We were given a rate of $67 a month and told it was not a promotion that this was the rate. A few months later we were billed $97 without warning and without notice to give us a chance to move. I was in the area because I've been helping a family member find a good storage unit to store some stuff that isn't needed all year around. Sidney, was very friendly and courteous. She answered all of our questions, the storage facility was very clean and most of all it looked like a safe place to keep your belongings. I have had my stuff at a storage before so I definitely have an idea and know how important it is to make sure you feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend checking this storage out. read more

I noticed some of the other comments and I have rented 2 units from this facility for about a year. I am moving so that is the only reason I'm leaving this location. The staff has always been nice with me. The girl was pleasant, sorry I don't recall her name and so was Ryan. The only complaint I agree with is that the keypad in the elevator is mounted too low. read more

Staff is never there on time, the bathroom is always out of order, the place smells inside like a mix of sewage and old lady and the facility isn't maintained at all. Maintenance on this location is absolutely horrific. The main gate to enter the grounds is busted and the gate is just hanging open pretty much inviting the thousands of cars that pass by on route 23 to come in and rob us. But no problem because even if someone enters the broken entrance gate at least there are secure keypad entry electronic doors in order to get into the actual building, right? Wrong! Those doors are broken too. For the last 4 months those doors have been left wide open to let any and all elements, creatures, and potential thieves just walk right in. Oh and don't forget the block long pile of trash thats piled up behind the building. Mattresses, furniture, boxes, garbage all left there for months to disintegrate in the rain. Visited on Sunday 2:30pm and the person sitting at the office desk could not have been anymore disengaged. Really poor sales skills and condescending attitude. I said I wanted to rent a 5x5 locker and asked if I had a reservation which I didn't. He then proceeded rudely to say that they were out and only had 8 units available in the whole facility like he has cocky and gave me a price for a larger unit and rattled off multiple costs associated with it and barely gave me eye contact Mind you, I was a customer before with them last May renting a locker and he knew that. I told him that wasn't going to work and asked if he could price match the other unit which he then laughed with an attitude and said that's now how this works like I was an idiot. I asked if there was another location and he said a location in Clifton. I told him I was going to book a unit at another competitor and he said ok. Well this is how it works for me going forward, I will not be a customer going forward because of this guys guest service attitude or lack thereof. I booked a 5x5 locker at Life Storage located right next to Willowbrook Mall in Wayne for 30% less cost with an outstanding sales representative and really convenient location. Public Storage should evaluate its staff's selling and service skills specifically with this person. Lost a customer as a result. read more

Four moths after renting the unit, I received a letter stating that they were going up on the prices for the year by nearly $40. This bait and switch is absurd! 6-months later, I am moving out and I'm going to Extra Space. Hopefully, it will be a much better company. read more

I kept my stuff here for several years. They jack up my bill all the time . I'm paying about three times the amount originally. They never pick up the phone or call you back. As soon as I can, I'm moving my stuff out. I would advise everyone to stay away and rent somewhere else. read more

Be careful of this place. They do not perform maintenance on the sliding doors, the fences around the property and the lights in the hallways. It's a security risk. I've called corporate many times to get help and nothing. The regional managers all say they will get it done, but use excuses like "we only have one vendor that services the whole Northern New Jersey corporate sites and we'll get to it when we can." Really? One vendor? Go somewhere else if you plan to rent for a longer period of time. I've had 3 units there for several months and plan to leave soon. read more

Rented here for 2 months. during that time on several occasions the rear basement door was not only broke up left open. The 1st level sliding door was also broken and never required a code to enter. I used a 10x10 storage unit between May and October 2016 to hold most items from my one bedroom apartment. If you are moving 100% of your items from a one bed apartment into storage, you'll need a bigger unit. I had to get creative with my storage technique. Overall my experience with this storage facility is positive. I would suggest it to a friend local to the area who needs storage for a period of time. Accessibility on Rt. 23 is very convenient. There is also an Enterprise on the other side of the highway where you can rent a cargo van. It does get expensive to rent as the months go on, and I did wonder if I should have sold some of my stuff before storing it. The facility is clean and safe. Sometimes the basement back door, which unlocks from its sliding rail to allow large items to pass, is not correctly locked back into the track by those using it. This means the door stays open without having to use the keypad to enter. Can't blame the management for that, but customers should be made aware how to use the door properly. Lastly, if your storage needs come to an end, be sure to plan very carefully when you cancel your unit. Public Storage corporate policy doesn't allow partial refunds after a several day grace period at the beginning of the month. So if you empty your unit on the 15th of the month, there is no savings to be had by cancelling early. Annoying, but it is what it is. The staff is very polite and pleasant to do business with. I would return if I was moving again. read more

