Jo was amazing. She is a pro's pro and made my experience fantastic. She made sure everything was in order and did so with genuine sincerity

1 Star I have been a Public Storage customer since 2023, and the constant rent increases have finally driven me to leave. I started at $129/month. Since then, my rent has increased as follows: $129 $146 $177 $208 $219 $252 and now $292/month. That means my monthly rent has gone from $129 to $292 in about three years -- an increase of more than 126%. What is especially frustrating is how frequently these increases occur. The first came after only about six months, followed by additional increases roughly 9 months, 12 months, 9 months, 3 months, and 8 months later. I understand that businesses occasionally need to raise prices, and a reasonable annual increase would be understandable. But repeatedly increasing the rent on an existing customer to this extent is excessive. A unit that was affordable when I moved in has more than doubled in price. At this point, I have had enough and am moving my belongings elsewhere. If you are considering Public Storage, I strongly recommend that you do not base your decision only on the advertised move-in rate. Ask what you can realistically expect to pay after 6 months, 12 months, and two years. My experience shows that the initial price may bear very little resemblance to what you will eventually be charged. read more

Rent at your own risk and their motto if you experienced an is use their insurance Insurance only covers $300 They rent units that they know have problems existing issues and according to Josephine people don't realize they have an issue until they've moved out so my suggestion is don't move your stuff here. Please look somewhere else because Josephine will pretend that she's renting you as a decent unit when it's not especially in the building I've had two leaks three flooding ongoing flood for three months from runoff that she is completely ignored and now she's renting those units again and above those units is rotted, putrid water damaged fiberglass insulation. Uncontrolled rat population bugs frogs and water over flow Email incorporate Rick North series issues here they just wanted me to deal with a man name called Donald Sabina, who basically is not making himself very available when you have issues over here. They don't have an emergency line if something happens I informed Donald Sabiniano on April 17 and the corporation a leak in my unit and this company did absolutely nothing. In fact they denied that they had a problem and then by that time it started flood in July, so instead of asking me to move because it was necessary they blame me because I didn't voluntarily move when they didn't have a unit from me available in the first place and they did have a unit available for me. Josephine went ahead and rented it out even though we had talked about it several times. This building or buildings or sit next to federal land that riddled with rodents, they come into the building that they advertise his climate control, but it isn't the only time the AC comes on is at the end of the day and on a hot day the sun has already heated up all the glass doors that are on the backside of the sheet metal on the backside of the units so it's very hot in there. I don't know how these people can advertise climate control especially when they turn off the AC when there's a leak so basically you're paying for climate control but you're really not getting it. If you were from here I would suggest you go there on a regular basis. The fiberglass insulation is all molded because of the warmth in there during the winter season you'll hear frogs there's over population of Mars. I don't understand how these people cannot keep up the building upkeep and then ignore obvious problems and if you look above on the walls, you'll see molded fiberglass insulation that's not even covered. I've called the City Of Novato and I'm working to have them help but I have moved on from this disaster area that they call Public Storage plus they charge way too much rent and they should be reported the Consumer Affairs for false advertising climate Control. I was shocked to have my storage rent increase 100% in one year. They don't care about their long-term customers. They care about gouging, and no notice is given. Most people cannot move out at the drop of a hat. I will never rent from them again. read more

Josephine at the Public Storage in Novato, CA. was very professional and helpful for my move-in and all related business transactions. She even hunted down a moving cart for me on a busy day. Highly recommend. read more

Public Storage is a total racket. They charge you one price when you first start and then up at every few months $40. Being adjacent to a wetland many of their units leak leading to mold issues. My unit became infested with moths they did nothing about it. They're hard to reach rarely on the facility. The elevator feels like it's gonna break down every time you're on it. I will get out of there as soon as I have a place to put my things and never use them again. read more

I've had a mixed experience at Public Storage (Landing CT). On one hand, the security and accessibility are great. However, I am very disappointed with the management's pricing strategy. My monthly rate has increased by $100 twice in the last year. It's hard to recommend a place that punishes loyal customers with such frequent and significant increases. I am starting looking for another storage facility. read more

I've been there a few months. Have one of the smallest storage units. They have now raised my rent 55%! Are you freaking kidding me?

