Publix has always been more expensive but you could rely on them for good produce and their Publix brand items were good quality and still reasonably priced. Not anymore, recently purchased limes that were practically dry on the inside, flavorless blackberries, and onions that went bad in 3 days. The last straw for me though is them raising the price of Publix brand frozen broccoli to 4.99. Even when they have bogo items Kroger still beats them on sale prices. read more

I needed two cakes for my daughters birthday. The cupcakes I wanted were going to be a bit pricey so the bakery lady suggested I do pull apart cupcakes. We went to Pinterest and got an idea to make a bouquet. turned out beautiful an and I added butterflies to complete the look. Then for the cake, they were able to do the look I wanted but on a to tiny cake. they saved me a ton by not having to go to a specialty cake shop to do my ideas. Plus I like the fact that their cakes aren't ridiculously sweet. read more

What's the point of ordering online if they don't start your order until you ask for it? I'm trying to be considerate by not clogging the deli line in peak hours, but after standing for 20 minutes waiting for my order that was supposed to be finished already, I had to ask about it. They asked the name on the order and THEN started to work on it. Don't make another order option then crap on the system. *EDIT* They ended up not charging me for the sandwiches, which I appreciate. Unfortunately they tried making these so quickly once they realized I had been waiting for so long that they were gross. It looks like they tried to double the meat, but they used Publix brand when the online order was board head. They also overstuffed everything which made the sandwich go soggy. I can barely appreciate the endeavor to make it better, but it failed pretty miserably. I'll still shop here from time to time, but I think I am done with their deli service for awhile. read more

Lovely bakery section with great personnel. Horrible produce section. Very low stock - routinely out of basic vegetables, just bare shelves. And what is in stock is often dated or damaged. I pointed out to the produce guy that many of the cherries in each bag were completely molded. He responded, "they aren't all bad" and walked away completely unconcerned. Strange quantity of ordinary dogs in the store - walking right past the sign that says "service animals only." read more

I purchased a carton of Red Apricots today at the Cartersville store, They weighed 1.18 of a pound and Was Almost 5$ a pound. Got them Home and Wife went Through them and 'Half' Were Either Rotten or Very, Very Close To It " Very Mushy".. Either Way She Had To Dispose Of Them. They were In A Paper Basket & Couldnt Tell How Ripe They Were- I Should Have Went Through Them, But Being In A Little Basket, I Figured They Were Okay. Produce Dept. Needs To Check On Things Like This Set Out In A Bulk, Because Its Hard To Tell If They Are Okay Or Not. read more

Best grocery store in Cville. Always super clean, friendly staff, well stocked shelves, and yummy grub in the deli.

Please keep the dogs out of the grocery stores unless they are service dogs. It's too many people walking dogs around the food like it's a dog park. It's not sanitary and isn't a good look for people that have allergies. I know per your policy you can't ask whether they are service dogs or not but most service dogs are labeled. Eventually when you have everyone bringing dogs in walking around it will be Publix Dog Park not a grocery store. Also if there is an incident where a dog bite someone this will be a legal matter. I usually go to Publix for the excellent service, unfortunately today was one of the worst displays of rudeness I have seen in any store. I was standing in line at the deli for a while, I understood since there was only one person working. I was next when a young man from the lunchmeat counter came and ask if he could help me, I was about to order when Lisa interrupted me and told him to wait on someone she knew that had come up a good bit after me. Both the young man and I said I was next, Lisa was not happy that I spoke up and had a smug look on her face and began mumbling under her breath "I was next". She didn't even try to hide her attitude, and continued this until I left. If I wanted this kind of disrespect I could go the the big box store and pay less. I don't mind paying extra for good service. I hope Publix is not doing away with the friendly service. read more

Normally Publix is great all around (service, product quality, etc). This Publix is not. Deli staff DO NOT have a sense of urgency especially when there is a line. If you order online for a sub it generally isn't made UNTIL you arrive to pick it up. Produce manager needs to PERSONALLY CHECK EVERY ITEM! I have more than once found rotten and disgusting produce because they don't properly rotate their stock. Overall this store needs a lot of higher ups to come through on a more frequent basis to inspect it read more

This Publix is staffed with very friendly and efficient associates. I'd shop here just for the great service and people. I'd give 5-stars for the folks. The rest of the store is okay, but not as good as most Publix, hence the 3-star overall rating. read more

This publix was very clean when walking in as well as the bathrooms. Employees spoke to us and asked if we needed assistance. The store was set up pretty much as any other store and it was one of the newer stores. We were in and out quickly so we didn't take time to shop around and see all the departments. I enjoy publix quite a bit and look forward to returning to this one to shop some more. read more

