The one time another facility did go up on my rent after 2 years it was only a $15 increase. Stay away from this company. they are crooks.

They failed to do so, the movers showed up anyway, no services were performed, and now I'm being told I owe full labor charges because it's a "third party." Customers should know that if PACK-RAT says they will handle cancellation coordination, apparently that does not mean it actually gets done -- and you may still get billed. This was not a misunderstanding on my end. I relied on their representative's assurance that everything had been cancelled. Extremely disappointing experience and terrible accountability between PACK-RAT and HireAHelper.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!…read more I live in Tennessee, but I needed to empty out a storage unit in Florida, so I originally booked with Zippy Shell. They told me I would receive an agreement to sign, but I never received one. In fact, I never received a single email from them after making the initial booking. I eventually found another company that was significantly less expensive, so I decided to go with them instead. I called Zippy Shell simply as a courtesy to let them know. They told me I couldn't cancel because I had supposedly already agreed to the booking and even threatened to charge me anyway. I wasn't too concerned because I had never signed an agreement and they didn't even have my credit card on file yet. At that point, they started telling me how unreliable the other company was and explaining how Zippy Shell was supposedly much more reliable, had better insurance coverage, guaranteed the timing, etc. When I still wasn't willing to pay their price, they somehow managed to drop their price by several hundred dollars and match the other company. So I agreed to proceed with Zippy Shell. They finally emailed me an agreement showing the dates clearly: drop-off on the 18th and pickup on the 19th at my storage facility in Florida. I drove to Florida the morning of the 18th. I waited. And waited. Around midday, I received a text from Zippy Shell saying my delivery was confirmed and giving me a number to call. I called, only to be told that I was actually scheduled for the 21st. When I explained that my confirmed agreement clearly said the 18th, the representative insisted that I was mistaken and that I didn't understand my booking. She then put me on hold to find someone who could help--and left me sitting there for more than 30 minutes without telling anyone that I was on hold. Eventually, someone else answered the phone, apparently unaware that I had been waiting on hold, and initially treated me like I was simply calling in for the first time. By then, I had located the confirmation email showing the 18th drop-off and 19th pickup dates. At that point, Zippy Shell finally admitted that they had simply forgotten to schedule a team to deliver the container and that nobody was available to deliver it before the 21st. That didn't work for me. I couldn't stay in Florida for several additional days, so I asked for a refund. And then they fought me on that, too. They repeatedly tried to convince me to let them keep my money and reschedule for a future date. Eventually, I was transferred to someone who told me the refund would be processed. Today is the 20th, so I'm now waiting to see whether that refund actually shows up. Frankly, given everything that has happened, I won't be surprised if they call me tomorrow and tell me they're in Florida ready to deliver the container--even though the entire booking was supposed to happen two days ago. The manager of my storage facility knows the entire situation and has been extremely helpful. If Zippy Shell shows up tomorrow, she has been instructed not to allow them to deliver anything. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. The biggest issue isn't simply that something went wrong--that happens. It's that the dates were clearly documented, the company failed to schedule the delivery, I was initially told that I was wrong about my own booking, I was left on hold for over 30 minutes, and then I had to fight to get a refund for a service they failed to provide. I would strongly recommend getting everything in writing and double-checking that Zippy Shell has actually scheduled your delivery before making travel arrangements around it. For me, this was a terrible experience from beginning to end.
