I don't usually write bad reviews but here's one for this place. I rented a 5x10 for $26 a month which was a promotional price if I book it online. Regular price was $46. I just got a notice they're going to raise my rate $10 a month come March 1st. If I go online the same size unit is now promo price at $22 and if you walk in the store and rent it it's only $31. When I call to talk to them they tell me they can extend the promotional pricing only three more months and then after that it will go up. So if I want to move all my stuff from one 5x10 space to another 5x10 space I can save even more money until they decide they want to raise my rate. I asked them if I could sign a 12-month and they said no we only do month to month and basically we get to raise your rate anytime we damn well please. So I'm not really happy with them right now and I guess I'll see if I can find something else that's comparable. What a joke. read more

When I first rented at this Life Storage on Windhaven in Lewisville everything was fine. I did everything over the internet. This past November (2023) I planned to move out because I have a garage to use. Much to my surprise my rent skyrocketed on my ACH payment. Original rent went from $159.00 to $289.00. I have insurance included. An $80 jump in 1 month. The office staff said notices were mailed. I rarely check my mail, I pay attention to my email and phone calls. Both people I spoke with (a man on the phone who said he was an assistant manager) and I visited with the store manager (a black woman) who's name I've forgotten. Both told me I would receive a refund of approx $90 if I was moved out by Nov. 10. And I was. I stopped by the office about a month later to inquire about my refund. The same manager sort of fumbled around saying they may not have approved it. I'll send it again and call you. Of course that call has never come, no one answers the phone and I leave messages. We had to sell our house and move into an apartment due to my husbands health. Obviously with the struggles we are on a tight budget while he gets back on his feet. We put most of our furniture in the Public Storage. I shopped pricing and picked a unit on the 3rd floor way in the back to keep it affordable. We had movers get it all in there as we can't lift that kind of stuff. 4 months into it PS informs us they are increasing our rent by 30%!!! That is a lot to us. I could understand 5 or 10, but 30 after the fact??? I offered to sign a 12 month contract to keep it at the amount we signed up for but they said no. We will pay them $700 more over the next 12 months than what we budgeted. It would cost a lot to rent a truck and hire movers to move it again so we are stuck. Do not rent from this greedy corporation. Pick a mom and pop storage facility or anyone else. Public Hostage really knows how to screw the community. read more

This is rated 4 stars (good), it's really 4.5 stars, not quite 5 stars. The rental process was very easy, did it all online, worked perfect, got the deals that were advertised, at the prices advertised. I went to the unit after hours the first time, there was one of those plastic ziplock type of lock on the door. We snapped it off, and inside was our permanent lock with 3 keys. Could not ask for the whole process to be any easier. The place is HUGE ! Took us a while to find our unit, didn't realize there was another 1/2 behind the gray doors. So, facility wise, reservation process, all is great, highly recommend. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of a lack of carts to bring our stuff to the units. On Sunday, it looked like there was 3 carts. and not enough for everyone waiting. That is not good, It can take a while to go to the unit, load, or unload. Rolling cars are cheap, but some more. So, if there was enough carts, it would be a 5 star review. All is good, our stuff is safe, in a good climate controlled environment, and it's close to our home. read more

They were excellent at first in 2017 when I first started doing business with them and Courtney was their on-site resident manager. The rates did increase but in all/ nominal amounts but I also kept checking for rate drops and would move into a cheaper unit, we size most of the time. There was no fee to transfer between units. But Courtney left in 2018 and then the business relationship & management went downhill from there. I moved out after a steep $50/ month rent increase after only being in a new transfer unit just 4 months!! I stayed in it no longer than an additional 4 months. I understand that these storage facilities must be profitable and have operating costs but folks who rent 4-6 months or longer deserve a stable rate/ lock-in for their continued patronage or else they'll just keep moving their stuff, like I have. Bitter-ending when I left since the tacky resident manager called the police on my son for not abandoning our items after the facility closed at 9p. The irony was Lewisville PD was a class act!! They realized that we had obviously emptied the unit, completely but we ran out of time for loading the rest out of building into our cars so the PD just assisted us with moving the rest of our things to the outside of the building. We tried telling the rude manager that's all we were trying to accomplish in the first place but we're black people so she just called police anyway. I won't be back. read more

I am really angry at this facility. I have been there a year and a half, and with no warning they raise my rent every 6 months.

They say you can move in for $1.00. But, the rent is $1.00 for the first month, but after they charge you a one time admin fee. Insurance (which is required at move in), the special lock, taxes and other miscellaneous fees, it cost me almost $70.00! That is NOT move in for $1.00! I did everything on line, but had to go in to find out where the unit was. The guy that was in there was not very friendly. read more

New storage facility off 121. Love that it's closer to our house and the units are all clean and temperature controlled. I like that there is a spacious elevator available including dolly for us to use for loading/unloading our belongings. Also, there are security cameras available which provides a sense of security for safety. They offer great prices especially at this time since they are a new location. I recommend booking their deals online. Yesenia was superb at assisting us. She was very friendly and knowledgable. She made the registering process very easy and seamless for us. In 6 months my rate went from 160 to 250 a month for a 10 by 10 unit then i saw the same unit i could rent online for 105 when i asked why i was paying more than double they offered to lower my rate which they did to 242 dollars. I cancled and moved out then they still trued to charge me another 242 dollars because they claimed i moved on the 1st not the 28th of feb. Luckily they had an honest employee at the location that validated my moveout and finalky it was credited. Do not use this company. When I moved in, got ripped off with so many unnecesary additionals. Add $80 to the internet "all you will pay to move in" price. Three months later I vacated my unit on July 29th, went to the office and told them my unit was free. I walked up to the unit with a lady, she checked it and said I could leave and she would take care of the paperwork. 10 days later I get an email claiming the August payment or it would be sent to a collection agency. The lady had not taken me off the computer! Had to call customer service about five times. After a couple of weeks, although they accepted my claim, my "debt" was not erased since the only person that could actually fix it was the regional manager and she never seemed to have time. I decided to just pay and forget about it, can't spend my life fighting over a few dollars. Very poor experience. read more

It's a clean facility but they keep raising the monthly rental. It's been raise multiple times since I got my unit almost $100 increase in total. It also appears that they have someone living on site. There is frequently people hanging out on the side of the building. Recently moved here and realized I brought too much stuff. Looked up some places and this was the closest so I decided to stop in and check it out. Vicki helped me out and she was very nice and professional. She brought me up to the unit to make sure my things would fit. She told us all the security features this had which are awesome if you are worried about it. They do require you to get insurance which will add about $10-15 depending on which one you get but its worth it to keep your things safe. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. read more

This facility is very clean, I was helped by Yesenia who was very professional and took the time to explain all the information as well as answering my questions. I would have rated this location higher but I was not happy with the fact that when I got there I was told that the storage unit size 10' x 20' that I'd rented online had a tiny door and I had to end up upgrading to a slightly larger unit 10' x 21.5' for an additional $11/mo AND I had to also pay for insurance, which ran up the monthly fee well over $20 higher than the unit that I had reserved online! Other people might be okay with this, I am not, BUT I had to bite the bullet and just pay it! Again, this doesn't reflect on the fabulous job that Yesenia did, this is strictly on the company and its policies! read more
