He was very detailed walked me to my unit and was able give me one by the elevator plus they have cart to move your stuff from outside to the unit. Rented a unit, on my move in date I could not find anyone to help me. Space did not meet my needs (space was smaller than it stated online) so needed something else. No one ever in the office and I stopped by the office 4 times throughout the day. After also calling over 30 times to multiple phone numbers, no one ever answered. I left several voicemails and no response either. I went through the live chat and that didn't help either. I scheduled a move out on the same day. A day later I get a call and they tell me I can't get my money back because I didn't cancel on the same day, but how can I cancel if I couldn't get a hold of anyone!?! What a rip off! WORST PLACE EVER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! STAY AWAY EVEN IF ITS A "GOOD DEAL"! I wasn't able to get a refund after our unit was broken into not even 24hrs from putting our lock on it. It was online for $58 a month with fees and insurance I paid $93 to move in. Now I'm out of $93. Our unit was in the first front building in the second floor. They don't have any cameras inside the building. I then realized there is an opening in the fence on the side of the first building by the river bed after the break in. I'd also like to mention that the person who called to tell me about the break in told me that between the hours of 6pm-9pm the cameras are off and there is no staff on site.. aka it's a free for all! Worst part is the lock was not damaged, the door/wall was pried open. Apparently the drywall walls are weak and anyone can punch the wall in and still break in. We should've listened to the reviews and not taken our chances. DONT RISK YOUR PROPERTY FOR A FEW BUCKS. Look for other options or different location. read more

Initial Set up is great afterwards was a nightmare Raises prices a few months after signing up with a unit without notification. District Manager, Margaret Summers, accused me of leaving the facility late causing the alarm to go off but it was actually someone else using my code reviewing the cameras (Not even close to what I drive). The hours of operations changes without any notification. Changed it to 6am-6pm due to renovations which is bogus because it's been going on for months! Emailed Corporate but got a response today (7/24/19) after 2 weeks from someone named Kate? The VM was not clear but I know that the hours changed from 6am-6pm while ago and she stated that it'll take 4 more months........ It's a money pit IMO. Yelp needs to have an option for ZERO STARS. Not even 24 hours from putting our lock on and our unit was broken into. We got a call saying it was broken into and to come in to change units. The lock was not damaged, the door/wall was pried open. We were out of town for the long weekend so couldn't come in. We come back a few days later to take a look and our lock is completely gone. (Mind you we bought our own to feel a little more secure after reading everyone else's reviews.) Front desk told us "oh they had to fix the unit so they cut your lock but we can give you a new one". We BOUGHT a lock out of pocket and when we asked who's reimbursing us for our lock we were simply told "call my district manager". KATIE the district manager doesn't answer her phone calls. I'd also like to mention that the girl at the front desk told us that between the hours of 6pm-9pm the cameras are off and there is no staff on site.. aka it's a free for all! Rented for RV storage. Rate increased slightly after a few months. No big deal. But a few months later they raised the rate over 40%! When I questioned them all they would say was that the rate was dictated by the local market rates, and they were still way below the average local rates, which is actually true. My issue was more about the huge increase all at once with little to no regard for customer service/retention. In addition, the space is just barely big enough for my RV. This is not unusual, but there is no margin for error, so everyone has to make sure they are parked within the lines. The last time I went to park my rig, the person next to me had parked over the line and I couldn't even squeeze in. This location seems to be secure enough, but it doesn't seem like they really police the property effectively. I don't think it's too much to ask to get what I pay for. Someone should be able to walk the lot (it's not that big) a couple times a day and make sure that the rules are followed. I could actually say a lot more about their corporate culture of greed and poor customer appreciation, but I really don't want to rant. On a positive note, the manager Margie is very nice. I just wish this highly profitable company placed as much importance on customers as they do on profits. After all, you can't have one without the other. read more

