My truck reservation wasn't honored and I had to pay $125 extra for a temporary rental. Staff seemed reluctant to help, so I booked storage online instead. When I closed my unit early, there was no thanks--just a flat "your account will be closed." Cold service; U-Haul really needs better systems and customer care. read more

Overall this Public Storage is fine but there have been some very bothering things recently that have us concerned. Our unit is on the 3rd floor and over the past couple of month's the east section of the 3rd floor smells like rotting flesh or meat. Something either food or a dead animal is up there rotting. Recently there are lots of fly's and gnats in the hallways. (((update Augusts 2019 - The rotting smell is dissipating))) Additionally when i come early in the morning there is usually someone sleeping in the hallway on the 3rd floor. This is unacceptable. The doors always work and so does the elevator but these two issues have us leery of leaving our things there much longer. read more

I appreciate the time and effort Rachelle put into my reservation just before closing hours. After a long moving day and late arrival for move-in, I realized the storage space I reserved was too small. Rachelle was able to modify my reservation to meet my needs. Thanks to her, we were able to move our storage without an issue today! read more

Meeting Rochelle (new store manager) was quite an experience. She was warm and down to earth. Very knowledgeable and precise. There was no apprehension on her part to inform us of policy, billing, insurance, emergency services, guidelines and store merchandize. We were extremely pleased with her level of professionalism. Her commitment to ethical standards, courtesy, customer service and accurate well explained details were above and beyond. I hope I didn't misspell her name. She was awesome and a real asset to our Public Storage location. Upfront, Honest and Committed! Thank you bunches read more

This picture sums up my experience with public storage. Every six months the prices continue to go up and you can't get in your unit in the hours they promise you can get in. This is the third time I've been here past when the building is supposed to be opened. There's no number to get a hold of someone to let you in either. You're at the mercy of when the person at the front desk shows up. Would highly advise staying away. *Update* they changed access hours 9:30a-5 Monday-Sunday. Did not receive notification, public storage HQ did not receive notification either. read more

Public Storage - Time clock showing that they are still closed and at 7:30. Unit is supposed to be open by 6 AM. - Self Storage Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

When I went to my unit for the first time I met Chad. He was exceptionally helpful, cheerful and made the total experience a pleasure.

The renting process was hassle free and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

It looks like a new facility located just north of downtown. Access is easy from Illinois or St. Joseph St. I have a non-climate control unit, but it is located on the 2nd floor (sandwiched between the climate-controlled 3rd floor and the ground floor) so it is like it is climate-controlled. There are dollies and carts available for use (free) and there is an on-site manager at all times that the facility is open, which is nice. The elevators are fairly new and fast unlike some other storage facilities around town. read more

Rachelle and Ellie are amazing, if you are thinking about putting stuff in storage I definitely recommend this location! I had to get a storage unit because I was moving out my dorm and couldn't take all my stuff back home. Rachelle is hilarious and is truly a great person, 100000/10 I definitely recommend :) read more

These two ladies, rachelle and Ellie , were incredibly helpful and made my day!! Will continue using this public storage facility.

We moved from Florida back to Indiana and needed a small storage unit for our belongings until our house was ready. We rented from the PS off of Illinois street. My mother worked for PS for several years many years a go and she liked it but said the pay wasn't that great. initially when we rented the unit we paid a pro-rated amount since we moved in the middle of the month. The unit we rented is supposed to be climate control but it was freezing in the winter and sweat dripping hot in the summer. Then one of the units by the elevated on the third floor smells of urine every time we walked by. I'm pretty sure someone was living in the urine unit. Fast forward to move out day.. we got everything completely out of the storage by the 2nd of the month and the property manager said we still were responsible for the entire month of May even though they are going to rent out the until and get paid double for that month. To me that's a scam and money hustling. Why would the move in rate be pro-rated but not the move out date? read more

Ellie and Rachelle were such a great help, public storage is lucky to have them!

