Kelly is great! But the rent/prices at this location are horrible. In 9 months, they've increased my rent by $120. Also, my unit barely has any light inside, and the door won't stay open. I just moved to an upstairs unit because I'm dealing with a serious medical condition and cannot move to another location right now. Climate controlled unit - 80 plus degrees. Had ton of moth like insects all over everything. Moved in 4/20, moved majoriTy of items out beginning of June. The manager says that's to be expected as long as there are not eating through fabric. I said they are, and he had no response. read more

I never give 4 stars because there is always for improvement. But when it comes to CS Ms.Liz @ the Legacy Frisco location is top notch. She is patient and informative. I personally prefer to do things online because most people are the opposite. But I look forward to speaking to her when needed. Public Storage as a whole needs to work on better pricing acrosse the board and allowing things like transfers to be done online. I have an inside unit and it has been fantastic...both clean and a good value. I recently added a first floor exterior unit. I opened it for the first time and it smelled of moth balls (rodents don't like moth balls) and had rodent-away packs on the floor. Makes me nervous to put anything of value in the space. Brandon made the leasing process easy and ensured that we had everything we needed to safely store some furniture and books. Updated: Move-out was pretty smooth, too. Found another facility at a better rate that met ALL of our needs, so had to go. Gate code is personalized and so easier to remember than PS's code, too. Note that PS offers no prorated rent although we vacated less than a week after the 1st, so plan well. We're double paying for a month, just to be sure we don't miss the better deal we found! When I arrived to check in the manager who helped me was FANTASTIC! She answered all of my questions and walked me through everything. The facility was spotless and in flawless repair. DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE ON LEGACY DRIVE IN FRISCO. I honestly should have known better once they cancelled my online reservation one day after assuring me that my move-in date was set. And then upon cancelling my reservation, that's when they informed me that they never actually had the unit I reserved. Apparently they allow you to book units that aren't actually available. Okay, that makes sense.. Despite my better judgment, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and booked a new storage unit. Big mistake. These crooks refuse to pro-rate rent if you move out any later than the sixth of the month. Meaning that when I moved out on March 8, I had to pay for an entire month of an empty storage unit, until March 31. They refused to budge on the policy and then when we did vacate the unit, they tried to take our specialty lock (that we paid $20 for - another ripoff) and rent it out to someone else, despite the fact that days earlier they forced me to pay for three more weeks. The office employees have zero power to help their customers and are basically just robots spitting out stupid policies, so I can't really blame them. It's no wonder the doors are always locked so they can take a smoke break. read more

I was told there was a dolly to use. They didn't have one so upon arrival I had to go rent one. There is also insurance fee which I am only storing a fridge for a month. Also was told my rent for first month would be 25.00 in which it is 50.00. Just be straight. It's not the money. read more

I fell for the "Memorial Day Special", which sounded fantastic: "You will receive half off your monthly rent!" I selected a small 5x5 climate controlled upstairs unit and received my e-mail confirmation, which clearly stated a "one time administrative fee" of $24.00 and "Total cost to move in" of $49.00. I showed up to view my unit and was about to approve when they mentioned I had to purchase a special Public Storage-only cylinder lock for a one-time fee of $19.99, and that I could not use my own padlock. Why wasn't this mentioned in the e-mail confirmation? This is a requirement to move in, and springing it on me at the last minute felt deceptive. Then I asked about my rent. The Memorial Day Special is only valid for month-to-month rentals. At a random date in the future (on average 6 months, I was told), the rent would increase. They could not tell me how much my rent would increase, only that it would not double. Seriously? Zero-to-99 percent is a pretty big range. Once all my stuff is moved in, they want me to play roulette with my monthly rent? I didn't expect these kinds of games from a large company like Public Storage and won't be doing business with this company again. read more

Went to site because I wanted to see the unit. Brandon asked if I had made a reservation. I had. He said I didn't. But I did. Then he told me I must note have pushed submit. I said ok. I would like to see the facility because I was concerned about bugs. Brandon said there are no bugs. I asked to see the unit again. He HUFFED LOUDLY! I was appalled. If my items are going into the storage area I have a right to see how clean the facility is. He refused to show me. I called the regional manager Callie. She took a day to return my call. I called the customer service number. First gal was super sweet. She transferred me to customer service. She said he did not have to show me a unit due to Covid. Callie called me back and said YES Frisco is showing units but did nothing to help. Really horrible customer service. read more

