I thougt District Managers were there to help customers! I have had such a bad experience, I am in tears! First off, I have been a Public Storage customer for years. I have never been late with a payment. I have six units throughout the Bronx.
I was given a flatbed with a faulty wheel one afternoon at the 367 Southern Blvd location in the Bronx and went to the office to ask for a new one. The manager, Genice, has been very nasty to me on multiple ocassions and verbally abusive to my elderly parents. Whenever I have expressed concern over the lack of courtesy, I have had my lease threatened. I finally called the district manager, Sam, and left a message, because Genice refused to give me another cart as a courtesy, even after I expressed that my mom is crippled and it could cause her to fall. They will not offer any senior accomodations and are very disrespectful. Sam called me back and said he wants me to vacate ALL my units at every Public Storage location by August 31 2022, claiming lease violations we were never warned about and have not committed. Yes, that 21 DAYS to remove six units worth of stuff. There is no way I can vacate in 20 days. This is direct retaliation for my complaint and ageism. Sam says Genice is a wonderful employee and how I manage to get out is my concern, not his.
PLEASE WARN EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT GENICE AT THE 367 SOUTHERN BLVD LOCATION AND SAM, THE DISTRICT MANAGER in BRONX, NEW YORK. I am about to go through sheer hell, and I haven't done a thing wrong. I only requested a different flatbed when there were plenty more outside. I have had Genice regularly threaten my lease when I have asked for a minimal amount of courtesy. I have never heard of a location not having a problem with your tenancy for years and being subject to such vicious retaliation, because you finally found a voice to say something about the wrongs going there?? I am a single woman with 2 elderly parents. WHO EVER HEARD OF HAVING TO VACATE ALL YOUR UNITS IN 20 DAYS JUST FOR COMPLAINING THAT THE SITE ISN'T SAFE OR CONSIDERATE TO THE ELDERLY?? I don't know what I am going to do...I have to see a lawyer, but I have to worry about my belongings first. I am in emotional turmoil. Over a place that was just supposed to help me store my belongings.
My whole family has units here. My husband even treated me to one for Christmas. :(
When I asked which units I had to vacate, asked him to give me the account numbers, unit numbers, etc, Sam only said "I don't have to tell you that, you know what units you have, whatever's associated with your phone number.."
My elderly mother has a unit here and she's 72 years old. Are they going to lock all our units and take even her stuff?? I have nothing to go on and I need legal help. read more
