The publix on Ridge Road is the worst store for customer service. I arrived at 6:06 pm ordered 8 chicken legs, was told it would be 20 minutes. I stated great I'll do my weekly shopping while it's cooking. I go back 30 minutes later and let them know I was waiting. At 6:55 they tell me he's just putting it in the fryer! What the freaking mess is this? Ask for the manager and all he says is I'm sorry about that ma'am. So I just left the cart full and told him, we'll yall can put all this food back, I'm taking my business elsewhere. We normally spend 250.00- 350.00 aweek there but I'm going to shop at Krogers! If you know anything about Publix, you know it's almost always a quality establishment. The one at New Hope is no exception. In my frequent visits, the store has always been clean; the workers have always been friendly. The products are outstanding, whether it's the stuff on the shelves or the products from the deli or bakery. A particular big hit with my family is the ready-to-cook section at the back, beside the meats: they've got numerous options of meals boxed up and ready to put in the oven for 15-20 minutes, and voila, dinner is ready. If you don't see a ready-to-cook meal that you like, they will often make you one special if you tell them what you want. If you shop at Publix but have not utilized the BOGOs, you're missing out. It's one of the best ways to save money at Publix. Their makes planning your shopping trip very easy. My one big complaint about this Publix is that it has no self check-out, so you're always at the mercy of how many registers are open, how long the lines are, and how many groceries your fellow shoppers have. My one small complaint is that it can be get crowded around the alcohol section, which is at the end of the frozen foods section, so when you try to come around the corner at the end of the aisle, there are lots of people picking out their booze, especially on the weekend and before holidays. Just would like an easier way to flow through that section. All in all, a good place. Oh, the parking lot is a bit odd in that all the lanes are one-way with diagonal parking, so pay attention to what the painted arrows say when you pull in! Addition: An example of good customer service occurred on my visit today. I was in line at the checkout; the customer who was trying to check out wasn't having any luck with her credit card; it kept getting declined. She had a huge pile of groceries already rung up and bagged in her cart. The checkout line was getting fairly long. Where most stores would make us wait or maybe send us to a new register, the cashier told the woman she'd save her order (which she did) until she could find another form of payment. The bagger moved the cart to the side, the woman went out to get another form of payment, and the cashier continued to check out the next person in line. I was just finished when the first customer came back; the cashier scanned the new card, and the woman was done. Pretty nifty. read more

This is easily the worst Publix I have ever been to. Everyone knows that Publix as a whole has an amazing bakery. So we ordered my daughters birthday cake from here a week in advance and we thought we'd be good but WRONG! Now they screwed up my other daughters birthday cake 2 months prior and we figured we'd give them a second chance but that failed also. We ordered a birthday cake made with whipcream and a birthday design. I have my daughter with me and we are picking it up and the first thing I notice is they spelled her name wrong. I mean it was correct on the paperwork so how they spelled it wrong was beyond me. I also noticed what looked like a hair sitting dead center in the cake. I asked the bakery team and their response was "no that's where I pulled on the frosting, because I thought it was a hair too." So my 5 year old looks at it with me and goes "That's a hair". So I walk up to the customer service and explain the situation and he looks at it and responds "Yes that is a hair". Then proceeds to tell me to get with bakery. I explained that I did and they are saying it's not. Finally they get the bakery manager up to us. Who remembers me from 2 months back as they screwed up the other cake. She looks at it and goes we can "fix this". I said okay I will wait on a new cake. She walks to the back and then comes back up front and tells me that their machines are broken and they can't give me a cake. I explain okay, well how do we fix this?! At this point it's too late to order another one as her birthday party is in an hour. She tries pushing me to get a cake with buttercream instead of what we ordered. I explained I cant due to food allergies. Yet again she insist that we do it anyways. I explain yet again I will not buy a cake that we can NOT eat. So her resolution is to yet again like last time call another store, have them make it and for me to go get it. I explain yet again I'm having my daughters birthday I can't go get it when people are coming over. So she like last time decides she will go pick it up and deliver it to my house. I agree and walk out the store because of the constant issues. As I am leaving she explains that next time she will "make sure" our cake is done correctly. I explain after 2 cakes there will NOT be a next time at this location. So as we are waiting I call and get a hold of the store manager and explain the situation. He explains he was walking in as I was about to leave and he heard a glimpse of the conversation. He stated that he talked to the bakery manager and she was stating we were complaining about "Fuzz". I sent him a text with the picture that I took and even he explained that was a hair. Regardless of whether it was fuzz or hair NOTHING should be in a cake to begin with. And it should not be acceptable to sell people a cake this way. Although the store manager handled it professionally at this point an apology doesn't resolve the issues. To allow this to happen twice is a lack of care from the staff. Now look at the picture and please someone explain to me how that is fuzz. read more