This location has ruined my life! I had this unit since February 2017 n I should've known something was gonna continuously go wrong from there. The $1.00 special was way more then that. They then didn't have the size I wanted so I had to upgrade n size. Then when I made my payments online they "never" received them. Yet it came out of my bank acct. I am going thru cancer which is y I put my stuff n my 3 year olds stuff in there as well and I admit I got a month behind. I then paid n full and called to verify it was paid n full and they said yes n that I had to come by a new lock for it. I made arrangements for that to b done only to find out they had sold my unit. Now I have lost my whole world n my sons. N all they could tell me was oh we can't go back n un sell it now. I'll never ever use them again. read more

These people are ridiculus...a dear friend who recently lost her husband...has been locked out of her unit that clearly has her information on the account and they keep taking her money, monthly with no issue....but the lack of compassion and help for her during this time is outright despicable!! Take your money and your goods to be stored somewhere else...try advantage down the street been storing household and business samples there since '06 and NEVER had any issues even when I needed to give access to my storage while I was out of the country...great people at advantage....stay away from this public location..... read more

Terrible service. Made this months payment a week late, and paid a $50 late fee. Show up two weeks later 30 minutes after the office closed and I'm still locked out of my storage unit. I call customer service and they said they can't do anything for me. So I've paid my full balance, late fees included and I'm still locked out two weeks later? Fed up Next day I spoke with the manager and she said all she could do is take the lock off, and not compensate me for the trouble I experienced. I will never go back to Public Storage. read more

I've been with this storage unit since May 2016. I took advange of their $1.00 move in special there is the issue like other reviewers have mention they have a processing fee and the special lock ($20.00) you need to buy that's how they get there MONEY!. Its true they do have to be more up front about the special lock they use in there units on their website. other than that the guys have been great I never had bad customer service always been friendly and the Storage units are always clean. read more

Just got back from the Public Storage office where I was told my "reservation" isn't really a reservation. I did the reservation for the unit online that I wanted and even went to the office a week ago to confirm. I even offered to pay for my first month to get it all set up but was told they couldn't accept payment that far out (2 weeks). So I went back today, which is a week from my scheduled move in date, they pulled up my reservation, and now they don't have any 10x30 units anymore, BUT, they can offer me a 10x20 unit, for only $60 more per month than the 10x30 unit I was originally wanting. Classic bait and switch, these aren't the type of people anyone should do business with. read more

Took advantage of the $1 first month deal since it was a grand opening for this place.I actually never moved anything into my unit and pretty much paid them TWO months of rent for nothing. My 3rd month started March 1st, and i had set my move out date for feb 27th since i knew i wouldnt be using the unit a few months from now, no need to pay for it right. Since i never moved in, there was nothing to move out, so i didnt make my way there until today the 4th, when someone from this place had called me about my balance. I told him the situation, and he stated that if i came in today to settle it (get the official vacant papers) that he would pro-rate my balance or whatever since my moveout date that I set online was actually 2-27, but i just did not have time to get there until today. Anyway, I make it up there to do the vacancy properly and I mention to the guy that the person I spoke to on the phone an hour ago said that in regards to my balance it would be pro-rated if i came in today. The guy did not ask who I spoke with, or even ask the guy who was sitting to the right of him making phone calls had he spoken with me and told me that. He just told me, No i can not pro-rate because today is the 4th and that had to be done by the 2nd. Ok, I do not mind paying what i need to pay for whatever reasons, but I do not appreciate being LIED TO. The guy I just spoke to an hour ago told me if i came in today, I wouldnt have to pay the full $45 bill for a month that I will not be there, so why are you charging me that without at least consulting with someone else??? At this point I am PO and really do not want to cause a scene or be the angry black woman, so I just pay the money to get things moving on, because I had other things to do. I will be needing to get another storage unit in a few months that I do plan on using, but it will not be from public storage. I do not give my money to liars, plus you have already gotten enough FREE money out of me anyway. read more