Publix has the best customer service, especially the bakery and cashiers. I often purchase cakes last minute, and they are always so helpful to write messages on them for me. They are the grocery store version of CFA. read more

I see all of these poor or negative comments about this Publix on Cherokee in Cartersville and am really having a hard time rapping my head around what these folks are saying. This Publix is awesome! Everything is fresh including packaged salads. I've never in 5 years ever seen a dog in there but the only way a pet can go into any food establishment is if it trained and has the special harness. The people in this store are absolutely amazing! They go out of their way to help any time anyone. The butcher is constantly cutting specialty cuts for us and the folks at the deli are so sweet and helpful. Some have said they don't have a selection honestly it's not a fast food joint. The deli has these best chicken around and anytime I've a had sub there it was stacked. So please don't take the word of the few, try this store for yourself. read more

My first time in a Publix and I must say I liked it. I found a lot of nice treats we don't have on the West Coast and the place seemed super clean. Plus the staff was helpful when we had to find a few items. If only these were on the West Coast, but then again there is the southern hospitality. read more

While I agree that Publix in Cartersville offers the best service in town, I have noticed that they seem to be using alot of "Smoke and Mirrors" as far as pricing. They are getting extremely expensive and have started having sales that involve "Buy 2 Get One Free". I believe they are well aware that people are coming from work, in a rush, and just glace at the sign thinking it says "Buy One, Get One Free.' Also, they are charging at least 50% more on most items. When I complained about their policy, I was told that I REALLY NEED TO LOOK AT THOSE SIGNS..."wink,wink." Well sorry Publix, I'm done, I will shop where the price is the real price and a sale is a real sale, not a trick. read more

I generally don't review supermarkets, but I feel compelled to write about this Publix. Aside from the fact I think all Publix stores carry a great diversity of products, this one is superior for its excellent customer service. The employees are ALWAYS pleasant and helpful. Bad news and good news...... First the bad news, this Publix is no different from every other Publix I have visited around the SE US. Clean and good selection (regular groceries) but there is nothing special about it. The deli/prepared food section has awful selection, no salad bar, there was one packaged salad in the entire store at 7pm. I even asked a deli employee to check in "the back" and there were none. I had a sub sandwich made which basically had one layer of meat and one layer of cheese. I might as well had a loaf of plain French bread. The beer selection here is a joke too. To top things off, I got in the 10 items or less express checkout lane and was second in line but had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes while the cashier found a manager to override some coupon the customer in front of me had even though there were probably five other customers behind me waiting. Great customer service! Now the good news, a new Kroger is about to open across the street to replace Cartersville's old "Krappy-Kroger" which will be awesome. I have one where I live in VA. It will be everything that the Publix and old Kroger are not. Stay tuned! read more

As a local delivery driver, I visit a lot of Publix locations both to do shopping, eat lunch or grab dinner, however this Publix location is the absolute most poorly run store I have ever visited. Unfortunately it is the closest to my home as well. I go out of my way not to shop at this location. The deli workers, some, not all, act genuinely disgusted that they have to lift a finger to make anything for you. My biggest issue with this location is the fact that if you walk in the door at 6 o'clock in the afternoon, they either have run out of bread and cannot make a sub, have no sides to go with the chicken dinners and sometimes don't even have chicken. I have been told at 6:45pm that they had no chicken left, when I called to complain to the manager the following day, he advised me that they did have it, he verified that. they just didn't want to make it and that it was an ongoing issue that they were trying to rectify. He gave me the general oh we're taking care of it speech this won't happen again speech, offered me a free family meal the next time I came in, just to come see him and talk to him in person and he would take care of me, well I did that today it's only been a week, he had no idea who I was, had no idea of the complaint that I had made other than "wasn't it something about the deli?" He said yes we've been working on that I hope you have a nice day. Apparently he had forgotten the offers that he had made and in a weeks time forgot a very legitimate ongoing concern that a customer had. And don't get me started on the bogos, The store will be sold out of whatever is on sale any day of the week that you walk in. Pharmacy always has too many people in line and not enough people working, I have saw my doctor send the prescription electronically, I went to the store two hours later and they said oh we just got this five minutes ago on the voicemail, he didn't send it in via phone... Do not waste your time with this store and drive to Acworth where you will have a much more positive experience! read more

I have never been in here and had a bad experience. Great customer service. Observant. I love that they take the time to be polite and offer to get you things that you want from the back of the store. Great prices and friendly faces :) read more