I think this is the first time I've given a Publix 3 stars. It was so dark in the store. I nearly thought it was something wrong. I felt like in a second they were going to tell everyone to get out, because our electricity is failing us. The floor wasn't as shiny as I'm used too for a Publix. The thing I hated the most is the lack of inventory. I have family members with food allergies and this location did not cater to my needs. The choices were very scarce. The lady at the customer service desk was nice an apologetic, but it didn't help because I needed to make another trip to another store. It was an inconvenience. All grocers should cater to all needs when regarding special diets. They should have a least a small portion of what Whole Foods sell. read more

This store is always clean and orderly, which I greatly appreciate. The people are always friendly and ask if you need help. They have a decent variety, but there are a few brands I really like that they don't have. They really need to work on their prices. I can buy the same stuff at Kroger cheaper 95% of the time. read more

I just want to say how great of an employee Dajsha in the Deli is. She is always smiling and very nice when I come to shop. I love this Publix .. it's around the corner from my house .. I never had a problem at all ... but today I decided to go get some ingredients that my wife had sent me to get .. I had to get cilantro and some personal hygiene stuff .. I always go through the self check out in any store im able to .. so I had cilantro which I grabbed from the produce section .. when I was going to pay I would always see my wife type in a code in the self check out.. well I wasn't going to go through that router so I took my 3 items to the 10 items or less and there was a gentlemen there cleaning the belt of the scan out .. I told him I'm sorry I always go through self check out but not this time because of the cilantro. Russ the employers name thought it be better for me to know the code to the cilantro and also tell me water bottles also have codes and I can let you know the code to that.. he wanted me to learn the code .. I'm not sure if he hates his job or if he just wanted to be funny but according his age he seem to be serious.. he needs to get talked to.. this is Publix not Kroger or Walmart.. all the employees here make sure everything is okay with me .. being a respectful person I am ..I don't suggest anyone to go through the line where Russ runs the line because he is going to educate you to where he tells you the bar codes and also let's you know everything has bar codes .. this threw my day off .. my wife goes every single day to Publix for any little thing and I'm going to make sure if she goes that he's there to go and test it for herself because she is shocked that happened to me.. he is in the wrong job if he is going to act like that .. I like fresh groceries so I visit 2-3 times a week. Pros: Clean Well stocked Parking is good The best part is the staff. Always friendly and helpful. I'm glad there is so many of them. It reduces wait time and there is always someone to help you to your car if needed. Cons: Lets reduce the salt in the fried chicken. Seafood selection is small. More sushi options are needed. I love shopping here! I've recently moved to the Dallas area and found that this Publix is only about 3 minutes away. Totally convenient. Plus, the layout of the store makes sense and is easy to navigate. One of the biggest pluses is that I haven't run into any staff members that are rude yet. In fact, most people have been quite nice and helpful. I know it's just what they do, but I always feel a little flustered and flattered when they help me take my groceries to the car. I can't really speak for prices since I always used to shop at Walmart. However, for the service and distance from my house, I'm quite happy to buy most of my groceries here. read more

I give this Publix 5 stars simply for the fact that their pre-made cakes saved the day! Last weekend was my aunt & uncle's wedding annviersary and they were throwing a small gathering at their house. Silly me, I forgot to order the cake! I dashed in and went straight to the bakery, about to beg and plead about how soon they could whip one up. To my surprise they had a whole cooler full of pre-made cakes (who knew?). All I had to do was pick out a sheet cake and they put the wording on for free. Boom! Problem solved! Everyone looooved the cake (but who wouldn't, it's Publix) and there wasn't any left. And to boot, I have a growing disdain for Wal-MArt. I don't really feel like walking the length of a football field just to get toothpaste, eggs, and milk. I can dash in Publix and get what I need, all without the time wasted in line or playing death race for a parking spot. Plus the produce in Publix is always fresher and hasn't been picked over all day by hundreds of customers. read more

I love the customer service here. They will make eye contact and small talk at the register, they will interact with your kids, they will greet you by name if they know it! When I walk down an isle passing someone restocking shelves I always get a "good morning" or "how are you" They always offer to help me to my car (personally I've always found it a little absurd that they have to do that, and feel like they should only offer this when it seems fit *elderly,moms, very full carts, disabled, etc) I have seen bagboys wait for people at redbox before proceeding to help them to their car. I tend to buy meat, seafood, produce at Kroger for the convenience and price however with publix, I save more money on the other stuff with coupons. I will always drive out of my way to go to this publix for the prices, employees, food quality, and product selection. read more
