Just had one of the most humiliating pharmacy experiences of my life at Publix Pharmacy, 1755 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. After 5 hours of dental work, I brought in a valid prescription for pain relief. Instead of care, I was met by both Paul and Jessica with judgment, irrelevant questions about my doctor's location, refusal to speak to my doctor while he was on the phone, and insinuations that I wasn't using it for a "legitimate" purpose. ALEXIS ROCKS! This is my main Publix, this is where I do all my grocery shopping since it's so close to my new house. I'm super thankful to have such a great Publix, which is always clean, always stocks, and has the nicest staff. I love to come here for the pub subs on my lunch break, I've only ever had one issue here, but the one issue that I had (today) was resolved by Alexis. She is absolutely wonderful. If you ever have any issues, I would highly recommend you go into with her. but the overall staff and customer service is fantastic. read more

[What's in a name?] Well George Jenkins the founder opened the first stand-alone grocery store in Winter Haven, Florida, on September 6, 1930. He adopted the name "Publix" from a struggling New York-based movie theater company (with 19 opulently decorated movie houses in Florida) called Publix Theatres Corporation. Jenkins stated "Most of the theaters were closing up, and I liked the sound of the name, so I just took it for my store." They are true BOGOs where they don't jack the price up and then offer the BOGO, like some other grocery stores do. "Publix, where shopping is a pleasure", has been their motto forever, and for the most part it is true. The bigger the store, the larger the assortment of products. The small stores have only the top selling brands. I love their BOGO's, when I can't find something and ask a sales person, they will take me to the item or find out if they carry the product. If they are out of the product they will check in back and if there is none in storage, they will suggest a rain check. OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE great people quality products. Personally I love the service at Publix. Staffs are friendly and helpful and appear to be eager to be there. Also a large Greenwise selection, quality meats and bakery. Big, clean, spacious, helpful staff, easily accessible recycling not full of garbage and seems to always have product in stock, unlike its NY counterparts Use Instacart here for easy shopping and delivery. Trying to stay out of the stores, as despite the mask requirement the proper wearing of said masks seems to escape many folks. It's not a chin strap. And you don't need to pull it down to talk. That, plus too much touching, will keep us as remote shoppers as we inly have to disinfect what gets delivered. I am sure that this will be our go to location once the vaccine kicks in. read more

Beware- they are constantly marking things for the wrong price and not honoring they have the price marketed as. We went in today and grabbed and item that said it was on clearance there was a whole shelf of the item and no other tag on that item. They said it was posted at the wrong price and they weren't obligated to honor that price. The lady behind me was having the same issue for another item. As I was walking out I heard it happening with a bogo item. Other Publix's are great but this one just doesn't have the same level of customer care. read more

Crazy high prices! Why? You guys are every 3 miles and have tremendous buying power! Hey, I drive half an hour to Trader Joe's in Sarasota and an Aldi just popped up less than 2 miles away. I'm guessing that as Aldi stores populate, that you are going to loose chunks of your former clientele. For example a package of Swerve at Publix is $8.99 and the same package at Walmart is $3.99. That's a $5 difference , so Publix is more than double the price! Ridiculous! read more

Deli Dept definitely needs better Management. The last 30 days I visited this Publix 6 times for breaded chicken wings all 6 times including today I had to drive to another Publix to get them. They always have naked wings and mixed fried chicken but they NEVER have breaded wings. If you want them you have to get them to box them up out of the deli case if they have enough to fill a box. I was told "popular seller" they sell out. Well two things : 1. If in fact you sold out 6 times I've been there in the last 30 days know your department and have more ready . 2. I called in and ordered a sub for my lunch. at 11am. I asked for it to be ready by noon. the woman on the phone VERY RUDE. I get to Publix on my lunch break and my sand icy is not even ready. then I had to wait behind 2 people to REORDER my sandwich. The order paperwork was right in front of them. I wasted 18 minutes of my lunch ordering my food and waiting when it was suppose to be a GRAB AND GO. The woman who took my order was being nasty and did not complete my order. I only ga e it 3 stars because a guy named BRET in the deli made my food and he was very nice and made things better. I don't know who took my order in the deli but SHE WAS VERY RIDE! Karma will be back for her. I wouldn't recommend ordering anything over the phone because you're going to have to order it when you get there. Save your breathe. read more

if only i could give them 0 stores. first off, everyone here is a racist & unhelpful. one time i asked a guy where the meatballs were and all he said was "u can meet these BALLS" & threw a can of hunts tomato sauce at me. there was another instance where all of the staff ran outside because they saw an ice cream truck & they left me in the publix alone for 10 minutes. they all came back with ice cream cones. the final straw for me was when there was a pentagram drawn on my chicken tender sub wrapper. did they use my sandwich in some ritual?? i have been researching priests & talking the local wiccans to try and see if i was cursed. won't be returning. read more

