Food was delicious. We had one of their flatbreads with vodka sauce and it was amazing. Nice drink selection and i love that they offer mocktails. The service was friendly and efficient. Really pretty atmosphere.

Always hear about this place from my mother in law/sister in law and while in the area I was like lets go! Burger was delicious, boy loved his food and a really cool looking place. I'd definitely come back here. I can totally see why it's so loved by other family. Casual place too which was good considering we came from the americana and just didn't want to fancy. Service was great also. I really need to try the truffle burger next time.

Beer was just ok.

My first time coming here as I was visiting in from LA. I liked the ambience and overall aesthetic Publicans but was a bit taken back why my friend brought me here because she kept saying the food and service was not that great, so I didn't say anything (I should have though) when she suggested it for dinner. I ordered a local beer which was ok, in fact it reminded me of a Corona beer but I had no issues with the server/service. My friend ordered nachos, which was basic tortilla chips with ground beef, some melted cheese, and a few Serrano chiles on top. Basic but lacked flavor on the meat and could have used more toppings. I ordered the chicken meatball sliders and they were good! An order of 3, with bbq sauce and a little tiny amount of slaw. Probably could have used more slaw but I did enjoy the taste of the meatball. My friends BF ordered a steak that came with a tiny amount of broccoli and some potato wedges. I tried a wedge and it was ok but he sent back his dish and one of the sliders because it had a hair in it. The restaurant was nice enough to take it off the tab and then we left. If I lived in the area, I'd have given them a second chance just to try other things off the menu because I really liked the ambience of Publicans but sadly I don't think I'll make it back to the Manhasset area anytime soon.

I really like Publicans decor. Great place to watch a game. There are plenty TV's around and on a Saturday afternoon there all in different college football and NBA games. The food is pretty good. Burgers were made well and I had one on a pretzel bun that was very tasty. Their cauliflower general Tsos us DELICIOUS. Hands down the best thing I had. The service left a bit to be desired. My friend and I arrived separately and it took a long time for him to be acknowledged and then seated while I waited to be acknowledged when I walked in and I never was. We also noticed water was brought to the tables around us while we were never asked if we wanted any. Small things to some, but can make a big difference when it comes to repeat customers.

The brunch experience here is so fun on the weekend. If you order any entree, you get a complimentary Mimosa, Prosecco, or a Bloody Mary with it. There's even a bottomless brunch feature for a few bucks more and it's good for an hour and a half. We were watching a March Madness game on the TV as we were sitting in view of the bar. Lots of top shelf drinks I might add. And back to those drinks, they pour heavy and generously so it hits ya. Bloody Mary, Virgin or not, just very peppery. And it has a kick that will knock your taste buds for sure. Food from the Brunch Menu: - Shrimp and Grits with chorizo, has a really reddish color this dish and it's very flavorful. Hubby liked it and attacked the shrimp first, tails on BTW. - Kiddo enjoyed the Breakfast Nachos. He saw my photo from my first visit and had to order the same. It was ginormous. Even with three of us sampling, we couldn't finish and wrapped it to go. It was loaded with cheese, scrambled eggs, pico and guacamole. Delicious. Guilty pleasure. - Donut French Toast, my other kiddo enjoyed it. Comes with fresh sliced strawberries (we asked for it on the side though) and topped with powered sugar. It looked like a French toast bagel by design but totally tasted like a donut. Sweet and delicious. Fun food but I don't think I'd order it again. It's a sweet tooth kind of dish and more for the kids. Great portion though. - Salted Croissant burger with fried egg (sunny up) and a side of fries was my choice this visit. The salted croissant was amazing as I've never had one before. I enjoyed the flavors meshed together. The bacon and runny egg with melted cheese, burger patty medium rare, hit the spot. I enjoyed every bite of this sinful brunch burger. What a treat. Coffee is good and they were good about refilling it when we asked. Service was a little slow but they were quite busy as the bar dining area was full, back room/private room was occupied as well (private party) and a few main dining tables open but otherwise, Saturday Brunch at 1:30pm, it was busy! Parking lot in the back is shared by all the businesses on the block so do not be alarmed if it's full. We parked on the side street but do read the signs, there were quite a few rules and times noted on when/where to park. Solid spot for bar grub and drinks. Great food and come if you're not in a hurry.

