My rent started at $84 last November. I was just notified that my rent for September will be $161. So in less than one year, my rent has practically doubled. That has to be one of the most deceptive business practices I've seen. Im not even sure how this is legal. read more

We are paying over $300 a month to store our belongings and furniture in a climate controlled unit on the 1st floor. Everything is covered in black mold and ruined from moisture damage due to improper climate control. We've tried calling the regional manager multiple times and have either never heard back or received a response that there is nothing much they can do. We were also told that the storage unit insurance we pay for will "not cover much". We can't get out of this storage unit fast enough. Do NOT use this storage facility unless you want to pay a premium price for your items to be ruined by mold. read more

They don't even have a switch when you try to get in the door to keep the door open for you have to move your keeps shutting you would have to keep putting in your the sidewalk isn't even even so your stuff rolls. They have done everything they possibly can to make it so inconvenient and a struggle for you so don't go to extra storage cause that's a scam. Don't do Public Storage because even if you are sick and you can't get there to pay they don't care they'll overcharge you every charge that they could possibly come at you with and they don't care. Five years ago I rented a storage locker in the secure, climate controlled building on site to store special items (keepsakes, diplomas, books, etc.) when I moved. Two days ago - having not been there for four months, I arrived to find the door to the building broken - it was shutting and then immediately opening automatically. The air inside was hot and muggy. In my storage locker, my boxes were damp to the touch. The smell of mildew was overpowering. Blankets, clothing, and pillows smelled strongly of mold and needed to be discarded. Many of the books were warped due to moisture. Mold covered many of the solid objects - some unimportant, some irreplaceable. I went to the office to complain, but it was closed. I went back yesterday to discard some of the destroyed items. The door was still broken. Still hot and muggy. The office was still closed. I went back today to retrieve more destroyed items and moist boxes. Door still broken. Office still closed. I called customer service. After some doing, I was able to speak to a human who told me that a ticket for repair of the door had been put in at some point in the past. She agreed that it was mystifying that on site management seemed to be missing, and seemed not to be doing anything about the door. I noted that I've been paying extra for five years to have climate controlled storage, and now my items are rubbish because of the lack of climate control. She put me on hold for 27 minutes. Then my call was disconnected. My advice: go somewhere else. read more

Terrible facility and company: elevator doesn't work 25% of the time and it's only path to an upper floor unit; there are no stairs, nor an alternative. Light bulb has not been fixed in the two years I was there. In those two years, the price went up from $420 to almost $700. Punitive fees (20%) and extortionary policies. Do not ever use this storage facility! I rented a climate controlled unit to store the contents of my house for a year. When the movers came to pick up my stuff mold was all over everything. 2 boxes were sopping wet with obvious signs of water! The storage facility denied it was their problem and the extra insurance I purchased for the year offered $100 for all the contents. I had contents ruined from a 5 bedroom house! Stay far away from this storage company!!! They couldn't care less about their customers and charge four times more than any other storage facility around. When I called to question the reason for increasing their monthly fee's by $70, she had no reason except that they can raise their fee's at any time, mind you, this is the second time in one year. I understand possibly $25 but almost $100 in one year? Almost $600 for a 10x10 unit. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Extra Storage, they're less than half the price. My ex added me as an authorized user and was told I could have the lock cut after I traveled 5000 miles to remove my items. NOPE I came today and was told he had to do it in person or fill out a form and wait 7-10 days. Why did they NEVER tell him that so it would have been done instead of saying I could just come in to have it cut? And I can't even cut it myself or risk getting arrested. So much hate right now and another year or more I have to spend a thousand dollars paying for this storage unit. read more

I reserved a unit online and the manager Eunice immediately called me to introduce herself. Eunice wanted me to make an appt and I kept telling her I'm not sure what time I will be available and she just kept pushing me for a time. I finally told her that I will come right now. I get there and the door is lock with a sign saying be back at 1:30. Eunice was not back at 130 and I waited in my car for awhile. Eunice did not even apologize for having me and an older couple wait so long. When Eunice arrived she helped the older couple with their storage. I noticed she was very rude talking to them. Eunice told me to wait in my car while she showed the couple a unit because she had to lock up. I was fine sitting in my car until I noticed they came back and not once did she wave me inside or come to my car and say hello we are back. I sat in my car for about 15mins while she was inside with the couple. I ended up leaving and getting a storage unit with extra storage up the street. Eunice if you are reading this, please know that you are rude. You need better customer service skills. When someone walks in your establishment treat them like a guest. When you finish showing a unit and you have a customer waiting outside, invite the customer back inside. I would advise anyone to go to Extra storage up the street. read more

