I booked online and immediately got a phone call to book an appointment to show my DL so i could get access. I took a couple hours off work to be there, and as usual nobody was there. My specific Public Storage unit (747 Grapevine Hwy) has had things stolen. The setup started when the Property Manager said I could get a lower monthly price for the same size unit (10x10) right next door (to save $90, per month). The theft was reported to the Hurst Police Department and a "case number" was assigned. My Master Lock was picked and several items were removed to a value that exceeded $10k. I have relocated my belongings to another storage facility which has a sensor inside the unit that notifies me when the unit has been opened. The ladies that work in the office were very friendly. My issues were with the upper management. I was quoted a price through email. When I arrived at the facility to move in I was charged more than the quote. I was told they would let the regional manager know and someone would contact me. I was in the unit from July 2024 until March 2025. I was never contacted, my rate was never adjusted, in fact it was raised in January 2025. I went in to talk to someone on three different occasions. Nothing was ever resolved. I would suggest to anyone using a Public Storage facility to walk away if they don't honor the quoted price because no one will correct it. read more

There are 3 major issues with this facility: Serious elevator problems. In 2023-24 elevators were non-functional for days on end. Several tenants reported hearing water noise while riding the elevators. Not enough carts. Costly rent increases. Expect about 2-3 rent hikes per year. Avoid storing here for more than 3-4 months at a time. Stay too long and you'll pay for it. Get in, get out. read more

Office staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. Unfortunately, the 3-story climate-controlled building in the facility has had mechanical and maintenance concerns, including problems with elevators, electrical power, and climate control.There is also a lack of platform carts for moving items into and out of the building. Here are the dates and descriptions of problems: 12/2022--1/2023: There was no electrical power for OVER 30 days from mid-December 2022 to mid-January 2023. There was NO elevator service, NO heat, NO lights! Finally, after about 5 weeks, these issues were repaired. Many tenants moved out after this. 3/2023--Elevator service problems. Elevator shaft had water in it. 3/2024--Elevators were down for 2 days at the end of March. There was water in the elevator shaft again. Sump service was used to clear the water. 5/2024. Elevator shaft again had water trapped within. Passengers could hear water dripping down as the elevator car ascended. Elevators were out of service for several days in May. Tenants had to use stairways to get to their storage spaces. They had to hand-carry items in and out of the building and up the stairs. 6/2024. Once again, there was water in the elevator shaft following heavy rains in the area. There is a lack of carts for loading and unloading items into storage spaces. Frequently, NONE are available. You're lucky to find even one. A year earlier (5/2023) there were 4 platform carts available most of the time. Tenants have complained about this, but nothing seems to change. It's hard to unload items without carts. Please note, the office staff are very pleasant and easy to deal with. This is no reflection on them. They really try. However, it seems more organizational support might be needed. This is a large building with hundreds of units. These circumstances are beyond inconvenient. Finally, if you're moving into or out of this facility, you might want to contact the office in advance to see if they have enough carts and to find out if the elevators are running properly. read more

I left a review on Google, but I wanted to echo that review here since I have used Yelp more. The two words that come to mind when talking about this facility or it's staff, absolutely amazing! Brandi & Terry have been so kind and so helpful each and every time I've had to go into the office. Their smiles and warm welcoming attitude means the world to me. Especially after a long day of working on the ambulance. Over the last year, I've found the facility to be well kept, and cleaned nicely. This is a perfect example of how hard these two work to make sure everyone has a positive experience. It's equally refreshing to be able to walk in and pay my bill without hassle or attitude. Both Brandi and Terry have been so kind & helpful. It's the smaller things or details that go a long way for me. So in closing, if you need some extra storage space, I would strongly recommend this facility. With the different size units, they'll be able to help you with your storage needs! read more

We have been renting at the Hurst, TX facility since 2018. We were planning on moving back to this area just before the pandemic hit. Needless to say, we had a huge delay. Because the price kept going up to an unaffordable rate we downsized from a 20' x 10' to a 10' x 10'. We were finally able to sell our old house and buy a new house in August 2023. The price kept going up so I decided to go ahead and empty the unit and moved out on 3/2/2024. We still had to pay for the month of March even though our card was billed on 3/2/2024. Public Storage refuses to prorate. The customer service staff is not very understanding and speak to you like you're stupid. When asking for a supervisor, I was refused. Besides the rising rates, it's hard to get someone to answer the phone. The bathroom in the temperature controlled building was always locked because the manager said she was tired of having to clean it. You had to go all the way to the office to use the bathroom. Then, at least twice the elevators were not working and we had to wait weeks for them to be repaired. I guess I should just take the loss and be glad that we are out of there. Finally! read more

This facility is beautiful. The problem with Public Storage is not the facility. It's the cost. We started at $135. With in 1 year we were paying $275. Every other month or so the rent went up. For the amount of money we paid I could have build a storage unit. Not worth the raise in pricing. We had no control other than to just "move out" if we didn't like the pricing. read more

