This is the second time I have rented a unit at the 1615 Highland Ave. location. It was the first place I contacted because of the Great experience I had the first time, and I am so glad I did! Major rodent problems that they do not resolve. Instead they put poison in your unit instead of trying to trim tree branches that they can crawl from, holes in the roof big enough for squirrels, etc. I could load so many pictures of damage from rodent feces and urine on extremely expensive furniture that we had stored there. Some of the wood was so damaged from urine that you would have thought there was a flood (there wasn't). Another issue that I waited to post about is there lifetime 50% off rates. You sign up and then a few months later they jack the rate up saying that unit is now worth 30-40% more so it is 50% off of their "market rate". Never seen property jump up that much in a few months! Especially in a horrible section of Clearwater! You want to lock your car doors in this plaza. We rented this site unseen as we were moving from the north and had no idea. If you want to get sucked in by a good rate that will last a few months and pay these people to have your items ruined then these are the guys to rent from. We moved our stuff out and now we are trying to see what we can salvage. Extremely heart breaking on the older items. read more

Buyer BEWARE! The storage has EXTREME rodent problems and when you try to make a claim on the insurance that they sell you it only pays $250 for rodent and you are responsible for a 100.00 deductible. My lost precious photos and things that had no value but were priceless to her. The claims manager will tell you that you can't just show a photo of the problem you also need to produce a close up of the damage. Our stuff was only in for a few months and most was full of rat urine. This has been the worst experience! read more

Facility is in a small old plaza but well kept. The storage units are clean especially the climate controlled section. Prices are on par with other locations in the area. My only complaint is the driving a moving truck is rather hard here as the driveway area is very narrow and in some parts you can bottom out. Bill is absolutely awesome. Facility is clean. Rental was easy and contactless. PS app makes everything effortless and convenient. I don't expect my new, outside access storage unit to protect from mice/squirrels/rodents. Being a native, I know they will gain access to just about anywhere, including your cars, if they want to. I can take my own precautions, should that become necessary. That's just Florida. Great facility, great customer service. read more

Called and booked reservation. Asked twice on phone if there would be any additional costs after I arrive. The manager said definitely not. I show up with all my stuff and we go to shed and the manager said it's $20 for a lock! Ridiculous they don't inform you after you ask. read more

We have had a very positive experience with Bill, the manager of this location. He is very friendly and has gone out of his way to be helpful to us in a variety of large and small ways. We have rented two different units in the climate control building and have had no problems with rodents or roaches. read more

This property is AWESOME!!!! When I moved from a larger unit to a smaller one, they moved me in when another one was available. Reasonable prices for today's market, as I moved from Tampa and was paying over $200!!! I would definitely recommend this facility. Needed a short term rental unit for some of the grandmother's old things. The transaction was quick, efficient, and easy. Bill was thorough and professional. The unit was spotless. For the past year or so Bill has been assigned as a property manager and he has raised the bar. He personally contacts me by phone with information whether small or large. I rent a storage unit here and I agree the alleys are narrow and it would be difficult to move a large UHaul around but obviously people are doing it. My review is about the Company Public Storage that owns this and hundreds of other Storage facilities. Public Storage mode of doing business appears to be to prey on non-home-owners, get you into a storage unit for a "fair", not exceptional, price, and then bang the price up by $35 dollars, once they have you trapped, especially in the larger storage units which are difficult to empty if you are an apartment dweller with no place to put your stuff, and they bleed you dry month after month after month. The local onsite manage claims to have no control over the outrageous price hike, and when you call corporate they couldn't care less and claim the "have to" charge what the market requires, like they are a Wall Street commodity brokerage trading wheat or pork bellies. This is just a lie and it's financial rape of their customers renting their units. You are trapped once your stuff is in there, they can charge you anything. Public Storage personifies all that is Corporate Greed. Avoid storing with them is my recommendation. I will never make this mistake again. It is not worth it, and there will always be a small local community storage unit business that will appreciate your business. read more