Besides the broken doors and awkwardly places keypads by the gates, this place still sucks. I was in the process of cleaning some things out and between going back and forth between the facility and my home, I decided that I was going to throw away a plastic set of drawers and a couple items of mine that have unfortunately rotted while they were in my unit (a couple wooden items and some of my metal kitchen items that I stored here were all destroyed by just sitting in the unit). So I walked over to the dumpster thats at this facility, and the woman working there started shouting at me about how I apparently cannot use the dumpster. I ask her where I'm supposed to put it, and she tells I need to take it with me. My car is already full, so I have no choice but to leave it there on that trip. I start heading home and 2 minutes later I get a call from her saying that I'm going to get charged a dumping fee. I go through my rental agreement and nowhere does it say anything about not being able to use the dumpster or fees associated with that. So on my next trip to the facility today, I decided that I'm going to cancel my service here. I pay good money for a tiny little space here and there isn't a single trash bin in the whole facility for customers. I walk into the office there and tell her that I want to cancel, and she refuses to let me cancel because of the situation with the drawers. It was the stupidest thing I have ever heard. She told me I had to call corporate to cancel because she did not want me in her office. Trust me, I would have loved to call corporate to recommend putting a garbage area for their paying customers, but none of their phone lines work and they all lead you through the same pointless command or dial you to their specific store location, where nobody ever picks up. So my recommendation to you all is to find a place that provides actual customer service. Getting yelled at across the parking lot, getting angry phone calls, and being told that you can't cancel your service because they just don't feel like it are all things you should not have to deal with as a customer. I've already found another facility nearby to transfer my belongings to and when I explained this situation to them, they laughed. Just stay away. read more

Bait & Switch!!! What lease is only good for 6 months!!!!!! They lure you in with a great rate but then at month 6 they jack up your rent so you are SCREWED!! Not much choice, what are you going to do scramble to find another place, get a truck and move out all of your stuff in 5 days? (Because that's the grace period they "give" you to get out -so if not out by then you are charged a daily prorated amount based on the new rate!!) so knowing you are not likely going to be able get organized in time to move out- you are stuck paying the new rate!!! All that money you thought you'd save because of that "great deal" HA what a joke!! They make it back 10x with the new higher rent!! Find another place to store your stuff!!!!! read more

The unit itself is okay, but there is never any carts available, main door going into building can be pushed open. The keypads are placed so that unless you basically touch the fender of your vehicle (pickup) onto the pole you cannot reach keypad. read more

I do NOT recommend this place. Its always filthy and in poor repair. Doors frequently broken, lights out, broken glass at the doorway. Key pads for entry are in a precarious place and impossible for me to reach without getting out of my car. Main gate has been broken for months- it doesn't open all the way. Customer service is awful. I was on auto-pay with my credit card company and Public storage declined the payment- twice in one month. My credit card company repeatedly told me it wasn't them- it was on the storage facility's end. I had to bring more things there- so we sent a THIRD payment just to have immediate access. It took months to resolve. Regional manager must not really exist- because after multiple phone calls he NEVER called back. The rental fees increase frequently and by a ridiculous amount. they try to charge late fees even though the bank can verify exactly what day the funds were received. read more

Horrible!! Please beware as the gates and doors are always broken at this location! Security is a huge concern here! The loading dock door is always wide open and broken, anyone can go in and out!! The gates are open and bent and broken as well! We brought it to the attention of management on numerous occasions and no one cares! read more

this place is trash!!!! out of desperation, i had to rent a 10x10 space to put my son's things in when he left for the navy, and for such a small place, $164 is disgusting but then...then...not even 2 months later, they raised the rent $25 to now be $190 and it is not worth even half of that!!! i rented the space in july 2017, and have never been late one single time with the rent but i totally forgot to pay it this month and they put a $31 late fee on the rent totally $214!!! first of all i do not think it is even legal for them to raise my rent by such a large amount and in such a short amount of time!!!! i called them and asked if they could waive the late fee since i have never been late and i would pay as soon as i got home and she said "no, we don't waive late fees"!!! the rent is 1 day late!!! one day!!!! i told her they are disgraceful and do not deserve to be in business. i have to get my things out of there into someplace else. do not use this place no matter what. please, please do not give these scammers any more business....if anybody knows the laws about a storage company's raising of the rent, please respond to this review. they have some damn nerve charging this amount for such a small space....i am reporting them to the attorney general just so they can keep an eye on their rent raises and the frequency of them...i am reviewing this place on every single social media outlet possible....they suck!!!! read more

This place is a joke. I was there today, anyone could walk right in, doors kept opening without code. No carts to be found anywhere, had to carry a love seat on my back. Pressed the intercom button and got no response. Drove to front office, doors were locked, lights on and no one was there. Called as well, no answer. My rate goes up almost every month and the place is a mess. Debris in the hallways, broken doors, broken camera, etc. Would NOT recommend. read more