Yes same as what everyone else is saying, it is a total racket and they will raise your prices significantly. They charge a decent entry price but it will never stick to it. I can not recommend them, and will now look elsewhere. It's very disappointing. read more

Josephine is wonderful! She is kind and extremely accommodating. We appreciate her help and customer service :)

I've only rented from this place for a couple months but they're raising my rate $50 per month? Bait and switch (forgive the cliche). Now I know I'm dealing with people that want to take total advantage of their "customers". I knew the the place was "let me be nice" um "perhaps not the highest class place in Marin to visit". Trying to be generous. Really unhappy new customer. read more

This is a very clean well-maintained facility. Josephine and Enselmo (sp?) provided excellent customer service. It is well lite and I always feel safe there. My only grievance is that Public Storage keeps raising the rate on the units every few months. That would be okay if you were just renting for a short period but this is not affordable for long term storage. read more

Josie was amazing!! she could tell I was nervous because it was my first time having a public storage unit and she went above and beyond and showed me my storage unit, showed me how to use the lock, and guided me every step of the way! This Public Storage is the best facility we have used over the years. The facility is spotlessly clean and well run. The staff are kind and helpful. Back in 2020 my oldest brother had a stroke. He was moved to an assisted living facility. We moved some of his property to public storage. Throughout the years the rent got higher. They are now billing me $528 a month for a $399 10 x 10 unit. I talked to Josephine who gave me the GM's name and number. His name is Donald Sabiniano. Talked to him today . Said he will call me later after he contacted higher ups. No call back. What a sham. So wrong read more

We just moved in to our space in this storage facility today and had a wonderful experience. I was greeted by the manager Josephine who was extremely helpful and professional! She was very patient and courteous as I asked probably too many questions. She also checked on us to make sure we had what we needed and everything was going ok. The building is very clean and equipped with many carts to ease the moving process. I was thankful since we have a second floor unit. I highly recommend Public Storage at this location. read more

It's a nice facility---clean, well-run. They are very lucky to have Josephine as the manager, because she's fantastic. The place is SUPER clean, painted, by far the best storage I've ever had. I was unhappy about some elements and gave Josephine some grief (remaining polite, just sharing concerns). She kept her cool, remained polite and not defensive. It's clear she's concerned about making it a great experience for customers. Public Storage, not so much! This company is serving the usual corporate nickel-and-diming. I'm only there because it was the best option to get my stored stuff close enough to where I live that I can get it sorted over the next six months and get a smaller space. A couple things to be aware of, which is not explained to you until it's too late: 1) you're charged from the date you sign the contract, not the date you reserve to move in. This important fact was never explained to me until after I paid. So I reserved the place on the 14th as of the 21st (and actually wanted to move in on the 25th!) but was charged from the 14th, an extra week. 2)They charge you a full month, then prorate the remainder of whatever month you move in for the next month which is due at the beginning of the following month. This ends up being the same amount, but it is backward from how it would reasonably by charged and all about getting as much of your money into their cash-gobbling maw as quick as possible 3) They automatically add insurance, which you have to go into the office and sign a waiver to remove (your home or renters will usually cover this). 4) They add a charge for a lock, which you have to go into the office with your own lock to remove. 5) Their app doesn't work. I have never been able to open the gate from my phone. But every time I got there, they send me a code to download the app, and encourage me to use it. But there's no tech help if it doesn't work, so---I have to get out of my car and enter the code every time. 6) that famous 1$ first month? It's neve available at the site you want...it's called bait and switch. Anyway--really nice site, entirely because of Josephine!! read more

There's good customer service, there's great customer service, and then there's Una. Una is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. She made a challenging time a lot easier. She said something like: moving is stressful enough, and storage should be the easy part. She made this part of it not just easy - I left smiling! The facility is clean and seems to be very well-run. First time using a storage facility and so far, I'm extremely impressed. Glad I found this place and glad I met Una! read more

