Solid place in Mankato walking distance from the Hilton. in a few sentences, my experience can be summed up by an $8 mojito, plenty of fried apps, selection of a very cheesy (with cheese curds on top!) burger choice, amid a huge menu of sandwiches and salads. Took my son and girl to Ummies tonight. Was a little busy but slowed way down by the time we ate. Had the classic burger which was beer cheese sauce and bacon on a pretzel bun. A little messy but it was very good. My only issue was that it took way too long to get a couple of beers to start and no one had the presence of minds to think we might need silverware. Our server was ok, didn't see much of him. Quite a few tvs and sports memorabilia around. It was clean so you have to give it that. Worth a visit. read more

I had the Siracha chicken burger- I wish that the chicken or sauce that was added tasted more like Siracha . That's the reason for the 3 stars. Onion wrings were pretty good and pretzel sticks . We went in today as it wasn't busy. We walked in and we were greeted immediately very friendly. It was a typical bar scene. Their menu was decent. My husband got their sticky burger my son got chicken strips and I got the chicken sandwich and tots. The food was ehhh we wouldn't go back. But if your looking to just go get a drink and some tots or an appetizer then sure. Oh we also got duck wontons and there were 4 small wontons for 10.99 ridiculous. Our total bill was 61.34. I had the special: chipotle chicken sandwich, which was just a chicken sandwich with chipotle sauce, could have used some on the side and some chipotle seasoning, but still a good chicken sandwich. We went there on a Saturday in the early evening. The atmosphere was good, and our waitress was friendly. The drinks were large and cold and it wasn't very busy. However, it took over 40 minutes to get our food, and I had 'upgraded' my french fries to onion rings for an additional $3.19 (if memory serves me correctly). When I finally received my meal, I had a total of four (4) onion rings on my plate! Two large, two small. I looked at my wife and said "Is this all the onion rings I get?" I was incredibly disappointed. The sandwich was tasty, but I was still a bit hungry afterwards. Should have stayed with the french fries. read more

Where to start so, this place was exactly what I expected for being in the heart of downtown Mankato. Although the outdoor seating is probably more for the nightlife. I enjoyed the atmosphere of downtown while eating our appetizers. The weather got a little chilly and our waiter was totally cool with us moving inside which I give mad respect for. In the past some waiters get mad, dude, the weather changes oh, get over it. The appetizer is weren't the best soft pretzels I have ever had by the quantity was good oh, I did notice that they charged an extra dollar and change for sauce for the cheese curds ( which I did not order) but still not a fan of restaurants doing that. Had the Ummies Burger for the main oh, absolutely loved it. Their sauce, is amazing, totally accents the burger in a very good way. Very impressed will definitely go back there again. read more

This is one of our favorite destinations. It has a high energy to the building, and yet is relaxing all at once. With a traditional American menu (burgers, wings, sandwiches, salads, etc.) That is both delicious and reasonably priced, we love coming here to eat and hang out. In town for a soccer camp at Minnesota State. Came here on a Wednesday night which was trivia night. Ordered chicken nachos and grilled chicken sandwich. Both delicious. Would have given 5 stars but we ordered no olives on nachos and no onion or tomato on the sandwich and both orders were wrong. Caesar salad dressing is really strong too. Overall food was very tasty. Chicken on the nachos was shredded and moist. Wish they would have real cheese and not sauce but they were still good. Chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had and fries were tasty too. read more

We had Alexis as our server last night and could not have been happier with the service! She was very attentive, and even though people at our table arrived at different times, no one had to wait for their order to be taken or their drinks to come out. Lunch for two: the wait was painful and the place wasn't even that full. Not sure what the hold up was but it took 40 mins to get our food. Upon receipt, the food was okay, but I had the grilled chicken and my lunch mate had the turkey burger. Both were fine except for being slightly overcooked. The chicken was a bit rubbery, and the turkey was a bit dry. The buns for both sandwiches were fantastic...A nice crunch and not soggy. I would give it another try.... However with the lack of crowd and slow food delivery it won't be during lunch. read more

We used to love this place but I am still haunted by our last experience. My boyfriend and I went there about a month ago around 11 at night and sat at the bar. The waitress was very cold and rude to us, I've seen her a few times working at night and she is ALWAYS this way. She got us drinks then sat down at a table and proceeded to stare at her phone/watch TV. Finally the manager/cook took our order. We got food and I also ordered dessert to go. After we got our food the waitress checked on us once to refill drinks. We finished eating and waited 15-20 minutes wondering if we would ever get our bill. The waitress finally came over and I asked for a to go box which she brought but not our bill. Finally the manager gave us the bill but it didn't include the dessert, so I asked for him to fix it. We paid but never got the dessert, so after another 15 minutes I finally asked if someone was going to bring it out. The manager looked confused as to why the waitress had not taken care of this, as she continued to stare at her phone. We used to go there 1-2x a week but may never go back now. read more
