Waited for 10 minutes at the seafood counter for someone to come help and nobody ever did. Other employees were there watching me and I signaled that I was waiting but they didn't care. Walked up to the customer service counter to have them page someone and walked back. After a 2 minute wait someone finally came. By then, I was done and walked out. We shopped here quite often but I'll be sure to drive down to the Pig or hit the other Publix stores that are less than 10 minutes away. Maybe it was just a bad day for them but the service in other areas has been sub-par at best so I'll just spend my money elsewhere from here on out. read more

Around lunchtime on two different days recently, the salad bar was out of lettuce. What the heck? A salad bar out of lettuce?

Everything here was clean and organized. Yes, even the bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly, mindful, and helpful. I always get excellent customer service at this Publix. In fact I have a daughter with special needs who wanted to work at Publix (she now is a bagger at Publix in Daphne! That's where they had an opening) and the manager heard it and saw that she was bagging all my groceries and so he went and got her her very own Publix name tag! This meant SO MUCH to my daughter. So I wanted to go to Publix because we don't have one in Louisiana. Guess what I learned? I am spoiled rotten for Rouses. Sure, Publix is great and all that but it's not Rouses. I thought this store was laid out kind of weird and stuff was just all over the place. The aisles were too long and narrow with people standing right in the middle not moving for anyone trying to get by. It honestly reminded me of Walmart. They did carry some local items which I picked up for gifts...Fairhope Roasting coffee is wonderful, by the way. All in all I will stick with my beloved Rouses when it comes to local grocery stores. There is super nice, fairly new one in Spanish Fort you guys. Just a hop, skip and a jump away. read more

Shout out to the Deli/Hot food counter staff. We were visiting from out of state and really just wanted to see the "Shelf" status of store. As we walked the bakery, deli, hot foods, we noticed items we were not familiar with. When we asked questions staff super friendly, even handed us samples without us even asking. This review is mostly for the amazing florists at Publix. I worked with Terry in the floral department for my wedding in November, and she was absolutely amazing! She is so very creative, kind, and absolutely wonderful at her job. Her co-worker, Diane, is also incredibly talented, and they are a magnificent team! Terry worked with me for several months to create the most interesting, vibrant, fall-themed flowers that just stunned my guests with their absolute beauty. The prices were extremely reasonable, she was able to help save me money, and we were able to pinpoint the items that were truly important to me as a bride. I will never forget how much I enjoyed working with these wonderful women! It was such a joy and honor to get my wedding flowers through them, and I now brag to everyone about these amazing artists. read more

Do not order any bakery cakes or cupcake items from this store . You'd have better luck having a 2-year-old decorate your cake . Staff is very unprofessional at the University Sunset Point Publix in Mobile Alabama . Service has gone downhill in the last few years so if you want to be unhappy go to the store. read more

I love Publix grocery stores; always clean, friendly employees and fresh food. Never felt threatened in the parking lot.

Let me start by saying I usually do not do reviews on grocery stores. However, in this case I believe the behavior and result warranted this review. Publix has always been known as a customer service oriented grocery location. They were not the low-cost provider however their specials combined with very good customer service made shopping there a good overall value. In the past two months The customer service has given way too well I will term is jumping through hoops to meet special pricing and what I would consider deceptive pricing practices. The most recent was today. As part of a grocery list purchased today, 1 gallon of Publix diet sweet tea was on the list. They did not have the product in the cooler cabinet however after engaging a Publix employee they found half gallons in the back. The half gallon size is $2.50 per so I took 2ea a thinking they would adjust the price since the issue came out of a shortfall of inventory of the 1 gallon size. When checking out I explained the situation to Betty (who is very nice) and she asked one of the manager to see if an adjustment could be made. He replied that he was unable to make the adjustment because he could not change the barcode. I did not wish to make a scene at the register nor upset Betty, so went ahead and accepted things as they were. I will not make that mistake again. Betty was very apologetic for the result. I was in a customer service related industry for 35 years and pricing adjustments to accommodate shortfalls in inventory were a common and well accepted part of customer service. To say that that excuse is meaningful is falling far short of the bar that Publix used to set. read more

