We had a storage unit here for about 4 years while we lived out of state. The unit we had was clean and the size was fine for what we needed. We started with the first month being $1, which was great but soon found out they would increase the rent by $20+ dollars every 6 months and we had to insure everything which increased the rent by $15 a month. 2020 we didn't see any increases, thankfully! Be careful with auto pay, even if you always pay on time - they will charge you a late fee if you are one day late due to a system error and they won't refund it. We gave notice a week before returning to WA and stopped our auto pay. We got a call two days later saying we needed to take our key to the office by X date or our locks would be cut because they planned to do sprinklers checks. Thankfully that date was after we planned to move but at the same time- what would happen if we couldn't get them a key because we were out of state, they would just cut our lock and leave it like that? Seems like very short notice for anyone not planning to move out of their unit or living locally. One plus and it's a big one, is that after 4 years, there weren't any signs of bugs or rodents like you sometimes see with storage units. The move out was easy, when I went to tell the woman our unit was empty she confirmed she had already checked it and we would receive an email confirming our move out. read more

We needed a storage unit very last second as we had bought furniture earlier in the day and needed to get the extra furniture Into a unit quick because our apartment was cramped. The girl who signed us up was very pleasant and got us in just in time for their office to close. She mentioned that there was a $1 special for the first THREE months, as their promo is usually a $1 for the FIRST month. On the initial signup day we paid $25 for the rental, $5.50 mandatory insurance, and $22 for the purchase of the lock. Then, 11 days later we were charged $30.80 for the first month's rent... So, I guess the FIRST normal month promo didn't apply at all. Next, on Jan 2nd we were charged $84 for rent. I called the location to inquire about this and the girl was extremely rude on the phone and told me that I misunderstood the promo offer, that her and the girl who signed us up would have never told us such information about a three month promo, and that they have worked there for over 5 years, so they know what they are talking about. The moral of the story is that any ads or promos that Public Storage tries to advertise are not going to be honored and they will charge you anyway, then blame you for not understanding their scam. read more

Only spent a few months as a customer here and have mixed feelings. Service was hit or miss.. either they person working was very friendly and eager to help or couldn't care less. They don't seem to really mind having questionable folks hanging out for long periods of time working on their vehicles and leaving garbage everywhere. Which always had us uncomfortable when loading/unloading since we had to have someone stay with the vehicle. Also it can be a challenge to find moving carts as they tend to wander off to other areas of the building and not return to their spot. The units themselves were pretty clean and well lit.. only issue there was the complementary empty beer bottle left behind by a previous occupant. Would like to see it be 24hr access or even extended hours to be able to get to your unit. read more

Well for starters most of the staff are not very friendly or helpful. There is constantly sketchy people in there that I know aren't supposed to be because I see them wait for someone to open the gate and then they follow behind them really quick, which your not supposed to do by the way. I stopped in to inquire about renting a unit on short notice. I was immediately greeted with smiles from both Mary and Mariah. They were so pleasant and helpful, answering all my questions and even offering different choices that might has saved me some $$$. We decided on the size and I was shown an open unit. It worked out perfectly. The lot was clean and space between the units was adequate for even the largest of trucks. Having lighting inside the unit is a first for me and very much appreciated. RATS. I kept my stuff here for 4 months while I was moving and on the surface it looked like a fine facility; clean, well-lit, easily accessible. I loaded all my stuff in and didn't think about it again for many months. When the day came to move my stuff out of the unit and into my new house I made a disgusting discovery; rats had chewed through the corners of my boxes and completely destroyed a piece of art I was storing. Yuck! It gets better though... as I removed my boxes from the unit, amidst the shredded cardboard and rodent feces, I found two decomposing rat corpses- Double yuck!! So at this point I informed the manager on duty and she came out and removed the dead rats. To her credit, she was very nice about it and did apologize. I finished moving out and went into the office and closed out my account. I waited for an offer of some sort of refund but none was ever made. Finally I asked her whether I could at least receive a partial refund for having had rats chew on my belongings. She stated that as a manager for Public Storage she did not have the authority to issue any refunds. She said she would contact her District Manager about my situation and that they would "be in touch". I waited a few weeks but never heard from anyone. Finally I contacted their corporate office and was told I would need to file a claim with my insurance for any damages. Great, I have to pay a deductible and have my rates go up for something that was completely not my fault. Um, yeah, no thanks! Do not store your stuff here unless you have an affinity for rodents. Woman behind the counter had the door locked for at least 5 mins while she chatted on the phone, finally let me in and proceeded to laugh in my face when I inquired about getting my account current. I thanked her and left, but as we were pulling out, a co-worker of hers came out the front door yelling obscenities at my friend who was driving calling us bums saying we should get jobs to pay our bills, literally posturing and barking like he wanted to fight. Welcome to storage HELL. I wish I read the reviews of this place BEFORE I moved in and not after This place was designed to make you miserable Their hours are 9-6 Monday through Friday and 9-5 Saturday and Sunday. I thought these were office hours only with owner access beyond those times. But this place operates to serve themselves not the customer I pulled up to unload a 26 foot truck full of stuff 45 minutes before closing and found out I had to be OUT of the building by 5 or 6 pm meaning the hours are restricted even more The hall walls are more narrow then any storage unit I have ever been in so only room for Ondoy persons cart at a time But on top of time limitations the building is built with only one way in and one way out. Also you CANNOT park any truck with a ramp straight into the loading area In fact they have parking spots right by the one and only loading area and you try to load or unload there you are screwed because people cannot drive around you and you have to park your truck at an angle. I got charged an extra day of truck rental because I could not unload Saturday And here is another super negative. They force you to buy a special lock for $20 that is a cylinder shape I lost my keys to the unit. In any other storage place they get lock cutters and you just pay for another lock the whole experience lasting 15-30 minutes Here I was told it cannot be removed for one week because only the district manager can remove it Unless I get a locksmith to come remove if at $100 plus So if you really want to have a Storage Hell Experience Come here and ask yourself why spend your hard earned money renting from s corporation that exists to serve themselves and not you read more

