If I could leave a zero rating, I would. I visited this location to get a quote, and was asked what I would be storing. I informed the associate "channel letter signs." I explained what a channel letter sign was, and informed them that we would need to move some shelving in as the signs are typically 12' to 15' or longer. I asked if this was a problem and was told "No, you will just need to make sure the shelving is removed by the end of your lease."
Approximately two weeks later, I went to the same location to reserve a 30' unit. I was assisted by a different associate, and was again asked what I would be storing. I provided the same answer, including that we would need to build some wooden shelving to make it easier to organize and store the signs. Again I asked if that was a problem, and again I was assured that it was not - - and was reminded that the shelving would need to be removed at the end of our lease. Working with the associate, we settled on a unit at the very end of the building so that the shelving could be built without interrupting traffic flow.
On May 7th, Angela called because the contractor was there to install the shelving (no holes drilled in the floor or any of the walls). She was informing me that it's against policy to have shelving in a Public Storage building. (I've seen shelving in Public Storage units previously).
I paid for a 30' unit - - one full year in advance. Angela is rude and completely unhelpful. Her staff members either are deceptive or uninformed - - it's one of the two. The person with the Public Storage uniform is responsible for providing accurate information. If I knew I wasn't going to be allowed to add the shelving, I would be renting down the street at another rental facility. I told Angela I need a refund, and she refused. We have yet to move a single thing into the unit.
My experience has been a joke. I asked for the district manager's name and number, and was provided a number only. Ten days later - - no call back. So, I tried their website. The "Chat" feature link doesn't work, and no option on their calling tree gets you to a customer service associate or complaint department. In other words, if you have an issue at one of their locations, GOOD LUCK getting a solution or even speaking with someone. Try calling another location, and the call routes you back to the Tucker location. To talk to Angela. The person whose staff provided incorrect information. read more