Went earlier today to try and leave some stuff in my storage unit. Upon arriving to the 3rd floor of building B the elevator started shaking and it felt as if it was going to fall before coming to a full stop.. Finally I got off the elevator only to realize I had chosen the wrong floor. Instead of trying my luck with the elevator again I decided to go down the stairs to the 2nd floor, well the door leading to there from the stairs was locked & there was no other way to get there besides the elevator... I choose this place specifically because they offered gate hours till 9 pm, plus air conditioning and lower cost @special offer. After 1 years of experience here - not happy at all! They have no access to the restroom, just pee in your pants after the office closed, they changed gate access hours to 6 pm,​ and you ll never get to your stuff after your busy working day. They have no trash/waist place on the location - so whatever trash you have you must take it with you back to the car. Aside of this they have no air conditioning and 3rd floor in summer days heating like a hell! They have homeless strangers inside of units. Our unit was broken into, and robbed. The perpetrators pried off the metal plate that housed the lock, bypassing it completely. Some of our storage containers were stepped on and ripped open, and items were stolen. Know that in cases like this, as I experienced, Public Storage doesn't call the police to investigate, nor do they file any reports. Since it's your property, they expect you to do it. However, instead of working with me to help recover my stuff, they immediately replaced the damaged plate and any evidence of the break-in BEFORE I had a chance to have law enforcement inspect it. In fact, the conversation notifying me of the break-in happened the next day, so by the time I arrived to inspect if for myself a few hours after the phone call, it was already repaired. I asked to see any surveillance video that may have captured what happened and was told the cameras weren't going to be any help because the image was too blurry. And that was it. They're not interested in helping you, so buyer beware. There is a perception that they would be in the business of not only providing storage space for your stuff, but also in the basic protection of their clients' property. The security they provide is only decoration however, and their units are a consequence free playground for thieves. Public Storage's only consolation was their recommendation that you shouldn't store anything you'd like to hold on to anyway. read more

I moved out on the 1st of April and they still charged me for the month of April. On top of that, the property manager told me she would schedule my move out and she never did so I almost got charged for another month on top of that. Also, she waited until the last minute to tell me that I'm still going to be charged despite moving out on the 1st. This place is a HUGE ripoff. I would not recommend it. Their policies are sketchy and their insurance claim process is super complicated for no reason. My storage unit got broken into and they didn't even do anything except give me a piece of paper with instructions on how to file a claim. If your unit gets broken into, you should automatically get something but instead I got ripped off. Oh, and insurance is mandatory so you're basically paying an extra 15 dollars month for nothing. Lastly, sometimes they won't include all of your expenses on the invoice and will try to charge you a random amount in the middle of the month out of nowhere. Like I said, huge ripoff. read more

Being a tenant in this storage facility was a great experience. Michelle was a very outgoing person, she was very charismatic and handled everything professionally. After my parents found out they have lost their home, I needed a place to store all their belongings. I called around for quotes and this facility beat everyone else. I needed 2 units and Michelle made it happen. We are currently at a new home with our belongings and no longer have to store out belongings. This place is infested with bats !! Sad to say i had to store my furniture here for the past year.its too much of a hassle to move my items since i live 3 hours away. A bat ran right into my head when i opened my door and the top of my roof to my unit was missing. i informed them that this unit was unrentable and they need to find me another unit. They never apologized and they said i would have to pay a difference if i wanted to move. I told them if they can adj 1 month off because thats a huge inconvenience to drive out there and find people to help me. they said NO they cant do anything about ANYTHING that has happened to me! Just vist the Montebello location on Whittier Blvd. Everything went well with the unit... until the customer service associate mention that Im only allowed to use their type of lock, that I have to buy one from them ($20) Or if not they are not responsible for lost of my belongings. I mention that I bought a pad lock from them a few years ago and she said that I can not use it because it's a pad lock. I feel is just another way to make another dollar. Just lost a customer! Public Storage has many locations to choose from. I was able to find one close to my house. After looking at a unit I realized it was too small. The staff transferred my hold to another location. When that did not work out they helped find the right size unit at a location closer to where I live. Abel and Jackie were very friendly and helpful. The one thing that I was not informed of ahead of time was that Public Storage requires the renter to buy renters insurance, a small amount but I had not counted on it when shopping around. read more

The only thing they could change is their hours of access to the facility. Wish a little bit later access to drop off and pick up would be nice. When I went there to get my unit there were two girls there just sitting talking to each other while stuffing their faces with pizza. It took us aver an hour to get the unit. The unit was next to others where a man was stuffing his unit to the top who broke the wall that was my unit I brought it to the attention of the girls and they said okay I took photos and kept them. I went to use the restroom oh my gosh the rest room looked dirtier than the ones in shabby gas stations paper on the floor no toilet paper , no paper towels or toilet seats.. I had no choice but to store my things there as this is the only one that was reasonable and the billing is terrible always having to call them and make the corrections its a hastle. I had another Public storage but moved due to the distance and transferred here thinking it was the same company same service so wrong... I am even afraid to go to the unit I have to be accompanied with a male friend due to all the tenants there are very scarry that are around my unit... read more