Had a awful experience from the get go. Called in to make the reservation a week ahead. The gentlemen on the phone was great. Then the next day Crystal the site manager called and was completely rude! Telling me I could not reserve a week ahead and had to come check in now, I told her no, I will be there next Saturday. Well Saturday comes around I pull in with a truck and trailer full of stuff and had a 10x15 unit reserved. Walked in and she was instantly rude and told me to move my truck did not ask. Went and moved the truck, to be nice. Then she asked what I had and told me that I could not do a 10x15 and she would only give me a 10x10.... I told her that I reserved a 10x15 and she didn't care and forced me into a 10x10. My stuff barley fit, I had to stack to the ceiling and that's not safe. She then forced me to buy a lock even though I already had one that is a storage approved lock... Crystal was 100% completely rude and demanding. If I had time to find some other storage unit I would have left, but I need to get stuffed moved. I would NEVER recommend using this storage site, Crystal is the rudest and most demanding person I have ever spoke with. Customer service is awful. Site is hard to get in and out of. I will be there for only for a month and then will happily be leaving with all my stuff. Almost one of the worst experiences I have ever had. read more

Updating my review as our storage unit was broken into during September 2016. Our family lost thousands of dollars of items. I received a call from the facility manager, Mary who notified us that our storage unit "may" have been compromised as another tenant had noticed that his unit had been broken into and noticed that other units had visually compromised locks as well, including my unit. When we got to our unit we opened the door and immediately noticed that about a third of our belongings were missing. Our belongings had been stacked nearly to the ceiling in commercial plastic bins with no walking room in the unit, it was immediately apparent to us that we had lost many bins and items. Purchasing off site storage can be a risk, I know. We chose this particular facility because it was local, had indoor storage units and was easy to access. Unfortunately thieves were ALSO able to access our storage facility easily. When I asked the manager Mary about the availability of security footage, she said that she saw 'two guys on bikes that were accessing the facility after hours for multiple days, but that since they had the gate access code, they had privilege to enter', and so she didn't investigate further or report suspicious activity to the police. TWO GUYS ON BIKES ACCESSING THE STORAGE FACILITY DURING NIGHT HOURS... FOR MULTIPLE DAYS IN A ROW. This obvious disregard for security in a storage facility is just mind boggling. When I reported the theft of our belongings to the Snohomish County Sheriff, the responding officer told me that Mary had NOT reported anything to the police regarding the suspicious night time visitors, or the thefts that her tenants had reported to her. Yes I feel violated after having my family's personal items rummaged through and stolen and YES I feel disregarded when Public Storage management chose to be apparently self protective and not take immediate logical action to protect the property of their tenants. There are too many other details about this unfortunate experience to write in this review but I don't need to go on. If you are considering Public Storage for your belongings I would re-consider. When you rent a unit at Public Storage, you will be required to purchase a cylinder lock that is not secure and easily broken into with a "shaved key", and management will not be looking out for your best interest or the security of your belongings. read more

I purchased the storage unit on Friday. Placed my items in the unit on Saturday evening and my unit was broken into on Sunday. We moved our stuff out immediately and were told we couldn't get a refund as per the rental agreement. So here I am warning everyone to go else where! They claim they have security, but I was told another unit was also broken into. Of course they don't have cameras on the units themselves, but apparently the thieves are seen on camera carrying stuff out of the area for hours and cops never responded. So either their security doesn't work or cops in the area are too busy to respond. Don't make the same mistake I did!! read more

Wish it was possible to give 0 stars.... Our unit was robbed the other day. While waiting for the sheriff to take a statement I learned that apparently this was the second time THIS WEEK that it had been robbed. Even the sheriff said that this location was notorious for break-ins and the best thing we could do was to move out. So we did. Of course they don't believe in any sort of refund for our trouble. Their motto: "We treat your stuff like it's our stuff" - apparently they don't care about their own stuff! read more

