Hubby and I went here for Easter brunch and were quite happy with everything!! we had made reservations but were seated earlier then time made for which was quite nice and the items in the buffet were outstanding especially the chef's carved prime roast of beef!! great ham and side dishes and salads were top notch!! great atmosphere as well all in all a great time!! will be back!! read more

Pub 500 is for the big kids, for sure. Their food is great, I particularly like the edamame and the fried pickles. We've had everything from snacks to steaks here, and nothing has disappointed. It is a little spendy compared to the other bars around, but that is nice because the quality is a bit better and there are more adults hanging around than younger kids. read more

This place is 100% overrated. I came to check out the area since I might be relocating to Mankato for a new job and read about this place in a visitor's guide. It definitely has the most curb appeal on the block so seemed like a good option. For lunch I had a bowl of chicken wild rice soup that was greasy and super unpleasant. My dining guest had a pulled pork sandwich that he rates a 5/10. Atmosphere was generic with 800 tv's everywhere. When I asked about local beers the waitress recommended a Schell's draft but I was looking for a Mankato craft beer which was not an option at Pub 500. Now that we decided to move to Mankato, I will be avoiding this place until it takes an original angle on either food, beer or atmosphere... read more

The food is way over priced, I had lunch there a couple times and the last time I ordered a burger, only to learn that the $9 burger was a frozen patty. After I pointed this out to the owner, he admitted they were frozen but that they paid extra for that type of frozen patty. He gave me a giftcard for me being able to point out that fact, but lets be serious. Who is wants to pay $9 for a frozen burger. It was dry and gross. In the middle of the midwest heartland you would think they could find some fresh beef. Otherwise the Beer selection is great and the atmosphere is very Pub. Was passing through Mankato tonight with my 2 kids and stopped in at Pub 500 for dinner. Brittany waited on us and gave us amazing service, even with having at least a 1/2 dozen other tables inside / outside. I had the salmon, it was tasty, but cooked just a bit too long. Streamed veggie and red potato mashers were good. Edamame appetizer was good sized, buffalo chicken wings had a good tasty sauce with some zing. The kids seemed to enjoy their steak and cheeseburger... Nice location, plenty of TVs for watching sports, nice pub height seating all over the inside of the place. I have been to Pub 500 several times, as I am a student in Mankato. The first time i was there i just had there home made potato chips and fries, the chips are to die for, the fries are not so good. I also had a burger there once, although they have a great burger special, the burgers are not what i would expect for a bar and grill. Its a great place to meet with friends before or after going to the near by bars. Also if you are tired of the crowds in the near by bars, stop by pub 500 it usually is quieter and you can get a bite to eat there. read more

I was in the area for a wedding about a month ago, and after arriving from my long flight, meeting my family at the airport and driving the 1.5 hours to my hotel, we were ready to eat! We were looking for somewhere pretty quick, but good. My cousin who was getting married passed on some suggestions from his soon to be father-in-law. Pub 500 was one of them. Our hotel was literally a 5 minute walk away, so we walked right over. I will say that the food, and the drinks, were great. And the server was a pretty awesome, funny guy. My brother and I even got in a game of pool. And even he kicked my ass!- It was a great way to start our weekend. I don't anticipate being in the area again, at least not anytime soon...it's a pretty random (although very cute) little town! But if I do find myself back there I'd definitely stop back here. read more

While it is generally a little more expensive than the surrounding bars, I like Pub 500 for its clean, relatively quiet atmosphere and impressive beer selection. I think they have a pretty great staff, too. For vegan bar food, the sweet potato fries (with ketchup instead of the white(?) sauce) and the edemame are both good. read more

Food/selection isn't the greatest for lunch/dinner. Breakfast/brunch menu and food was amazing.

Between this place and Blue Bricks they are my favorite downtown bars for drinks and food. Pub stands on top if you actually want to drink some craft beer rather than your run of the mill light beers at other places. Their bbq is pretty good and I really like their fried pickles (spheres for the win). It's also great they have live music and trivia night. Plus I believe there is poker night on Tuesdays. A must try if you're visiting. read more

Great spot to watch a game at the same time have some good eats. Katie was our server and very prompt and pleasant! The owners are active and assuring the experience is top notch. Most of the food is lackluster and overpriced.. I do enjoy the homemade chips and the beer selections though.

Service was friendly but the local volleyball team had ordered right before us so the wait was a bit longer. Fish and chips was spot on!

Although the pub battered fish and chips were AMAZING, the attitude and overall "I hate my job" vibe we had from the bartender, Erin will be enough to keep my husband and I from coming back!! For a first timer, it was very disappointing. The steak sandwhich that we recieved, was almost tastless. The steak on the sandwhich did not have any seasoning on it. My husband and I were in town for a college basketball game and found the restaurant by chance. Boy were we lucky! Pub 500 had friendly staff, attentive server, delicious food and awesome value. We ordered the chicken cranberry sandwich, on a grilled multigrain bun. The chicken was juicy, topped with cranberry sauce and swiss cheese. Sweet potato fries were out of the world with an incredible flavorful peanut aioli sauce dip ... I want that recipe! We had the fabulous whipped raspberry cheesecake to end our evening's meal. This is one of my favorite places to go for a drink with friends in Mankato. It's a great place for professionals in their late 20's or older to hang out and relax. The service is excellent - always quick and the waitresses are very nice. Their Thursday night pub trivia is great fun! I love their buffalo blu pork sandwich and sweet potato fries. It's a unique sandwich. They change their draft options quite often, and I think at least one thing is different each time I go there. read more

We love coming to Pub! The environment is very classy, and they have live music some nights that is enjoyable to listen to. I enjoy coming here with my boyfriend if we are just looking to get out of the house and enjoy a cocktail. They have a smaller menu that changes throughout the day, meaning some items aren't available all the time. My favorite is the Raspberry Jalepeno Pork sandwich. Prices are on the higher side, but it doesn't stop us from coming here. read more

What an amazing dinner, service and hospitality! Tom was a terrific host for our table of 12. I had a turkey commercial, some great comfort food. Made with slow roasted turkey, homemade red potatoes and fresh cranberry sauce. Best I have ever had! Our group had special dietary restrictions, vegan and dairy items were plentiful on the menu. I love this place for open mic night and live music. This Pub has a nice atmosphere winter or summer. The food is good and the drinks are right. They have a serious price problem with their scotch compared to EVERY other bar in Mankato. Seriously a $4 upcharge for rocks is not in line with reality. I had to call your bar just to confirm this before writing. I ordered 2 Glenlivet rocks and had a bill of $24. This is not even a high end scotch. Fix it!! read more
