Nothing extraordinary. Normal Chinese food. Been to better Chinese buffets. Not the biggest selection. NO sushi!!!!!!! Just "ok"

Honestly the reviews are pretty harsh! They had so many options and everything was hot. Obviously some things aren't the best but that's why there's other things. There's bad food at most restaurants. But it was $14.25 for dinner. Pepsi is only $2.15. Such a good price for the quality of food. I've yet to have amazing Chinese food down here. Went to eat on a Sunday night, atrived around 835. The door showed pisted hours open til 930. At ten min. To nine, one of the staff, possibly an owner wanted to know if we wanted any more food. We got what was left in almost empty tray, with cold foid, and at 9 pm, they were letting us know we should leave. No one said, and we will discount the meal, we could box your food, nothing. I tried to get the spanish speaking gentleman to look at the doir with me, he kept saying it was Monday. I explained that no, it was Sunday and would he please let the ladies inside know that the sign was wrong. The ladies came out and lovked the door. The employees except for the spanish speaker who was nice) were rude and acted like we were an irritation not patrons. If i could rate it 0 i would. The food wasnt bad, but was cold. So disappointed. The door says open till 9.30 on Sundays. Not true. They close at 9pm. We got there at 8.40pm. They seated us. Very little food on the buffet and it was all cold. We went through once and they gave us the bill. We went through a 2nd time cause we had been working all day and were hungry. There was not very much and most of it was old too. Then they asked if we were done cause they were closed and were very rude. I went to pay and she was so rude, she slapped the change down and didn't want to give me a Reciept. Then they were slamming pan around. They literally pushed us out, turned the lights off and all left like they were on fire. If your closed at 9pm, 1) change the time on the door 2) don't rale people after 8.15pm 3) if you do seat them, then be nice, cause your food was awful. The worst Buffett we have ever been to. We eat here frequently and really enjoy the food. One comparison I have with King Buffet on 9 Mile Road in Pensacola is I found Public Buffett tastes better and offers cabbage and fried chicken legs. I ate at both restaurants this weekend and my choice of the two is Public Buffet in Robertsdale. read more

Food was cold on the Buffet. 3 hours prior to closing, they began to not refill empty items in the buffet line. For example, the hot and sour soap which is a popular selection. All 3 of the Chinese buffets in Foley are better. Skip this one. read more

I went there with my son recently and after the waitress, an older Chinese woman, seated us, I went to the buffet to fill my plate. I returned to the table and left my plate there because I needed to go back to the buffet area to get sauce. When I got back to our table, I saw that the waitress had taken my plate full of my untouched food away, just minutes after seating us! The staff even gave me the evil eye when i filled another plate to replace the one she took. Crazy. And to make matters worse, the food was old and stale. Rude, crazy staff and bad food? Tasteless food!! This is the worst Chinese Restaurant that exists. No flavor, no seasonings, Buffett barely has actual Chinese food, also ordered off menu, and just as disappointing. Public Buffet is a Chinese buffet behind the McDonald's on 59 on the opposite corner of an L shaped strip center from Vitolli's. Most every small town has a Chinese buffet. This one is pretty good. The signage does not denote Chinese. It just says buffet. The last time I went to Vitolli's I noticed it seemed to be the clear choice of several county workers. I was greeted upon entering asked for a drink order shown my table and told to help myself to the buffet. There are 3 full steam tables of hot food and a single cold table. I wanted something a little more on the healthy side. This place accommodated. I found chicken with broccoli, sautéed green beans, mixed vegetables, peel and eat shrimp... $7.00 Good value. Decent quality food. Most everything I tried was on par with decent quality Chinese buffets. All of the staples were represented as well including teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour, soups, egg rolls, spring rolls, noodles, rice, sushi and many other choices. The size of the buffet / number of offerings was surprising. The selection was much better than I expected. The buffet was well maintained and adequately stocked. No empty pans or dried out old food around noon today. My server was friendly. The cashier was busy on her phone didn't speak at all and seemed annoyed by me paying for my meal. Everyone has a bad day and there could be a language barrier so I won't make a big deal of it but be aware so you're not surprised. The remainder of the staff was smiling happy friendly faces and she was such a stark contrast I figured it was worth noting. Overall good experience. I would go back. read more

We have been there a few times and ate in with my 3 kid's and husband. My 2 year old was a no charge. Then we went back and used a coupon that is in the school coupon books, for a free buffet with purchase of one. They then charges us for my 2 year old saying they have never been free. But then went back a few weeks later and again wasn't charged for my two year old! If you don't like people using coupons don't be involved in your community schools fundraising!!! The lady at the front desk is very rude no customer service!!! And we got take out and soup comes with it. Well today she charged us $2 each for the soup saying it always was a charge!!! The boxes are so small and so are the soup bowls Togo!!! There are way better Chinese restaurants a few more miles up the road in daphne or foley that don't charge on how they feel at the time!!! This is my favorite Chinese buffet in the area. None of the other Chinese buffets in the area can beat Public Buffet for the freshness of what is on the buffet combined with their selection. The dining area and restrooms are reliably clean, except when rude guests allow their young children to make a wreck of their particular table. Even then, the mess is cleaned up quickly when the guests leave. My drink is always refilled time and time again by the friendly waitstaff. Nobody ever makes me feel that I have stayed too long or seems bothered that I drink a lot, requiring my glass to be refilled 4 or 5 times during a meal. This is a clean place with good food, friendly people, and very reasonable prices. I was very surprised that anyone would have anything bad to say about Public Buffet. When we are in the area, we go to Public Buffet once or twice a week. My husband and I have now gone there so much that they once got our favorite drinks to a table before we even got in the restaurant. I was tickled pink. I will continue to go to Public Buffet. High quality fruits, vegetables, and protein can not be found many places at this price. They charge what it costs to eat at Burger King but are much, much, much better and far healthier. read more

I have been to this buffet a few times with my son. Each time the service is horrible, the food was cold, and the last few times we were there I had to ask for a refill. But we will NEVER go back there again. My husband was checking out an AC for the business next door and had gone through that businesses back door, and there when you close the door it locks, so he had to go all the way around the building to get back in. Well he had to pass this restraunt and they had their back door open. He said he looked inside and the kitchen was something you'd see in horror films. The dishes were filthy and piled high, the kitchen in general was a wreck and was disgusting looking, there were flies everywhere in there, old pots and pans scattered around, and they were even using dirty pots to cook in!!! He said it smelled horrible as well and that he would never go there again. The last visit we had there, I found a roach crawling across the table! Never again. This place needs to have a good health inspection and shut down. read more