It'll do in a pinch, but it would be best for anyone looking for storage spaces to check out other places first. PROS: - The office staff has always been friendly and understanding of our needs. - The place is gated. - The location close to the freeway and housing is nice. - You can pay rent by credit card. CONS: - Moisture: It is a hazard with the area, but when the staff tries to sell you Damp Rid when you sign your move-in paperwork, you know there is an issue. The units and property are old and it shows / smells when you open the units. We've solved the problem by placing the large Damp Rid buckets in each corner of the unit. They are much cheaper to get on Amazon BTW. - Fees: Yes, true to other reviews there are many fees PS does not share when you sign up for a unit - but this is nothing new for them as we have encountered this when renting at other PS properties in the past. As long as you budget for at least 50% of the monthly rent to pay the first month you'll be fine. Also, be sure to check your homeowners / renters insurance prior to move in - often these policies will cover your belongings no matter where they are located - so if you bring in proof of coverage upon move-in you can decline their insurance. Also FYI - most insurance won't cover moisture damage in WA. - Rent: the monthly rent is / was reasonable, but it was raised 14% 6 months in and we were never notified - the increase just appeared on the balance due for the following month. A letter would have been nice. Overall: this property will do in a pinch, but rent at your own risk. read more

First off, let me just say that the property personnel who helped us, Maile, was super cool and super helpful. She answered all of our questions and was fun to talk to. She took great care of us. Now on to Public Storage, the company. We signed up online to reserve our unit because we would get the 1st month for $1 and each additional month for 10% off. Hooray! Or so we thought. Once we arrived we found out that there is a $25 "administrative fee," whatever that is, and that they recently changed all of their unit locks to a special cylinder lock that could be purchased conveniently for an extra $20. Oh, and once we got back to the office we found out you MUST pay for insurance, ranging from $11/month to $21/month. Oh boy, I was so excited to find out about all these hidden fees. I run a business myself and make sure that I don't hide fees or treat my customers underhandedly. I was in a pinch and didn't have anywhere else to go, so I was stuck. So $1 turned into $57 for our first month, and each additional month no longer had 10% off because that 10% was now covered with an insurance fee. Way to go, Public Storage. Thank you for making me feel "had." read more

******if i could give no stars i would***** i called in to inquire about a unit pricing. because ibwas now going on my 4th day of when i was suppose to be out of my apartment so i explained to the very energetic call center guy that i had my vehicle loaded and need a unit that evening 5:08p.m. and i just needed to throw my belongingd in it for a couple days and then. all that was important was that i could access the unit that evening. so he said well i can give you thr larger unit grou nd access that whrn we hang up and you do online regestration you will have a code texted to you asap..oh and dont worry he said when the contract come s over it will say its dated for move in on the 6th but disrrgard that becaus3 your signing up from your cell so that wo t matter oh and wait you can have this unit for $1.00 move in...i said well sign me up! oh he said there is also a 24.99 doc processing (bullshit fee) i said ok lets do it . i was already being charge late move out fees f4om my apartment and didnt want to have a othdr days. charge . 513 i get the message and i do what i need to do becaus im desperate and need to finish moving ...but wait ..he didnt mention the i surance that i was now having to buy so my bill went from $1,00 to almost $70.00 for a unit i needed for lke 3 days.. not happy but..im desperate so i pay hit send get confirmation number see it dated for the 6th but thats ok because my man the sales guy told me its ok so i wait and wait and wait for the text thats going to give me my code so i can access my $1.00 unit that has now cost me almost $70.00 ,,,no code 20 minutes go by i call the storage back and i am told oh yeah just keep checking you should have it any minute. i say ok great hang up tell my boyfriend its ok any minute ill have my gate code b3cause she said ...keep waiting waiting truck is loaded nothing comes over so i call back talk to anothdr guy oh yeah mam it sais here ykuf contract starts tomofrow the 6th so until thrn you will not rrceive a code..i said wait a second thats not what mr. enthusiastic salesman of the year told me i suppose to have the code once i send the signed co tract,no mam there is no way to rrtrieve the code so i asked for manager lady trlls me the same thing i cant gdt you a code but tomorrow you can access your unit, again i explain what i was told originally and requested the code im sorry i cant help you. i said well then i need you to process me a refund because tomorrow is too late my vehicle is loaded and i still need to get the rrxt of my stuff from my apartment. im sorry mam she said i can not do that here you need to go to the actual storage and request a refund....but wait you wont be refunded the 24.99 doc/admin fee. i e plai ed my frustration and how i couldnt move in the followong day and someone othrr than me should be accountable for this, not me ! so long story short i never moved in i dumped my belongings off at a goodwill finished the rest of my stuff in the apartment at goodwill and spent the rest of the night driving to my new place and guess what the code that couldnt be generated until the 6th was texted to me at 10:24pm on the 5th just shortly after getting home. so i threw away things to make room to empty out my apartment and gave almost$ 70.00 to pay for a storage i never once used..... great job public storage, said no one ever ! read more

The problem I have with this site is that they only have 2 carts available to move your things. They are hard to locate, and are frequently being used. They really need at least 4. Sound Storage has 8. I hope they invest in more carts soon. And it's true from prior reviewers, the manager can be argumentative and does not understand customer service. read more
