I started renting a small unit when it was still Simply Storage. Public Storage is the absolute worst. They raised rent twice in nine months - a total 76% increase. The latest increase was the last straw, so I scheduled my move out, received two confirmation e-mails, and moved out on the scheduled date. They attempted to charge my card for an extra month even though I turned off autopay to prevent that. Fortunately, I use vendor-specific cards from Privacy.com so I had also "paused" the card which protected me and declined the transaction. The e-mail where they tried to extort an extra month's rent did not have a valid reply address, so you have to call them. I didn't bother with the corporate number as I've done that in the past and had a terrible experience. I called the local number and left a message, which is your only option since they do not answer the phone. It looks like they removed the fraudulent charge but didn't bother to return my call. I guess it is corporate policy to never admit fault. I hope to get rid of excess stuff so that I never need a storage unit again, but if I do I will certainly steer clear of Public Storage and never use them again! P.S. By the way they will do everything they can to automatically enroll you in their overpriced insurance coverage. You almost certainly do not need it if you have homeowner's or renter's insurance at your dwelling. This is pure profit they tack onto your already-overpriced rent. read more

Facility was fine but Public Storage is a scam. Rented unit from them and after just 5 months rent increased from $170 to $242. !!! Only notice was an email in junk mail. So it's basically get all your stuff here then we will jack up the price because they know it's hard to move again. I understand rate increases but $72 a month rate increase!!! Never rent a unit at Public Storage at 2065 Winchester in Collierville, Tennessee. They basically doubled my rate in a 2 year period and when I said I would be moving out on 3/5, they are charging for the whole month. read more

This place is very unwilling to offer anything to loyal customers. Before they were bought out by Public Storage, there was a 24/7 access. Now the access is limited. Also, I used to receive a military discount... none is offered by Public Storage. I guess public Storage doesn't like the military. read more

I have 3 storages all different sizes at public storage, for one and a half years. The units were great all temperature controlled and when moving out all my things were just as they went in, no bugs, all clean and well stored. I want to thank Jessica for all the help and professionalism she gave to us. She suggested sizes of rentals when moving in ( I had never rented a storage unit and was really afraid to store my things anywhere for fear of bugs)...She was so helpful in so many ways. Public storage will always be my go to when I just don't have the room at my place. They are always in a nice location, well secured, and well maintained. They placed a $30 late fee on my account the second week of July (July the 7th) I've called several times because this is the first time I've received a late fee and wanted to explain that I've been furloughed and did not get paid until the 10th of July. When I finally did hear from someone I informed her I would pay on the 10th and could the late fee be waived. She told me she would put in a request and I haven't heard from anyone since. I keep calling the store and leaving voicemails but no one will call me back or answer the phone. I find it completely inconsiderate that there is nobody I can sisal your regarding this manner. They did me the same way when I had stuff stolen out of my unit and despite me paying for insurance did nothing to resolve my issue whatsoever. Why pay close to $200 a month fir storage and insurance when issues arrive you don't do anything? read more
