The man who runs the storage facility, Bill, was very professional, friendly, personable and was very helpful. I had called a few minutes before their closing time and Bill stayed on the phone and worked with me past their closing time to assist me in completing my order. The price was reasonable, very clean facility, well-lit after hours, clean bathroom for customers, and they had flatbed dollies in the halls for their customers to use. Bill also recommended to me their in-house moving company, Distinctive Moving and Storage, to move my belongings from the storage unit to my home garage. The move from the storage unit to my home garage was flawless. After dealing with a nightmare out of state move for months, it was a welcome change to work with Bill and not experience any issues whatsoever. Great example of top notch customer service. I use that word very lightly, because he wasn't helpful at all. It took over 30 mins to pick up the truck that I had reserved online. He was completely rude and wasn't in a rush to help at all! Coming here, you better not be in a rush, because he moves at his own pace. Not only was the gas tank empty (contract said it was 3/4 full) but I had to go inside and grab my own dollies that we supposed to be in my rental. Don, the owner, really goes out of his way to make sure you are a happy customer. The employees are all very helpful as well. they really go above and beyond. We looked at Public Storage and was unimpressed. I continued looking and found Brassfield due to its proximity to Duke. I couldn't be happier with the summer storage unit. The units are climate controlled, the 2nd month is free, they offer a moving van to assist in your move at no extra charge, really, really amazing!! The units look new, and the facility is very well maintained. I will continue storing at Brassfiled over the summer for the duration of our daughter's college years. Thank you!!!

On top of all those perks the rates are affordable. Cheaper than Uhaul with more perks. We ended up renting a storage unit that was too small. After business hours the area manager saw us struggling and let us move into a bigger storage unit really close to our old one. He told us he'd hate to see us move our stuff twice and to go by the office the next day to update the contract. He saved us from moving into two storage units. Absolutely amazing customer service.

It caused us some inconvenience when they said they won't be able to unload and unpack same day. So we spent the night without any furniture, clothes, or anything for the kitchen. As it was all stored overnight in their truck. The crew of 6 were friendly, did their work and hustled. They were responsive to our needs and always polite. We appreciated that. However what didn't work well for us is that we lost a cabinet in the move that they dropped and it got damaged! Post the move we also spotted a few prominent damages to our furniture like a full chip off our brand new mango wood breakfast table, a rip near the leg of our living room loveseat. Chips off night stands. And skid marks near the door trimming and hardwood Floors. The prominent one was the sliding door new closet cabinet that we just cannot use because of the crack and breakage at the top and back entirely. They need to take better care with the move especially when the crew changes hands to finish the job. And if you're considering them make sure you double check and verify how long will it take and cost upfront. We were told one thing and what ended up happening was different.

When I called and booked, I gave a description of what I had for furniture (2 beds, 2 tvs, couch, coffee table, 2 end tables, a small desk and boxes & bins. I was told that it sounded like It would be a couple hour move. The distance between locations is only three minutes. They arrived at my prior address at 8:30, and got started at 8:45. They did not finish unloading at the new address until 3:30. The two guys were nice enough, but I should have known from the minute they started, that there would be issues. One of the guys was complaining right off the bat about his job, his boss, etc. And would also just start conversations instead of loading up the truck. The other guy, had a bad back. So I can understand going a little slow, but how does that become my issue and having to pay more because they were going slow? They didn't seem to start picking up the pace Until I started to ask how much longer they were going to be. Another thing, one of them used the bathroom and didn't even flush. And a bigger issue, Was that I had a stepstool go missing. It was with all of the stuff to be loaded onto the truck, and it never made it to my new address. Which is really disappointing. I did end up tipping both of them, because it was hot, but honestly, I kind of regret that. The move cost me $1300. I will never recommend this company. This move should've taken half the time that it did. Really disappointed. Never again.