Stopped here on a very busy Wednesday night. I felt a little bit out of place as I was here alone; everybody was part of a group as I sat quietly at the bar a few people knocked into me accidentally and then surprisingly looked at me as if I did something wrong. Odd vibe. Great bartender; the house Publicans brew was truly amazing, I really enjoyed it. I also had a pretzel which was very good. Thanks Publicans.

That brunch burger is something else. Runny egg and cheese sauce, mmmmm. What a perfect way to start the day! The chicken waffle sliders were another solid choice, perfectly fried and juicy piece of chicken. I suggest adding some hot sauce along with the maple syrup, really takes it up a notch.

I know why the bedroom on a Sunday night is this disgusting

The bar is always busy, and there tends to be enough tables for service which is good because they do not take reservations. My typical meal that I get is the Schouts Bay Burger, but last night I wasn't too hungry so I enjoyed the special soup - roasted tomato - and a side of Brussel sprouts. My friend had the halibut and said it was delicious.

We visited this place on a Saturday evening shortly after they opened for dinner service that day…read morewith a party of four. Seating was quick and service was okay throughout the visit even though the place was full. What decreased the rating for me was the portions and the prices in which I was expecting a bit more. When you go to a tavern, you typically expect rustic comfort food in a decent portion size at an affordable price. Everything here is a-la carte despite the $17 (burger) to $31 (flank steak) entree price with sides (side portion sizes amount for one to two people) running you an additional $11 to $12. The appetizers, which will run you between $12 and $17, are also small in portion size. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimpcargot for $17 which was maybe 6 small shrimp but you mostly tasted lemon and dill more than you tasted any garlic herb butter and the small pieces of toast that comes with the dish. I've had escargot multiple times previously and would rather have that than the shrimpcargot again. We also ordered the gyoza, which only included four small dumplings for $12, and a special they had for Pork Belly Bao Buns, which only came two to an order and the piece of pork inside was quite small (the flavor was decent though). For entrees, we ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon, the Roasted Chicken, the Country Pork Chop, and special Halibut they had on the board. Out of these dishes, only the pork chop ($29) and the salmon ($24) seemed to be a decent portion size for what they included without any sides. The special Halibut, which was $38, was quite a small piece and included nothing else other than the brown butter sauce it was in. The Roasted Chicken had two small breasts of chicken included, not even half a small chicken for $24. The a-la carte entrees are not enough for one person so for sides, we ordered the jasmine rice ($12), the brussels sprouts ($12), the harissa roasted carrots ($12), and the mac and cheese ($11). Out of all of these, I only thought the roasted carrots had a very nice flavor with the yogurt and spice they are paired with. The mac and cheese (without bacon) was bland as was the rice, and the brussels sprouts were dry with a need for some type of sweetener such as honey. Altogether, for four, the total bill with tax before tip for us was $220, quite high when you're just looking for a casual dinner at a local place. If the portion sizes were slightly larger or included sides, and the pricing was more reasonable (not including drinks), this tavern would be worth the re-visit but this could've been better.

We were traveling from out of town and meeting up with an old high school friend and Copperhill was the perfect place. They had a menu full of great selections ... from brunchy items to salads/sandwiches and great healthy selections too. Our server Cat D. also did a fine job of keeping us all very happy, she's a great server. I had the shrimp tacos which were very good. My husband and HS friend had the kale salad with a big piece of salmon on top. We all really enjoyed our meal and had plenty of time to catch up with each other. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated with cool art and flowers/plant life. They did a great job with creating a cool vibe inside. It does get a little loud, so if you're looking for a quiet meal, brunch on a Sunday might not be the place. The restaurant gets pretty crowded.. and for a reason. Great service, food and ambiance can do that! I would definitely go back next time I'm in town.

Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and really added to the experience without being overbearing. Great service always stands out to me, and this was exactly that. I had the fish, and it was excellent. The current menu features Atlantic Salmon with ratatouille, fennel, and basil, and seafood is definitely worth considering here. The food felt thoughtful and well prepared without being overly complicated. The atmosphere is beautiful. It has an upscale but comfortable feel, with enough character that it doesn't feel like every other restaurant. Sitting at the bar was perfect for catching up with friends, having a good meal, and enjoying the evening. Everything about the visit felt easy and well done, from the food to the service and ambiance. Definitely a great experience and a place I'd happily return to.

