Great spot! They've got a fairly decent sized patio that has been extended out into the parking lot for outdoor dining. I went here on a date and we were served promptly and also given space, when necessary, to chat without ever feeling rushed. Their beer selection is decent, but the food is where Pub Republic really shines. I'm a sucker for anything fried with gravy, and their fried chicken did not disappoint. Even better, the meal was fairly large and I had leftovers! I've gone once before a few years back and enjoyed it then, too. Horrible experience with the service!. The waiter was unfriendly and unprofessional. He never brought the condiments (salt & pepper ). He only brought jam and butter for not even one person-very little!. When we ask for ketchup and Tabasco, he brought a smear of ketchup in a little tub and the Tabasco bottle was sticky. He never offer water or coffee or if we needed anything else. He kept kept coming out of the kitchen eating out of his bare hands. Thoughtful service, attractive modern interior, nice lighting, comfortable tables. On a Sunday at 7pm it was not crowded. I had the iceberg wedge salad with the steak added and a glass of wine. The salad was delicious, with a house-made blue cheese dressing and bacon crumbles, cherry tomatoes, and a bit of red onion. I could have done without the steak which was nothing special and kind of stringy. Next time I'll see if they can top it with maybe some grilled shrimp or something? The piece of eggplant was slippery, almost mushy and strongly pickled tasting. and the cheese was a paper thin slice with no particular taste. The pesto and onions were ok, but overshadowed by the unpleasantly strong taste of the eggplant. Back in business! We came here on the first day that dining in was allowed. Actually, it's more like dining out... Patio dining is the way to go, as that is also Sonoma allows right now. The restaurants that are fortunate enough to have patios are the ones to open first. This place is close to our home and we are happy they opened today! too bad it's nearly a hundred degrees outside... fortunately they have umbrellas on the patio and we are comfortable enough with our cool drinks. Okay so we've been going to Pub Republic for years but have only been a few times since 2020. This last time it felt like either the restaurant is on its last leg and will shutter in the near future or the manager just doesn't put in any energy to the vibe inside. It was a beautiful night and no one was on the patio and only a handful of tables. The music was barely on, the bench seating was sticky and ripping and the wall dividers had splashed food and drinks on it. The beer list is very small now and weren't very cold. And this is a spot we could count on for great local beers with plenty of choices! They do have one of my favorite veggie burgers that's still home made but the fries were room temperature. Wide variety of entrees including vegetarian. Portions are large, good flavors. Hope our first experience is not typical for this nice place. First experience was early on New Year's Eve with reservations. Appetizers came quickly, entrees a bit slow. Drinks/waters were refilled often. Was told we had reached our "time limit" when the check was dropped off. When I confronted wait staff, the excuse was "other waiting reservations" (no one was waiting and other tables were empty) and "manager's orders." We barely spent 89 minutes IN TOTAL at the restaurant. We did not plan to linger but a chance to digest slightly was not offered either. Told wait staff that time limits need to be announced prior to being seated and that I was not happy. Second visit was much more pleasant. Again we made early reservations. Asked at reception about time limits, host looked slightly confused and said no. Asked wait staff before ordering about time limits and again was told "no." Appetizers came quickly, entrees were large, flavorful, and cooked well. We were allowed a few minutes to settle our meals after the check was paid, even though this time the place was crowded and other guest were waiting for a table. I love brunch but dread driving to the city or east bay just to find a great brunch spot. So I decided to stay local this morning and happy I did! I was searching for great brunch spots near me and came across Pub Republic. After speculating online I thought Pub Republic was just a sports bar but boy was I wrong! As soon as I walked in I was seated immediately! There were a lot of families present for brunch. So if you have a family I would recommend coming here for brunch! The game was also showing on all screens! My server was very kind. Wasn't too crowded, I believe later in the day gets pretty busy. There are options online to make reservations. Brunch comes with buttermilk biscuits and their sweet butter and jam. So yummy! Really great drink menu options and I also took a peek at the Happy Hour items which are available during the week (I will be returning) I was torn between trying the fried chicken and french toast or the Corned Beef and Hash. I went with the Corned Beef and Hash and was very pleased I did so! A very large portion, I had to take some to go! Onions were perfectly carmelized, corned beef very well seasoned. American style burger and pub point. Both times I came here for lunch and it's safe to say to come around 11:30am if you want to beat the lunch crowd or wanna do a walk in. Menu selection is good and burgers are never a bad choice. Ive tried the truffle and pork belly burgers here and both are great choices. Service here can be hit or miss but generally staff is very friendly. Burgers typically come with a side of fries too, but I'm not sure if they charge extra for different fries. Ridiculous...she was clearly spread too thin and manager kept giving her a hard time. Our food finally arrived again and was hot. The overall experience left a bad feeling for us. I've always enjoyed the food however the last time I was there a couple days ago I had the fish and chips and by the time I got home I was throwing up sweaty stomach cramps all of that yuck. Exactly 3 tiny pickle slices on the side, Chipotle sour cream had Zero flavor, and is just weird on a burger it should be chipotle Mayo not sour cream it's not a taco. Bacon was soggy, not crispy. Onion stings were crisp but made with chewy outside parts of onion and were hard to chew thru. Sweet potato fries (which cost extra of course) were soggy af and hot but limp. 4 stars for service. No stars for food. If wasn't starving and hadn't eaten all day or Waited 20 mins for the well done burger I would have asked for a refund. Probably won't be back unless just for a beer. read more

I ate here for over ten years and the latest Mgr has driven me and many others away including mis treating staff members by allowing customers to yell and burrate staff until they are so frustrated they actually walk out to never return. They started a 2 drink maximum even if you walked or gotten a ride. Carlos said ABC told him he has to do this. Last few times I came here I felt really bad for the staff members that are left. First off, the service from walking in the door is incredibly kind, welcoming, and personable. The bartender was super cool, super kind, and super helpful too. As a "rookie" when it comes to beer, he was able to Point me in the direction of beers he thought I might like. And he was spot on. Our meals came out staggered as requested. Beautiful presentation and the flavors of the food were crazy good. Our entree was the fried chicken and had the perfect mixture of spice, buttery, and savory. So damn good! Not to mention our chicken was a breast and it was stupid juicy and tender. Alright, I really want to love this place. But... Ok, this is more advice to your kitchen. I'm a chef. I tried this place 5 times to give it a chance. First off the apps, dessert and so on are pretty good. The rest of your dishes, main dishes, the flavors and spices are there. But whoever is on your fish /meat stations. They DO NOT know how to cook meat or fish. Burgers, steaks, pork, chicken all cooked way tooooo long. Dry. Which is such a shame because all the flavors are there, all the work put in for the flavor, but then it's met with and ruined with pure dryness. It's an insult to the animal and an insult to the person paying 20+ for most of your dishes. Anyhow, drinks are great, apps good, soup was hit and miss, desserts good. I want to love Pub Republic, I try to love Pub Republic, but it often misses the mark. PubRepub has great ambience, a gorgeous bar, lovely patio, and nice high top tables. Our service has ranged from awesome to sub-par. Everything from prompt and friendly to feeling forgotten with empty drinks and no check-ins. Sometimes there is a lack-luster vibe in there, I'm not sure why. They have a fantastic location, pretty good menu, but such major inconsistency it is sometime hard to keep coming back. Highlights include their brunch menu, good wines, some steller servers, tasty burger, parmesan truffle fries are excellent, and the goat cheese and beet salad is a favorite.