I am usually a Rouses/Fresh Market gal because they are so near to me. Publix is always a treat. They are all so clean, well-organized and carry wherever magical ingredient needed for your cooking adventure. My fave is Montrose/Fairhope location. Not sure why, but when I enter the doors the time disappears and I like to explore. Employees are always so pleasant. Publix will always get a 4 or 5 from me and this location as all are always awesome. My wife and I were picking up a few things here and decided to get sandwiches from the deli as well as soup today. Everything was great, and Jennifer, at the deli was awesome since my wife and I were trying to decide what we wanted sandwich wise. We finally decided and Jennifer was more than helpful to help us which is a publix way. We found some items here that helped us out that Walmart didn't have in stock so we were good. Our bagger, and I'm and sorry I forgot his name, we saw him at church for the first time just this last week. We go to St Lawrence in Fairhope, and he is awesome for sure. Publix has always been one of my go to's for convenience and choices. Store is clean and service is perfect. read more

By far, this is the absolute WORST place to try and get medications from on a consistent basis. Staff members are inept and rude. Their communications are lacking any sort of quality and consistency. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

My daughter was getting married last May. I went in and tried talking with florist about flowers. Florist was rude and said they don't have space to make flower arrangements and pointed to a work table. Women who helped me on the phone with Sushi question was very helpful and very sweet when I saw her. Sushi is great by the way. Both white rice and brown rice options. Jordan helped me check out and was nice and pleasant. Most other employees were acting as though they were pissed to be there- definitely not what one expects at Publix. In my opinion, and in regards to the other reviews, this just comes down to management. However- store was nice and maybe those who live and work in the area are just in fowl moods. read more

Publix advertises that they are providing Coved protection. This is simply not true despite their advertisement. When their managers are asked about this they respond with, "We encourage our staff to adhere to safety guidelines such as wearing masks". To them this seems like enough of a response despite what they are advertising. If you are high risk or simply do no want to risk exposure, choose another supermarket. It also makes you wonder they say that they then interpret differently from what their policy says. read more

Went to publix bakery in fairhope and was hoping to get my dad a big 50 cake and the woman told me that she could decorate it to make it "manly". I am so disappointed... it looks like a child made this cake. The big 5 is actually an upside down 2 and there are giant balloons all over the cake which was never the plan. It's fine as far a Publix goes- the service at the deli is not too good.

I just love going into a supermarket to where you feel as if you could eat what your buying, off the floor. It's shows that from the owners to the employees that their is PRIDE! As much as I hate to shop for groceries, this Publix makes me forget I'm doing so with its GREAT SELECTION, FAIR PRICING, CLEANLINESS, and FRIENDLY STAFF!!! It tops ALL OTHER STORES within 100 miles!!!! TREAT YOURSELF and check it out!!!! My only suggestion is to market the location because it's hard to find if you don't know it's there. read more

fairhope publix deli- i have lived all over the country and am typically a big fan of your store, most importantly because of the deli and customer service. ****i called in ahead of time an order for 2 cuban sandwiches. i waited in line for about 15 minutes then was told my order was to the "left". ***essentially (and not for the first time), i overpaid for 2 pre-made 6 inch cubans the staff at fairhope deli shoved to the side. i had no mayonnaise, mustard, or any condiments. i lived in tampa for several years and know and respect a good cuban sandwich. i even ate publix deli cubans down there. the laziness and lack of respect for the customer from whomever is answering the deli phone and slinging half-made sandwiches aside for the people that plan ahead should #1 be reconsidered as an employee and #2 asked to eat the sandwiches they make themselves. publix is a great company overall and it terrible when one ruins, not only the customer experience, but the employees livelihood as well. read more