I'm not sure about other negative reviews, but I was very pleased with my experience. The property manager was awesome he made sure I walked my unit and knew all about the facility. He was friendly and helpful. It was a easy process considering I had just come in town with a car full of items after driving 8 hours I was tired and ready to sleep. The manager made sure I got in and out with no wait and took care of every need I had. I would recommend a friend def. just be aware like anything else that when you book a $1 special it's not literally a $1. But that's expected kinda. This business is a rip off. DO NOT rent from Public Storage. I rented a facility 5 months ago. Received a post card several weeks ago where they stated they had raised the rent by $40 per month, just like that. A $480 a year increase is no small amount. The front desk (Kelly) said she could not help as it was a corporate action. I called corporate customer service. The agent was rude and effectively said "tough, we can raise it at will based on market availability". I asked to speak with someone higher in the organization as this appeared to be a deceptive practice not mentioned in their promotional materials. She at first would not provide me with any contact information. I pressed the issue and she said "go ahead, they will tell you exactly what I have." So I called the "supervisor" number she provided and left a message explaining my concerns and the desire for a call back. Never received a call back. Bottom line, use a different Storage business or suffer the surprise rate increase that is beyond reasonable. read more

Have used other Public Storage facilities in the past and been pleased, but my experience with this location has been poor. In addition to the $24.99 admin fee at move in, you are required to pay another $20 for a lock (custom, can't use your own). They also force you to pay for monthly insurance until you can prove to them your homeowner's insurance covers contents (most do). Clearly a ploy to make more money as many people likely forget/don't bother to come back with their policy (they don't tell you in advance). They also don't let you use their trash dumpster - every other location I have used does, and it's a huge convenience. While the facility is new and clean, I would not use this location again. read more

A very nice new stoage unit, as it is new they do have awesome 1 dollar first month deals going on. However they do not tell you online that if you open two storage units the second one isnt a dollar for the first month, even if it goes in someone elses name. As I scheduled a reservation to view the storage unit for another friend I know who was moving, so when she got there, because she didnt schedule it online, they could transfer the reservation in her name, but however refused to give her the dollar online discount (even though it was in her name) I have now referred two other people and also myself to buy 2 storage units from there. However customer service goes a long way in the business, and that is something this storage unit lacks. Arlene, is a very rude, and unprofessional individual who obviously doesnt value the customers in the business. I feel that someone who is representing the company should value the customers who are making the business stay afloat, (especially a new business) Because of the way she treats people, I would rather spend my money in a different storage unit because there are thousands around. I wish I would have read reviews before doing business with this company. We recently moved into the area and needed additional storage. They had a great monthly rate so I decided to move forward. I was aware that there would be price increases periodically but what Public Storage does in completely unethical. I received a 45% price increase after just a few months. I am in business and I understand the reasoning behind an increase, but 45% is unheard of. I called in to question the rate increase, but locally they can't make any decision or changes. I was told I would get a call back from a manager, which did happen but they said the increase would go through and there was nothing that could be done. I asked why 45% and she couldn't answer that question or really any questions for that matter. I asked to have a contact number for someone above her. Begrudgingly I was given the name of Tracy Johns. I left Tracey 3 voice mails with zero response or call back. This is completely unprofessional. Their business model is poor and customer service is worse. I would never recommend this company. read more

The team was professional and efficient. They did not tell me that I had to buy their lock for $19.99, that there is mandatory insurance of $11.00 per month (FYI your homeowners covers this so just let them know at time of rental if that applies to you), and most of all the 10 x 15 space has an 8 ft ceiling due to chicken wire at the roof level 8 ft up preventing you from using the top 3 feet of space. That really limits your storage capacity. Theprice was excellent at $97.00 per month though. read more

Our experience during our stay at Public Storage was great. Our problem started when we were giving our notice to vacate the unit. When we first signed up for our unit in September they said we could give them a notice and we could have our last month prorated. In November when we called, they said they started a new policy in October and they could not prorate the month for us. I was told to contact the regional manager and they could help me. I contacted the regional manager multiple times and finally got through. He said he could adjust my account if I vacated before the 6th, which luckily was no problem. I checked my account for 5 days and finally went into the office to check on the status. They got ahold of the regional manager and he stated he never spoke with me. I still continued to call him and he still continued to not return my calls. Tomorrow I have to pay the full month or I receive a late fee and most likely still will have to pay the full month. Do not do business with Public Storage unless you are prepared to pay the full month. read more
