Wow how the times have changed. All digital now and no one to show you around. No one on staff in the office. I rented a unit last month thinking this is going to be weird. Someone called me to walk me through their new digital only system and texted me a map of the location with arrows showing where my rental storage unit was. All worked out. Now 4 weeks later i have been trying to contact them for the last four days to cancel my storage unit and today on the 1 of august 2025 they answer and say i need to pay the full months rent because i went there this am at 7am. I went at 7 am hoping to talk to someone. I even knocked on the "onsite managers" door and no one answered. I have been out for days and due to them not answering their phones i am being charged for it and if i don't pay they want to send it to collections. Terrible terrible terrible. Stay away from these people. Taking jobs away from america familys !!!!! No good. read more

This was a small unit just a few item Xmas and Halloween some cloths paper work nothing big no furniture It was my moms unit she got a little behind on her rent a couple notices. Letter came she waited a little bit but she did pay off the balance owed not sure if storage was auctioned off already or was going to be either way she was charged full price but if unit was auctioned off already it should have been minus the auctioned items and if it wasn't auctioned she was never told to get her items or whatever she never was told what went on with her stuff and never got told about money I guess I'm saying was her items auctioned if so why was she charged full amount for unit and what happened to her items or money received by auction so she paid the rent and got no items where are they or where is the money The storage was under her name Patricia Weber 13981 Hubbard st Sylmar birdierenee3@gmail.com Can't remember the dates but sure there in your system read more

I just got done speaking to a very rude employee named Angie, she was bothered because she was interrupted during her lock check. We couldn't get access to our unit, & had the audacity to say to move that we were blocking the drive way. Instead of asking us if we needed anything her ignorant a** just assumed. the customer service rep. was professional and showed us the unit first before i made a decision to rent it. I did get the $1 promotion which should be all that i need. I rented a 15x5 and that was more than enough room. the only thing that was too much was the unit was too fr away from the lift. read more

getting the space is easy ! Getting to the space sucks , my unit is in the middle! You put your stuff in elevator and send it up ! Walk all the way to the stairs that are at the end of the building then walk to the elevator in the middle and unload the elevator then take it to the unit !!! One load then you start over !! Sucks big time!!! read more

Plan on having your unit forever because they will make it impossible to move out and you will be charged.

Be careful if you are planning to rent a storage with Public Storage. If you are renting during the month, you will be charged for each day until the first of Next Month. But, if you are leaving during the month, you will be charged for FULL month. AND Public Storage will rent your unit to next customer and charge the new tenant for extra day. This is a scam practice. Double charge for the same unit. read more

This is probably the worst location. The girls in the office are always on break and put the sign up that says they'll be back after lunch and it's like 4pm.... Basically anytime they wanna close their doors they do it. Literally have drove away and came back to see what's up. The fat one has the worst attitude!!!!! For no reason either. There is a certain employee named Erick that works here that is absolutely the most helpful, knowledgable, easy to talk to, and just doesn't quite until you are satisfied and certain that you have chosen a space that will fit your budget/needs. Erick, was very helpful and things went smooth. The unit (10x11) was clean & OK the whole process was easy & professional. However because it is an outdoor facility it needs to have general wear repairs done. Especially the walkways on second story. Otherwise I have no complaints and recommend. read more

Just wanted to praise the great service provided at public storage. Had used extraspace for many years and they just seemed to get worse. At my arrival I was greater by Amanda at the Sylmar location, friendly smile and very knowledgeable providing me just the unit size I needed. The paperwork was a breeze and she made the tour of the facility fun. She didn't allow me to leave until I made sure my entry codes were functioning to a satisfactory standard, really recommend not only the company but this site in general, Thank You Amanda keep up the good work. read more

Not a place I would use ever. I use PS again a large company but small in customer service. This location is old and beat down. I only used them 15 days, I checked in on a Saturday paid couldn't move in until Tuesday with no help. Came back Friday past office hrs. I couldn't access facility. Called left message with office nothing no response. Had to leave my vehicle over night with my belongings. I received call from the onsite manager. You been restricted to office hrs. I explain nothing I was over 26mins. I said where does it specify I would be restricted "your contact" I looked it over word for word nothing call main office. Was given# to District manager left message NO RESPONSE! Heartless explain that this decision would hurt my lively hood. The onsite are given authority they abuse the feel dominant and take advantage of power. Took my thing to a better storage clean newer and less expensive. Big Company treatment they hire low wage bullies. I had a good point so they refused to speak to me! read more

I was a prior customer of KISS storage and I guess public storage bought them out. As soon as that happened my rent started to increase every year! This time they are increasing to $20 extra! Crammed my whole two-car garage wood shop into a 5 x 15 x 8' high storage unit with a 36" inch door opening in the rain. Erick was really helpful in getting the paperwork done but didn't tell me until the last minute about the cost of insurance, another $10/month for the minimum $3K coverage and the mandatory $17 lock I had to buy because I had not brought my own that day. Haven't been back since my early December move. I dearly miss my tools being available now that they are in storage. read more

Angie and Jim worked great togerther helping me to choose the correct size storage room. Angie explain full details on the insurance the monthly cost, late fees, Jim was the person who would show the storage ask you if, you need extra items as boxes, etc. They both stated bring your own lock and key or they would sell one for $17.00. HAD OUR STUFF STOLEN. ALL OF IT. CLEARLY AN INSIDE JOB. Came back after a few months to find a different lock on our unit. No, the staff said, no problems with payment, and the lock was silmilar looking, but not the "Public Storage" lock you're pressured to buy, which had been on the unit. We managed to pop the pins on the hinge and pry the door open - EMPTY. EVERYTHING taken. Picked clean-- even the old letters and christening dresses which are of no value to anyone but us. ALL gone. And they had punched a hole into the next unit, but it was stacked full of heavy boxes of books, so there was nothing to take. They'd tried to get into the unit on the other side as well. There is only one sheet of drywall between units - anyone with a hammer can punch right through - so if they get into the unit next to yours, they'll get into yours too. Why replace the lock (with a similar one, that actually had the "Public Storage" stickers on it)? Cops theorize it allowed them to keep doing it, and that they had a supply of the "Public storage" locks. Other unit owners mentioned stories of break-ins. IF YOU'VE GOT STUFF THERE, GET IT OUT. Angie (staff on duty) was very nice, and sympathetic. Corporate (who you'll have to deal with) was absolutely horrible. read more