June 25,2014......My bank had sent out 2 payments for the same month...EeeeK! Summer is not the time to be low on cash, but I thought, well i guess i don't have to eat for a week :-( . But hey NO Cindy, a hard working , keen eye employee of Public storage saw the 2 charges and called me to ask if that is what I wanted to do. You can imagine how thrilled I was when she said that she would only post one payment and return the second one back to me.....Woo Hoo! Honestly , this public storage has really been the greatest and the people who work for them exceptional. read more

Moving stuff in and out of storage is rarely a fun weekend activity. It usually happens around major life transitions as well, making the physical and emotional impact to be at best, extremely tiring... But usually more in the vicinity of a complete meltdown. When my mom passed away unexpectedly two years ago I found myself needing a little extra storage nearby for a couple months. That's turned into almost 2 years as life happens.. We recently were able to close the storage unit and it was another one of those physically and emotionally draining weeks. Fortunately, the customer service, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at this public storage franchise softened the blow. Every time I interacted with them, they were cheerful and helpful and focused on win-win solutions. The icing on the cake was today when I interacted with Hersheila, the property manager as I understand it. We had a very real, heart-to-heart set of conversations around some social justice issues that we see in and around the city. I could tell she cared for everyone she interacted with but held everyone to the same high standards of mutual respect, common courtesy and authentic conversations...regardless of their personal situation or background. And she was willing to see my perspective in a situation; she proposed a solution I wouldn't have even have considered would be "up for discussion." Bravo! And thank you... Sawubona! Everyone was friendly and very helpful at this site. I would definitely recommend this store.

Hershey Rocks! she was awesome! very friendly and polite. she knows her job very well. thank you Hershey! read more

Hershey is my girl! She was so helpful the two different times we've used this storage facility. When you rent a storage unit it's usually pretty straight forward - you pay the rent, get your key and move your stuff in and that's all you really expect from them but Hershey goes above and beyond. She's very friendly and you can tell she runs a tight ship because everything is clean, neat and tidy unlike some other Public Storage facilities I've used in the past. read more

Today I rented a storage unit at Public Storage on N Illinois in Indianapolis IN. The location manager, Hershey, helped me. She was very curtious, knowledgable, and extremely efficient. She explained everything about the property and lease agreement in detail. I was extremely happy with the service she provided and look forward to storing my items at this location read more

This is the absolute worst place you could choose to store ANYTHING in downtown Indianapolis. The last five times I have visited my storage unit there have been homeless people in the hallways of the building. They have items all over the floor and won't get out of your way when moving boxes. I have called the 1(800) number on multiple occasions with no help and the local manager is a joke as well. I have cancelled my storage unit and will be out by the end of the month. They do not care about you or your safety. Stay away!!!!!!! read more

Hershey was courteous, professional, informed and helpful - unexpected very positive experience!!!! Tom F.

Hershey is amazing at her job and she's the reason I have rented multiple units at this location. Always courteous, personable and very helpful. Would recommend this location over any other one in Indianapolis. read more

We recently needed to move the rest of our items from storage to Indianapolis. Adrian met my wife and I and made the experience great. He was fun and engaging while very informative and descriptive for our process. It's a little over the price from our small town but it's located in downtown Indy and temperature controlled so it's to be expected. I would recommend this Public Storage location for anyone needing a space downtown and there's a U haul location just down the street as well that was good to work with. Very convinent and a pleasant experience. Ask for Adrian and you won't be disappointed. read more

I am writing this review to compliment the service I received from Trish. I stopped in on a rainy Friday afternoon and I wasn't sure what I needed to do in order to secure the storage unit my husband reserved. She found our reservation quickly and proceeded to walk me to our unit to inspect it. She ensured I was satisfied with the unit and explained what we needed to know to access the unit. Trish was very professional, helpful, and friendly! Thank you! read more

The logistics of storing my things at this location were a nightmare. I reserved my space online, and I got email confirmations saying "Your reservation is all set up" and "see you on move-in day!" which led me to believe that all I needed to do was check in. The first problem was when I showed up that morning to purchase some TV boxes at the office and check in before my movers arrived. The office supposedly opens at 9:30, and when I showed up at 10 the doors were locked with a sign on the door saying "we'll be back at noon". I pounded on the door then had to leave to go meet my movers at my house (and find TV boxes somewhere else). When I arrived at Public Storage later with the movers and a full U-Haul, the office was still closed, but the sign now said "we'll be back at 3." I called every phone number I had to no avail- I just kept getting voicemail. We waited for 40 minutes outside in 98 degree weather before somebody finally arrived to open the office. The woman working was very rude and was not apologetic about keeping us waiting. She informed me that just because I made a reservation online did not mean that there was a space available and due to limited availability, I had to rent two smaller spaces instead of one large one. We finally got everything into the spaces- the units and facilities are fine, no complaints there. But a significant amount of time and money were wasted as we had to pay the movers for an extra hour of just waiting around, plus the cost of two units instead of one. Would not recommend!! read more