Ultimately, our experience ended up right in the middle--some hits, but a few noticeable misses that kept it from being a stellar meal. The Highlights: The Coffee: Easily the absolute star of the morning! Rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection--it was easily the best part of the entire visit. The Atmosphere & Service: The overall setting is lovely, and the staff kept things polite and attentive throughout our meal. Where It Fell Short: The Drinks & Food: We ordered virgin mojitos, but the orange juice base tasted surprisingly flat and off, almost like it had been sitting out too long. The Omelette: I ordered a classic omelette, and while the presentation was decent, the execution was just plain bland. It felt like it was lacking key seasoning or fresh herbs to give it life, making the whole dish feel pretty uninspired. All in all, it felt a bit sub-par compared to the usual Roslyn dining standards. That said, brunch can be hit-or-miss depending on the day, and I'd still be open to coming back to give their dinner menu or other options another chance.

They start you off with some warm buns served with honey butter and they were GOOD. So good that we asked for more and then tried to stop ourselves from devouring them before our food even arrived. For appetizer, we ordered the crispy calamari. The batter was very light and the calamari itself was so delicate and sweet. You can definitely tell how fresh the seafood is and that stayed true for the rest of our meal. For pastas, we got the spaghetti fra diavolo containing lobster and shrimp. Again, the seafood was fresh, sweet, and tender. The pasta was also a shocker, not only was it perfectly firm, it had such a nice chewy texture. You can feel and taste how homemade the pasta is. Next, the rigatoni eggplant was our unexpected favorite. The pasta texture was even better with the rigatoni shape and the eggplant was not even noticeable, it blended in so well with the sauce. The ricotta on top was the perfect creamy addition. For proteins, the pork chop was very tender and juicy. The sweet glaze wasn't overly sweet and it really complimented the savoriness of the meat. The brussel sprouts on this dish were also outstanding. I love when a restaurant doesn't treat the veggies as a side dish! The branzino was light and refreshing, it was a really great balance to the other saucier dishes we had. The service was extremely attentive and so friendly. They really took care of us and made sure we enjoyed our meal.

There's also a separate lounge and bar area if you want to skip the formal dining room and just want light tapas and drinks. Their website says everything is made in house including the desserts. I had dinner here once before but it's been a hot minute since (my pre-Yelp days). This visit was for a friend's birthday and I wanted to introduce French cuisine to her. It was a brisk night out but nice and warm inside. Parking lot is located in the rear of the shopping plaza where this restaurant is located. Onto the food: we started with cocktails and ordered wine to pair with our dinner. For starters, we ordered the poached artichoke gratinee. The presentation was quite pretty, seasoned with chives, parsley, and Parmesan crumbs. I love most foods with cheese! Not shy about that! We also ordered the Hudson Valley foie gras, paired with a port poached pear and honey served with a cranberry brioche. It's an acquired taste that I really enjoy but if you're not into liver, then this dish is not for you. My friends never had foie gras so I ordered this to introduce it to them. This was also the swap since they didn't want escargot (overplayed by reputation for the cuisine). The third appetizer we chose was the crispy octopus. So many flavors in that plate, think olives, red pepper hummus and potatoes served with it. This was a great shareable dish and the dish was delicious as well as appetizing. For dinner: we shared all three entrees, 1) Herb crusted Rack of lamb, which I ordered medium temp. Divine! 2) Veal Chatelaine had a nice chestnuts and sherry sauce, very tender, and 3) Filet of Sole en croute, which the fish was moist and tucked inside the pastry shell. A bit thicker pastry than expected but the first was nicely seasoned. For dessert as I said, it was a friends' birthday...so despite all that food, we ordered three desserts to share as well. The Pistachio Tartufo, the Tiramisu and the creme brulee. All were delicious for the flavor profiles they were but I definitely preferred the creme brulee. The Pistachio Tartufo was really good - packed a lot of flavor. The tiramisu was light and airy.
