I contacted the facility through the web service. I pre-booked a space. The website rejected my payment in full multiple times in different forms. I contacted their customer service. The first person said they would send me an email to make the payment. It never came. I had no time to wait so I went directly to the facility. The facility is closed during normal operating hours with nobody around or sign to indicate why they are closed. I contact customer service again to try and reach somebody at the facility. The individual on the line said I for some reason couldn't pay online and had to pay in person, well I was in person waiting over 20+ minutes for somebody to show up. Nobody showed up and the person on the line offered to connect me to the site manager and I said yes. The phone rang and rang and nobody answered so I left a message which a WEEK+ later has never returned my call. This type of lackadaisical care and attitude is awful. With so many quality storage places in such a proximity, you want to lose business this quickly? I will NEVER attempt to come to this facility at a minimum and I planned a very very long term stay. You all should be ashamed for wasting hours and hours of my time. read more

I'm leaving this review because of bad business practices. We sold our home in December 2021, retired, and are outside the U.S. for the next few years. We met the representative at Public Storage and rented a unit to store our belongings in a climate controlled area for $148 per month. I offered to pay for the year in advance but was discouraged from doing so, so I set it up to go on our credit card monthly. That was in December. Now in April I get an email that it's going from $148 to $194 per month. We're outside the country so there's nothing we can do but pay it. This is extortion! read more

Public Storage on Greenbrier Blvd has closed in advance of a potential hurricane without notifying customers whose emails and phone numbers they have on file. The problem is that i was in the middle of emptying out my unit a little day by day because it might flood. There is always standing water in front of my unit even on a dry day. There was no notification given or posted there, and i would know because ive been busy up there. I have explained to their customer service but they are useless and rude. There is no weather coming for days so why can't we get our stuff?? The items in our storage unit may not mean much to their company, but they mean a lot to me and my family. I am really heartbroken that the irreplaceable heirlooms inside could potentially be destroyed because they decided to close, days before one drop of rain hits the ground. read more

Facility is fine, just be aware that a lot of their units are not on the same site as the office, they are about a mile away in the industrial park. No big deal once you know that. Staff is friendly enough and no issues with access. The reason they don't get more stars is how they abuse late fees. I pay all my bills using the online bill-pay service with my credit union, and have for years with no issues at all. But somehow, with this office the payments seem to arrive a day late; in fact the manager told me how "weird it was that so many seemed to come in a day late". The entire self storage business is renown for it's crooked business practices and I suspect while this one may be better than many, I for one wont claim it is an ethically run business. read more

Horrible experience. Made a reservation for a specific size several days in advance which was confirmed over the phone but when I arrived, they said they said they didn't have it and that I would have to pay more for a larger unit if I wanted something there. Having just moved to the area with my moving truck there, I was unfortunately out of luck and paid the extra. When moving out, I got yelled at by an employee for placing a couple of boxes in the dumpster on the property that is apparently only for the company's use but which had no signs telling customers that. The man was incredibly condescending when speaking to me, acting like I was an idiot for using the dumpster, which was filled with people's trash (including a full size couch!) and no signage indicating that customers couldn't use it. I got all of my stuff out of the dumpster and he proceeded to walk back out past me, kept looking at me and went to check the dumpster like I didn't follow his orders. I attempted to contact management about the encounter as I didn't want other people to have to be belittled by this guy and received no response. Definitely look for storage elsewhere if you want to get the unit you ask for at the price promised and don't want to deal with condescending employees who flip out on customers over a stack of moving boxes in a dumpster. read more

It took much less time than I thought to fill out necessary paperwork. Reasonable prices. Policies were clear. I rented a unit in the Indian river location, when I search for a storage unit when we needed to move, I found public storage with a ad stating 44 dollars for a 5 x 10 unit. it sounded like a great deal. WHAT A RIP OFF reality is not what it looks. With 20 administrative fee, 11 dollar min. insurance required on move in and 20 dollar " lock". The 44 dollar bill became 97 dollars. I could have had a 10 x 10 unit at Uhaul for 99 dollars. no fees, no high priced locks, and no required insurance. Next we find we don't have a big enough unit so we sign up with another unit, for the 1 dollar for the first month promotion. They call stating we can't get two " promotions" on the same account. I thought, " so it's a great deal to get ripped off?.... so I had my husband make the reservation, and they refused him, with a separate credit card, email, and phone number from getting the promotional 1 dollar first month. Now, do you really think it's worth coming to a storage unit that cheats and deceives their customers? read more

Moving from over 5 hours away and trying to coordinate a storage unit over the phone can be very stressful. I spoke with Rachel and she made it so stress free. We rented a unit yesterday during one of their promotions. Shawnan was helpful and informed. Customer serves seems to be focused on heavily.

Customer service is horrible! The units are clean which is good. But the customer service is sad. They don't explain the policies to you upon signing. After you sign your papers for the unit, expecting to only have to pay your $1 for the month and $9 for the insurance, they hit you with a processing fee adding your total bill for the month to about $35. They also don't explain that the gates close and lock at 9pm. SO... I went to the storage after 9pm, not knowing that the gates are suppose to be locked at the time. The gate opened for me after putting in my password. I placed a few things in my unit, and come to find, I tried getting out of the storage facility and I couldn't. I was stuck in there for more than an hour with my two children. We couldn't even use the restroom because the restroom was locked. I had to call the police to get us out of that place. A few days later I received a courtesy call from the manager. I explained to her what had happened, and shockingly she started yelling at me! Amazing... Oh and I received a late fee two days after my bill is due, when it is suppose to be 5 days after, and I am now not able to gain access to my unit. This place is a mess! I would NOT recommend this Public Storage location to anyone ever. Their may be another location who will treat there customers the way they should be treated, so I don't want to say the whole company is bad. read more
