Shadiest place ever! Time to find somewhere else to move my belongings. Initial rent of a small space was $45 (discounted rate) after 3 months and again my agreement, it went to $75. I just received a notice that they are raising the cost to $100, all for a 5x10 space. If you do the math, that is the same price per sq ft as a luxury apartment. And if that doesn't sell you, they have deals charging new tenants less than half that. I will be contacting them and the BBB! read more

I really wish I could give this company a ZERO for pricing and customer service. I reserved a unit to put my truck in while off working. The normal size I get when I'm away from home, 10x20. I arrive to find that although the width and length is the same but the door is too short, once inside it's the same as the others. I let the girl know, she says no worry I'll switch your reservation to the one down the street with normal size doors. She did, but when I looked at the reservation they charged me another 130.00 for the same size room, just a door that was a ft taller. I tried to call customer service, no luck. Meanwhile, I was flustere, these 2 young ladies walk me thru the process of everything and help me secure my storage unit. They were very patient, helpful and understanding. Wanted to like it because the actual store manager is nice. But... 1. had a weird experience with a hostile staffer who overshared her personal life. 2. they started jacking up prices a few months in, despite having sent confirmation docs for the initial rate. They raise prices without your permission and in violation of - what you agreed to and what PS stipulated in its reservation docs - the deal terms you confirm at the time of sign-in with the representative at the front desk... she assures you that the rental rate is good for at least the first year, but that's not true. And when you email corporate, there's a bunch of boilerplate responses that say nothing. And if you eventually follow up enough and get guided to the regional manager, he doesn't reply to emails. Surreal. They jack prices and then you can't contest it with anyone... you just get an email saying "the system determined this new rate was the correct rate." Great -- a message from a robo-email saying that a robo-algorithm decided to up my fees. How reassuring. Is it a lot of money? No. It's just the principle of the thing. read more

FROM BAD AND DISSAPOINTED TO HAPPY AND THANKFUL!!!! I arrived at the location not knowing it was a "self service facility" meaning no staff at this location. Access code provided did not work so when I called customer service they were able to provide me with a new code that worked. When I gained access to the building the elevators were broken and had a sign that told me I had to use the stairs. This was frustrating but I decided to call customer service again and see what they could do about this frustrating situation. I spoke to an agent and they made things much better after asking for accommodations due to all of these issues. I have to say this was a situation where I was very disappointed but a perfect example of customer service doing a great job in helping switch the unit to one on the first floor and honoring the same price as the one on the second. Personally, I didn't have a bad experience with this company so far. The manager was helpful and helped whenever our unit didn't want to close properly. This Storage center actually calls you about your payment of the unit if they see you didn't pay it early on in the month so that's pretty good. I think the only flaw with the storage units is that the building itself has no WiFi hot spots. Literally a dead zone inside, no phone calls in or out. read more

My wife and I are moving so we needed a storage facility to put some excess items in that won't fit in our new home. I picked this facility online due to its central location between our two residences. I rented the space I needed and went to the facility today with some items. When I arrived I was cheerfully greeted by three ladies at the front desk. Sarah was my main person although the other two were equally friendly and helpful. Sarah went out of her way to show me my space, get me setup with a mobile app and make sure I was 100% satisfied with the whole experience. I cannot say enough about the great feeling and service I received this morning. Moving is stressful enough but these three ladies lessened that stress a lot! I made a great choice picking this facility which appeared clean and well maintained. The dressing on top was the staff on duty today!! read more

public storage are happy to pro-rate your rent when you come in so they get paid for the extra days your there, before the 1st of each mont, but when you give them two weeks notice and leave before the end of the month, they refused to prorate the unused rent and refund you. this is a shitty and shady business practice. No other business would get away with charging you for some thing you are not using their excuse is that it's in the contract, but the contract is written in fine print and is so extensive that nobody would read it, Word for Word I was told when I called about booking the space that if I left before the month was up that I would be reimbursed for the days of the month that I didn't use, but when it came time to do that, they refused. each time I tried to call it went to a message bank, and nobody ever called me back. I would not recommend public storage to anyone. read more

