The location is spot on for anyone in the West Palm Area that is usually in a rush. I was able to rent a lock, see the property before making my final decisions, and move in same day. The assistant was accommodating, not extremely friendly but in my experience that made the experience more believable. The property was ventilated and equipped with trolleys for mass transportation. The location is very convenient and the facility is clean! The only issue I have with them is I can never find any hand carts to move boxes! When I asked, I was told there were 8 and people take them home and that's it!! I was like I have a whole apartment I'm moving into an 8x10! She just stared at me!! Luckily one man finished using one and we used that!! But we could have used two!!! I went back a second day to get things out and no hand carts on any floors!! They could use more carts! read more

I spoke with a customer service agent on Saturday night at Public Storage and I reserved a storage unit for $149 at 4200 Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach for this morning. I was told that it would be a first-floor unit that was not air-conditioned and that they would prefer I buy a lock at the office. I explained to the agent that I was disabled and that my home was contaminated with mold and that I needed a storage unit to just house a few keepsakes that I could keep that I had to throw away 95% of everything I own because of the mold and that I was very sick from the mold This morning I loaded up my car I was about to drive to the storage unit and I was called by the storage unit to discuss my reservation. I told the woman at the storage unit that I was going to purchase a lock from them and that I had reserved a drive up ground floor air-conditioned storage unit. The woman at the storage unit told me that they had reserved a parking space for me. Not a storage unit but a parking space for me the same kind of space that you would use to park your car at a grocery store! She said no worries though I can look and see what we have available and the size that you want of a storage unit and I believe it was for an exponential amount of money more a month than the price I was quoted at on the phone! I explained to the woman that this was bait and switch and that clearly I had reserved a storage unit I had explained to the lady on the phone the night before that I was disabled that I needed to store my stuff and she told me it was a non air condition unit on the first floor and that I would need to purchase a lock! I am now calling customer service for public storage and I have now been hung up on by three. The forest call I made to Public Storage transferred made to the executive line. The executive line said to leave a message when I try to leave a message the line does not let me leave even my name without cutting off! Please please do not rent a storage unit at Public Storage! They tried to scam a disabled woman by reserving for a parking space and told me that it was an actual storage unit and I was then told that I could have a unit an actual storage unit but it would be $400 more than the price I was quoted! Public Storage is a scam! They scam disabled people! Please do not rent from them! read more

This is a great location, but THE CHAIN has very high standards, so this location is just a very typical example for this company. I've used Public Storage before when I moved and they were great. It's a very well-thought-out system that you're buying into = they've thought of every possible detail and I'm talking 100% PROFESSIONAL GRADE. This is not a private, small-time operation. It's like dealing with an airline or a US government organization. My first choice & unless there's some serious aberration with the individual manager at the location, you can feel confident. If you've seen some other reviews of this storage chain or this location that were unfavorable, just try to read between the lines and you'll invariably see that the REVIEWER is the problem, NOT this chain. read more

Usually was okay with this particular facility and have had no problems. Staff always hard working and on top of their game. Recently, however, I've had some specific items stolen out of my unit which seemed very odd since there was no oviuos break-in. Keep in mind that for climate controlled units the top of the units are open for anyone to see since they're covered with only chicken wire bolted to flimsy alluminum bars in order for air to get in. I had a gut feeling I shouldn't of stored these two items there and I was right. I even burried them deeper into my stuff. So if you do store you stuff here keep a tarp or sheet over your stuff just in case. Also, prices increase shortly after renting. Good luck! read more

Today, Sunday March 03, 2019, I was scared and panicked by one of your employees and feel that disciplinary action should be taken. I received the call at 11;15 . Because I was in church I had my phone turned off. By the time I left and made it home I saw a missed call and checked my voice mail. The message was very clear. I needed to contact Public Storage about a matter immediately. I tried to call the number left several times and got no answer. I left three messages. I was in a state, thinking that a robbery had occurred. I was so worried that I jumped in the car to head over to the storage unit. My mind was racing about the loss of my furniture and art. Not once could I have comprehended that it was about something else. Several minutes later I got a call from someone from Public Storage. They started to tell me that my bill was past due. I immediately screamed at the person. How dare they put me in a panic over such a simple matter. They could and should have said that in the message and asked me to return the call at my earliest convenience. Instead my heart was racing and I was even more furious that this person did not even offer an apology. Instead asking when I was going to pay the bill. Now we had just moved in on the 19th of February. And I was told that the month ran until the 18th of March. The current date is March 03! I am still angry over this message. It was just sheer stupidity to call and leave such a vague and misleading message that lent itself to any number of interpretations. I have to tell you that I am still shocked by the idiocy of this person. I do not have the name, and I will go in to see what this is all about tomorrow. I just want this on record. Shame on you, Public Storage. It is nerve racking enough to put your life into storage without having someone playing mind games with you by not being precise. There are no words to tell you how disappointed I am in your service. read more

i dont want to give them a star at all........ please be aware.... if you have a unit at this facility 4200 okeechobee blvd, west palm beach*******please be aware****** there is something going on at this place. i have had a storage unit at this place for 3 months and i went into my unit on friday to find out that someone broke into my unit and stole my items. it has to be someone that is sleeping in the unit at night. they broke into my unit through the top,they cut through the wire. this is very sad because i am paying your facility to keep my stuff in storage and now its gone. they dont have any cameras inside the building only outside. which is sad. and who knows if the cameras were recording at the time they were taking my stuff. i have to wait for the police to review the tapes and wait 6 months to a year for the dna and finger prints to come back. when this place closes for the night!!!!! they are creeping and stealing your stuff. this has to be done at night becasue you cant get inside the facility after 10pm. so when they close is when all the stealingis going on. this is a very serious matter if they broke into my unit how many other units are they breaking into. i feel sorry for pepole that have a unit here and live in another state. it very heart breaking when you go to you storgae to get somthing and fine out that it isnt there anymore. i have been calling the district manager since friday and i have not heard from him. it is very depressing to know that we are paying you to keep our stuff in storage and to find out that someone broke into it is very pathetic. i filed a claim with the insurance company... waiting for them to get back with me on that. i just want my stuff back!!!!!!!!!!! read more