Hershey and her staff (Karen) rock! Hershey has been very kind and helpful over the past eighteen months that I had a unit there. I am very thankful for the staff at this location! read more

Versed. Knowledgeable. Down to earth. People Friendly. Personal & Professional. Those are just a few of the words I thought of when I left. Sometimes companies are out represented by the really terrific employees, making their character charming, and comforting, so much that it wouldn't matter what job they had. That? is Hershey...hands down. In the 20 minutes I was there, I was extremely impressed. Well rounded person with great attitude. She asked me what my concerns were before she even began to speak about what she had to offer. And I was thrown off by the way she said it. As if my problems were hers. But it wasn't scripted or fake at all...Who does that these days? She could have been selling tvs to blind people and I would have bought one just on personality itself. Thank you Hershey! I hope Public Storage does right by you. I loved her professionalism......AND I DIDNT EVEN GET A STORAGE.....now how fucking cool is that? read more

This was my first experience renting with Public Storage, and I am extremely happy. Tasha was amazing with every step of the process. She first made sure I got the best rate possible and then walked me to my unit. She was very thorough with all of the details and explanations of operating hours, usage of locks, elevator, etc. Tasha was very personable and even let me bring my bike inside while we walked around the building (I had lost my bike lock earlier that day). I am very happy with the unit I rented and I would recommend Public Storage to anyone who is looking for great storage units at a great price, with excellent customer service. Great work Tasha! read more

Hershey has helped me nearly every time I've been there. She does and excellent job and the facility overall is well maintained.

My recommendation/warning... DO NOT RENT from this storage facility. They scam and do not honor pricing agreements. Worst customer service experience of my life, which is saying something. I'm not one to usually post about a location or an experience no matter how poor it was. However, I feel a moral responsibility to inform as many people as possible to stay away from this property, specifically it's unethical and irresponsible manager, Ms. Freeman. The complete disregard of my rental agreement and lack of follow-up or communication from this locations manager, Ms. Freeman was inexcusable and my sole reason for vacating the property only 2 months after starting my lease. They did not honor their online rental pricing and owed me money which I'm sure I will never see. It was worth the hassle of moving storage units again and paying slightly higher to ensure a better experience. read more

Outstanding Customer Service. Hershey assisted me in resolving a bad situation with an inexperienced locksmith. If it were not for her guidance and leadership in solving the issue, I would not have been able to get into my storage unit on that day which would have delayed my donation to a local family who were in need... Thanks Hershey for everything!!! read more

I travel for work and this storage was closest to my place of employment. The security of this building is what sold me. Management and the staff are extremely friendly. My rate was reasonable considering I wanted a first floor storage. I would definitely rent here again. read more

Walked right in, great service, boom I have a climate controlled high security storage unit. Effortless. Thanks!

Just rented a 5x10 storage unit to hold some of our belongings while we stage and sell our house. This being the first time renting a storage unit, I had no idea what I needed. Trish and Lindsey were both very friendly and helpful. They have great attitudes and a sense of humor that was quite refreshing. They showed me to my new unit, a great location on the first floor. Checkout was quick, efficient, and easy. Would recommend this location. read more

I had an indoor unit, and then switched to a larger outdoor unit. Never really got excited about a storage facility before, but I have to say their main employee is great. Her name is Hershey and she always knows her stuff, is efficient, and answer questions in a friendly manner. She promised to let me know when an outdoor unit was available and she did. She had us on a list and called us immediately. I give Public Storage 4 stars (would be a five except the prices are a bit high) and I give Hershey 10 stars. Nice to have someone there watching out for me. read more