I was paying $51 for my storage unit, then it went to $61, and now magically is skyrocketed to $110...they want me to pay that much for a 3x5 unit...not to mention this location is bug infested and there are spiders everywhere. I've had nothing but problems with them since I started, it's been an endless nightmare. Im finally getting away from this terrible business and location. Read the lease paperwork very carefully! It states "Your Rental Terms May Change with 30 Days' Notice" and believe me, they will! My rent went up from $48 a month to $87 a month after only 4 months. Plus, there is never anyone around to help in person if you have a question. Stay away from here. There are plenty of other places to rent from. read more

I rented one of the larger CLIMATE CONTROLLED units (20x10) for almost 3 years and when we went to get our stuff, there was a leak and it ruined more than half our home! It wouldn't have been as bad if the manager would have shown some compassion. I was in tears asking her for help so we could salvage some of our items. Her response (while she helped a new customer)"And what do you want me to do? You need to get the pamphlet and file a claim".... no regard to ther fact that we've paid over $200 for almost 3 years (they raise the rent at their discretion). We went back the next day only to listen to her tell us "yep, this is one of the units that we've had problems with"! Horrible place to leave anything that you want protected. It's been 2 days, and I've yet to hear from the insurance. Bad customer service, older units should NOT be rented out. read more

No assistance or leeway whatsoever during the peak of Covid pandemic. I was blessed to still have a job during this mess but due to Covid my pay dates changed suddenly, I now get paid on the 15th. I explained both to the office and corporate customer service that I can continue to pay as normal every month but I would need assistance so I'm not charged crazy late fees. They provided none! On top of having to pay an additional $168/mo in late fees during this time, even when my account is made current, the location manager placed a lock on my storage so I couldn't access it even when my account was in good status. I was told that in order to remove it, I have to physically go there and purchase a new lock to put on. I am beyond frustrated. At this point, as soon as I'm able to get into my own storage which I'm overpaying for, I'll be moving to a different storage company! read more

So close to 3 stars Public Storage, so close. But there are some really annoying things you did recently, and I can't honestly give anyone more then 3 stars for rodent droppings can I? I'll explain. First of all, the rodent droppings. Yes, if you rent a unit here be aware that they are not rodent-free. You would think that since we had a large unit inside the climate controlled building (not exposed to the outside at all) we would be protected from things like this. But when we started to move our stuff out we found droppings on the coffee table, inside our boxes (that were not sealed), etc. So if you do decide to store nice things in there please cover your stuff and seal those boxes. Now on to why they get 2 stars instead of 3. While we were moving our stuff out we had left some of it in the walkway in front of our unit while we were taking care of the things still inside. The manager (we later find out) came around the corner, greeted us, commented about our Christmas tree (which was sitting out) and stepped over our stuff as she walked by. Now, if we were blocking a major path and there was no other option but to walk through our things then I would have had no problem with her stepping over our stuff. But considering that she could have turned around and gone back the way she came (which after 3 left turns will lead her to the other side of our possessions) her actions makes me feel like she doesn't care about us. You know what... I can let that go. She didn't step on any of our stuff and she was friendly to us as she passed. But it's the following issues that I can't let slide. Afterwards, we decided to vacate the unit after moving all of our stuff out but when we arrived at the office we found that the manager was gone (about 11:45am at this time). There was a sign on the door saying that they would be back at noon. Ok... 15 minutes, we can wait that long, so we waited. A few minutes into our wait an older couple showed up and waited with us but they decided to leave a little after noon when there seemed to be no sign of someone showing up soon. At about 12:15pm (and no way to contact the manager), we decide to call Public Storage's customer care line (the phone number listed on Yelp for this location). The rep tried to get a hold of the district manager so they could get a hold of the manager but the district manager was unreachable at that time. See the issue here? Anyhow, I end up vacating the unit through the customer care rep over the phone. I ask the representative if I need to leave the little metal plate that was used to keep the padlock secure. She doesn't know.... Oh my goodness Public Storage! It's storage for Pete's sake, we're not building an rocket engine here. Here are the parts that make up a storage building (3 walls, a roof, a door, and a area for 2 locks to go -one round, one padlock with a little metal plate that holds the lock in place-). Why is the rep stumped by me asking her what to do with this metal plate? Well, about the time that I finish getting rid of the unit over the phone with the rep that doesn't know if I should leave this metal plate or not the manager finally arrives. All of a sudden my phone is ringing. Apparently it's the absent district manager,but I just hang up the phone since I don't need them anymore. We confirm that everything was finalized, and they tell me that since I am vacating on the 7th I don't get my payment of $93 back (FYI, leave before the 6th if you want your payment back). Whatever. I leave the plate with the manager, and we happily go on our way. read more

I was really dreading renting a storage unit, but my new furniture was being delivered in two hours and our remodeling contractor had not come close to completing the work in our house. Needless to say, I had several levels of stress as I visited the three storage places nearest my home. The third one for me to visit was DEFINITELY the charm!!!! Terry, the location manager, was an absolute angel!!! She very calmly and succinctly explained my options, showed me a couple of available units, made some timely suggestions that saved me time and $$$. We've had a small unit at this facility for quite a few years, we've been served by Lillian many times. She is always very friendly, courteous and polite. Lillian will go out of her way to give a customer the best and most efficient service. Although I don't look forward to paying our monthly rent, my husband and I do look forward to seeing Lillian. We've never had any problems with the unit except for dust when they changed the locks, there was quite a lot of dust and dirt that had blown into the unit. read more
