I first time in this spot. It was our second stop for the day. I don't recall the name of the drink, the food was good. The service was pretty good from a young college student. He was pretty new but very knowledgeable and pleasant. If I knew I would see him again I definitely would go back. I love great customer service and good convo. I could see myself stopping by again. I'm curious to see how it is when it's a busy time, but it was nice to be able to hear and relax with my friends at the bar. Sidenote: The bathroom is downstairs.

The menu features a list of cocktails priced at $14, including options like Cydonia, SBR, Washington Place, and others, with ingredients specified. It also highlights orange pills, with a high life, campari, and orange peel for $7, and a whale for $100 BTC. The draft beer section lists several options with prices ranging from $5 to $11, including Guinness, Stella Artois, and local beers. Wines and canned drinks are also listed with prices, such as red and white wines at $11, and cans like High Life and Michelob Ultra at $6 or $7. A small cartoon drawing of a beer mug with a hat is present next to the mushroom price, and the menu has a casual, handwritten style.

I stopped by on a random Tuesday, and was immediately greeted with a hello and smile from Pablo. Pablo was very nice and helpful along with Jonathan, We chose to sit at the bar, this place let you purchase items using bitcoin and you receive 21% off. The place has been open for 2 weeks and will expand within 6 months with a steakhouse downstairs. I ordered the buffalo tenders and it came with fries, coleslaw and pickles on the side. The tenders were delicious very moist and seasoned good. I ordered 2 drinks which was a specific margarita that included reposada tequila, grand mariner with grapefruit, lime and other fruit juices, very good for $14. (Very similar to Cadillac Margarita) The place itself is huge, they have a large lounge area also, I will definitely return soon.

We found this pub while looking for a place within walking distance to grab something to eat during our DC trip. We were greeted when we walked through the door and offered to sit at the bar or table seating. We were advised if we sat at a table we would still need to place our order at the bar as there was no table service so we decided to sit at the bar. Our server was Moses, who had great energy, was able to give us some feedback on the drink menu and the happy hour specials. We decided on a hot dog which was delicious and is served with chips, an order of fries, and our drinks. My sister and I got a Pino Grigio and my cousin got a beer on tap. It was a Friday so the atmosphere was live and people continued to stop in during our visit. We enjoyed our food and our drinks! The only disappointment was we wanted to try their cherry blossom drink but was told they were out of the cherry blossom garnish and could not make the drink. However, I would definitely return if I am ever back in the area:)

Cozy ambiance - The image shows a young man standing behind a wooden bar counter in a pub or bar setting. The bar has a dark wood finish, with several bar stools lined up in front. Shelves behind the bartender are stocked with bottles of alcohol and glasses. The ceiling features decorative dark wood panels with multiple ceiling lights providing warm illumination. Two television screens are mounted on the walls, displaying animated content. The overall ambiance is cozy with dim lighting and a classic pub interior design.

What a fun bar to pop into! This is a quintessential DC bar for a cold evening with dark wood and great drinks. The 'Washington place' cocktail (essentially an old fashioned) was great, and there was an open table for our party of 5 on a Tuesday night. They had cocktails, wine and beer. It's very close to Carmines and was a perfect spot for a pre- dinner cocktail. Definitely recommend!

Double burger - A cheeseburger with a sesame seed bun, melted cheese, beef patty, and lettuce is presented on a tray lined with branded paper. Accompanying the burger are French fries and a small metal cup of ketchup. The tray is placed on a dark wooden table, with glasses and other items visible in the background.

Cool spot! Burger was AMAZING. The sauce was 10/10. Fries were salty and crispy. Bartenders were friendly and talkative.

They truly enhance the experience. When I go, I always go with the chicken curry half and half. The chicken is always cooked perfectly. Half and half is the way to go so you get both the rice and French fry combo. The rice soaks up the curry and is a great pairing for the crispy fries. They offer a lengthy list of drink options and have something for everyone.

We parked in the rear parking area, it shares the lot, so definitely could get tight when crowded. Rear entrance was locked so had to go around to main street entrance. Friendly greeting at the door, seated immediately and waters brought over as soon as we scooted our chairs in. Super friendly & attentive staff. We went with the St. Patrick's Day menu. Donegal Fish & Chips- Probaby one of best fish that I have enjoyed. Fish was not too crispy or greasy, nice and flaky- 5 Stars Corned Beef & Cabbage was pretty good, not the best nor the worst - in the middle. Presentation was nice. Overall - great Staff & ambiance, parking available, reservations available. Fish & Chips were very good (not a huge portion of chips). A wee pricey for lunch for us on a regular basis with the portion size. 2 Lunch orders, 1 beer in a plastic cup, was a little over $70 (not with tip). Probably a one and done for us.

Great local bar with large rotating craft beer selection. Highly recommend for any beer…read moreenthusiast. They have wine and cocktails as well. They are happy to recommend beer for your taste, and let you sample. It can be very busy and difficult to get a seat at the bar or get a table on a Friday or Saturday evening. We ordered food, and were expecting elevated bar food. The tater tots were a huge disappointment- they were very large squares , bland, and not crispy. The wings were okay. The cheeseburgers were the best- from the restaurant downstairs- mallard. Huge burger, done perfectly medium.

I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it.