Probably my least favorite Publix. However, it is the closest one to my home so I do come here frequently. The employees are super friendly as is the Publix norm, but that is about it. Parking is bad, deli never has online orders ready on time, and it's always overly crowded. The biggest problem I have is the produce. The last 2 times I've purchased from the produce department I've had spoiled potatoes and chives. Anyway, I'll keep coming here because it's close to home, but if you have a different Publix you can go to I would recommend steering clear of this one! read more

It's the day before Resurrection Sunday and this place is packed! Although, it was EXTREMELY busy, I was able to find everything I was looking for, some great deals, and more. Also, every employees I encountered today greeted me & asked if I needed help (someone even offered to unload my groceries onto the belt). As usual, I was asked if I needed help to my car (which I alway decline because I have working hands & legs so I told him to stick around for someone who really needs the help). When I got to my car, someone actually came up to my car to take the shopping cart so I didn't have to walk it back (although I wouldn't have minded). EXTRAORDINARY CUSTOMER SERVICE today!!!!! Why do we not have Publix in the Chicagoland area?!? Staff was friendly, store was clean. Excellent produce selection and they had a case of various fruits cut up and ready for purchase. They had a decent alcohol aisle too. Prices were similar to Jewel. They made sub sandwiches there, had a case full of a variety of premade salads, pasta salads, etc for a quick in and out meal grab. Had their southwestern Cobb salad- fresh, filling, and reasonably priced for its size. For the Chicago-land people, Publix is what happens when Jewel and Mariano's has a baby. read more

A friend of mine was hired at this store. On her first day, the customer service manager stood outside the bathroom waiting for my friend to come out. She then asked when she clocked in. My friend said 7 minutes prior to her start time. This manager scolded my friend and said she had to punch in at her exact start time. My friend during her interview with another manager was told she could clock in 10 minutes before her start time. Then this same manager told my friend to tuck in her shirt. The store gave my friend a size medium which swims on her because she is so small. When my friend explained to this manager that if she tucks her shirt in it will look like she is wearing a diaper because there is so much extra material. My friend went into the bathroom and tucked her shirt in. After my friend came out of the bathroom, there was an associate waiting for her outside the bathroom door. This associate told my friend that the manager wants her to put her hair in a bun. My friend questioned this associate on that and stated on her interview nothing was mentioned about putting her hair in a bun. My friend went out to the floor. The customer service manager came up to her and told her she can't have bangs because they won't be able to see her face on the security camera. My friend said, "this isn't going to work" and walked out. Later, the c.s. manager called my friend to apologize. It appears the store manager got a wind of what happened and probably made the c.s. manager call my friend. The c.s. manager apologized to my friend for being unprofessional. Later, the store manager called my friend to also apologize for the behavior of the c.s. manager. When my friend brought up about her bangs, the store manager said she can't have bangs because of food safety concerns. My friend was going to be a cashier and not working with food. My frien'd's bangs are short and to the side, so her face is not in hiding. So, you can't have bangs, which is not in their company policy, but you can work with a mask on and have half your face covered. Doesn't make sense. Plus, customers are coming into the store with masks on and sunglasses making them totally unrecognizable to the security cameras. Publix prides themselves on good customer service, what about internal customer service. It doesn't appear they possess good internal customer service. I encourage people with bangs looking for a job, to apply to this store. read more

This has been my grocery store for 10+ years. It's clean and usually a very pleasant atmosphere. However, I've had a couple really bad customer service experiences this year. First was trying to get a special order - weeks went by, and I checked at the customer service desk every week, but it never came in. Finally asked to speak to the grocery manager and he was SO rude and unhelpful that I eventually had to talk to the store manager just to get the special order! Second time (last week) I had an extremely rude teenage boy cashier who actually gave me shit for the sports team shirt I was wearing! Then his (also teenage boy) bagger chimed in as well! I felt attacked. Hey Publix: your staff should know better than to insult your customers!! read more