Worst place to store your important items, they will ruin all your stuff as all there units have a leak in the back of the unit that will destroy all your item over time. Also the lady in the front office is terrible, rude unhelpful and to be frank just a bad person. Selling our house was breeze. Finding a new house, not so much. We needed a place to store our belongings after we had to move out and before our new house would ready thanks to some not so good decisions. With precious little time and our move out date fast approaching we were able to first secure a 10x20 and a 5x10 unit but with Eunice's help and some timely visits to the facility we were able to swap the upstairs 5x10 unit for a drive up 10x20 unit! That change will make things infinitely easier for the movers and save us a great deal of money since the movers won't have to use an elevator and can simply unload the truck into the storage space! Eunice was extremely helpful in every way - from changing units to exchanging the site's locks for our own locks. I was exhausted just watching her work. I would highly recommend this location to anyone. It's clean, bright, airy, secure, and easily accessible. The only difficulty you'll find is that they might not have any units available! read more

DONT rent a unit on the 2nd or third floor. In our building, elevators are often out of service. The other day both elevators were OOS. We had to carry a dresser down a flight of stairs. The manager offered to help, but if I had a big move happening we would have had to cancel. read more

I just rented two 10x15 units - one climate controlled which I intend to keep for a year, and one standard which I need for a month. Since I haven't used them yet my rating is only for the initial sign up process. The manager Eunice was very attentive and knowledgeable and helped me get the lowest rate. She is very hands on and seems to run a tight ship. Charlie was also very helpful and customer-focused. I will write an update after six months usage. read more

I would give a zero if I could. We had a CLIMATE CONTROLLED indoor unit. When we moved out all of our furniture including our dining room table, chairs, bench and multiple shelves plus shoes, knives, clothing and other items were covered in mold and fungus ruining much of our furniture. If that wasn't bad enough the "relief manager" was less than empathetic and when making sure we were informing to correct person of the issue she informed us the property manager was off and she would "tell you the same thing anyway". I recognize there's a process and that's fine but the attitude when we were kind in asking how we can reconcile this issue since all of our belongings were ruined was uncalled for. Do not expect an inside climate controlled unit to prevent damage, better yet just don't use this company if you don't want damaged belongings and staff who could care less about how their customers are treated. read more

We have problems with the doors constantly open, both the security gate and the building doors. Climate is supposed to be controlled, but our belongings now have mold and bugs. Spiders have made the place their home-there are webs on the walls and on all the unit doors, and inside our unit. The security lights outside have been out for months, making night transactions unsafe. The place is dirty. Someone delivered what seemed like an entire household of belongings blocking units and management was unwilling to help and recommended I move their belonging myself to get in my unit! (dressers, couches, tables, etc!) Complaint submitted to corporate, and next to better business bureau! Dirty, unsafe, unclimate controlled=NOT GETTING WHAT PAID FOR and will have to throw out most belongings! read more

I was totally duped. I was quoted a price and committed, but when I arrived --- with my movers and a truck full of my stuff -- I was then told that insurance was required, so it would cost another $11 minimum a month to insure my things. Then I was also charged FOR THE LOCK. The storage place charges you for the lock to the storage unit you're paying for. And of course does not include that info or that cost in your quote. Then, a few months later, they upped the price another ~$15 a month. But now I'm in, so I can't easily/cheaply move my stuff out and into another facility. I feel absolutely stuck and completely taken advantage of. Not happy and will not use PS in the future because of these issues. read more

The property is very poorly maintained. The gate is very often locked open more than that he door to the building itself has been broken and stuck in the open position for over 8 months. The property manager referred me to regional manager. If this isn't resolved Ill have to move out of he unit . Everything in it is at risk. It is suppose to be climate controlled obviously the wide open door to the building makes that difficult at best. read more

The doors to our building were broken throughout that rental period & despite three (very patient & friendly) requests from me to fix, the problem never was fixed. We had a unit here from Nov 1st thru August 1st...or should I say we paid for that amount of time. We are moving to South Carolina in Sept so my mom was trying to save me some money so we emptied our bin and told the front desk we emptied the bin BUT we would probably need to come back..now remember bin is totally paid for thru 8/1...we were told to make sure we took our lock off the unit for inspection so we did...guess what 3 days later we did need to return to the bin and found ourselves totally locked out of the facility...so called general manager Stephen to complain about this little matter got absolutely nowhere with him..I did find out they removed totally out of the system just hours after we left even though we stated WE MAY HAVE TO COME BACK.......I WILL NEVER USE PUBLIC STORAGE EVER AGAIN...THEY CHARGE YOU THE WHOLE MONTH AND THEN WILL LOCK YOU RIGHT OUT IF YOU MOVE YOUR STUFF WITHIN THAT MONTH EVEN THOUGH THAT BIN STILL BELONGS TO YOU!!! read more