They increased my rent by more than 15% less than 6 months after I started rented. I'm sure it's written in the fine print somewhere, but it totally feels like a bait and switch. If you get a unit here you will continue being charged after you get your move out notice. I drove two hours to take the lock out. After I moved the lady said I had to. If I woulda known it's just a few I woulda saved a two hour one way trip where I stayed at a hotel. So I can work remote in the morning. Then I get charged still. Corporate doesn't care either. Said disregard the charges coming out my bank account automatically. Make sure you do not do automatic payments and when you cancel you won't have to deal. You can address that invoice in there face. Keep in mind the location is very bad for finding anyone inside while they are open. Short staffed only one lady if you can even find her read more

Renters beware. When closing out my account, I was given verbal instructions by the front desk and did exactly what they instructed to close out the unit. Do not fall for the banana up the tail pipe, when closing out the unit, you better make sure to have a written notice to the company. Have had nothing but a good experience with Public Storage. I spoke to someone on the phone prior to renting, all my questions were answered and I received a follow-up after I made an appointment to come in. The facility is clean, well-lit, and dollies are available whenever I've been there at different times. The only thing that brought them to 4 stars instead of 5 was that I didn't ask about paying for a lock and they didn't tell me so that was an added charge when I got there. The price started off good. I spoke with the life person who told me the total cost of the move-in would be $79 then $55 a month upon paying the bill I found out they charge me $25 to buy a lock you are not allowed to provide your own lock so anyone they use this facility beware they've deliberately deceive you and leave that information out so whatever price you get add-on $25 read more

The air conditioned space is just barely better than the outside temp. To be fair, I complained and the manager said she would put in a service call to have them to come and check it out, they did to me it's the same. Horrible, horrible service. They seem to misunderstand who the customer is. First, I reserved a space online. I called the day of reservation to see if I could delay until Friday due to an emergency. They said that they didn't have a record of my reservation. They said they lost all the reservations due to a power outage. Well, being a software engineer, I know that's not how it works. LOL. Perhaps they didn't have access to the reservations while the power was out, but the power was not out when I spoke to them. Then I asked them to create a new reservation, but, of course, then they couldn't give me the online price. I told them I would reserve online but to please keep an eye out for hte reservation. I went home and did the reservation. I then received a call on Wednesday that if I did not confirm the reservation with a callback that day, they were going to cancel the reservation. First of all, there is NOTHING on the Public Storage website that says I need to answer a call or in any way confirm a reservation by phone. In fact, it specifically says that reserving online HOLDS THE UNIT. But, I called anyway. Then, I went today, Thursday, to try to checkin. They "close" at 6, but they would not allow me to reserve my unit at 5:40, because they begin to close down at 5:30. There was a couple outside who had, in fact, been there at 5:30 and were not allowed to book their unit. They even had a UHaul rental that they now needed to pay for an extra day due to not being able to get into their unit. Needless to say, I will NOT be renting there. I also recommended another facility to the couple. I also called corporate and they didn't seem to care. This was a real shame, because, if you look at my other reviews, you'll see I had a very positive experience with my extended rental at Public Storage in Sunnyvale, CA. read more

Really awesome unit. Brand new building that's climate controlled and only 3 weeks old. The push carts make moving in and out a breeze. The security gates, doors and cameras give you the peace of mind that your assets are safe and secure. At least this location allows you to have access up until 9pm. Would be better if it were accessible 24 hours. This location offered the best promotion in the area. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a storage unit. read more

Today packing and also getting ready for Hurricane Irma, when into location with my reservation "Labor Day special" Reservation # 200126507 come to find out Public Storage agent by the name of Kim location 1859 N Jog Rod West Palm Beach Cancelled my reservation!!! Reason one, she states I did not confirm but I went into location in 2 days ago and told her whom I spoke to and I have a active storage unit rented at another location up North lie again!!! I asked her to call other location because I have lived in West Palm Beach for 5 years and that was not my rental. But instead she was very happy to make another reservation of $100 more then original reservation!!! I called the customer service and that agent said she will email distric manager because she did not know the preicode in place for hurricanes, "why should that matter! I have a reservation" Unbelievable price gouging slim bags!!!!!!! So Upset!!! read more