We were looking for a storage unit several years ago. This was at first a bit more reasonable and close to our home. It became clear after about a year when they raised the rent significantly that we should try to find a smaller unit somewhere else to save money. We rented another public storage in Santa Rosa but after showing up during business hours and having to wait for the employee for almost three hours to let us in (the gate code that was given to us was incorrect) we decided to keep our original space in Novato but were charged double rent for a month. After another year the rent was raised more than it was worth so we decided to vacate our unit before we were charged another month. Our unit was on the second floor and besides the stairs there is only one elevator to haul the heavy stuff. When I came to move out it was out of service and I had to haul everything down the stairs which was a liability because of its size and weight. I requested a discount from the management and heard back later that they couldn't do anything because my account was now closed. So I contested the final months rent with my credit card but this angle didn't work either. In short, once they have you in a position where you're dependent on their storage, they raise the rent with little regard for their customers. read more

Josie was great. Place is clean and staff is very friendly and helpful! Would recommend to anyone looking for storage in Marin!

They make it very easy to rent and move your things in. App controlled gate is a plus. But this location often had the gate wide open without any auto closure. Didn't make me feel like the property was very secure. Tough to reach the manager of the property. What's worse, they initiated a 25% rate hike 6 months into the rental without any notice. I phoned and requested a review, and they instantly changed it back to original price. Open email today to find that my auto-payment was 25% higher again! Only 3 months later. What's the use of an app and online account if they don't provide any documentation of rate hikes within your account. They claimed to have mailed something, but I have the USPS Informed Delivery and have never seen one piece of mail from Public Storage. Definitely not a fan of Public Storage and will go back to a locally owned facility. read more

I got a quote and was moved into a unit the same day. Prices go up, of course but upon move out, I had zero mold or mildew on any of my belongings or furniture and the lovely woman in the front office was super helpful, had me checked out literally the moment we were done emptying my unit. That saved me an entire month of rent right there. I highly recommend these storage units to anyone who is looking for a secure, safe and clean place to store their belongings. Thank you!! read more

I'd originally reserved a spot in downtown SF to store my shit until I found a perm apartment. Finding it small, damp, and difficult to move in to, I asked for an alternate location and found this one in Novato. They offered a drive-up 10x15 for $380/month. Not cheap, but considering I was only going to be there 6 weeks and the first month was $1, it sounded like a great option. Upon arriving, they had me ready to go and move-in was easy. The driveways are nice and wide, so you're not trying to squeeze by your neighbor while getting to your unit. All the people I dealt with in the office were friendly and competent. When my keys and access code (in my wallet) were stolen, they immediately changed the code and thew an additional lock on until I could come up and get things straightened out in person. When I finally did find an apartment in SF, I went up to start clearing out my unit and asked how much notice I'd need to give. I'm pretty sure the contract said 7 days, but they just let me move out the next day and didn't bill me for anything after that. Considering the financial hit I'd just taken due to the above mentioned incident, it was a very nice gesture. read more

Melissa helped me with filling out paperwork for another location; I wanted to secure a storage space for the month of November, but I wouldn't be in that other location's area until a couple of weeks later. Although Melissa wasn't sure of the policy, she called the other location to find out more information. Paperwork got faxed over, and I filled it out. I was grateful to have the option to fill out paperwork locally (Novato), so that I could secure a space to secure my vehicle at a location closer to the airport. However, a couple of things were frustrating. I had to leave the office because Melissa needed to help other customers and lock up the facility. I was ok with that, however, she didn't tell me that she was back. So I had waited outside longer than I needed to, and I already had tons of errands to run before the commuter traffic was going to start. The other thing was the other Public Storage location (near the airport) didn't get all the paperwork faxed to them; Melissa had forgotten to fax the addendum and the receipt. I then had to fax them myself; for some reason, there was an error, and I had spent 1.5 hours trying to send the fax from home, before giving up. I then put the documents in the mail. Melissa was really nice, but things could have run more smoothly. I'm at least happy that I was able to secure the storage spot. read more

I have to say this place is great, they are helpful, they are very reasonably priced and work with you to find a unit and rate that fits your needs. They offer great discounts both for the first month and ongoing.
