They were very accommodating and even provided the extra plate (edit: after getting the bill, I noticed either they upped the price of the sandwich from the menu price OR they charge $2 to share a sandwich. Not real thrilled about that part, but truly the only negative)! While having a different taste with the peanut butter, it was surprisingly a delicious sandwich. Chips were crisp for the most part.

Okoboji Store is by far one of the coolest hangouts on the lake…read more We popped over for lunch on a Thursday and was seated right away, outdoors overlooking the lake. Service was great, pricing is a bit steep but worth it. The food was fabulous. We started lunch with mini donuts for the table. Wowza. I adored the dipping sauces and they came out piping hot. My kiddos were clean plate club with a chicken and waffle. I enjoyed some fabulous fish tacos with breaded bluegill. The true star of the show however, was Grandmas Cucumber Salad. OMG. I'm a sucker for cucumbers and this was a must order for me. The Okoboji Ice Water (their take on a Long Island Ice Tea) was tasty, too. Once we finished lunch we went to their game area and the kids enjoyed many, MANY rounds of gaga ball. Overall, Okoboji Store is a must-have if you're in town.

The true surprise was the buffalo wings, which were actually very good. They were vinegary and very saucy. Last, I can't fail to mention the "coldest" beer in town. Huge frosty mugs help for the somewhat limited beer selection. Good stop for a small bite, just expect it to be busy and service to be a little slow due to that (they get overwhelmed). Very good on a hot day for a cold beer.

When I ask the manager, he stated that it's normal to wait and hour and twenty mins for wings. He then put his finger in the food to feel it. After we stated we would pay for our few beers and leave. He told us to leave and not come back and we were unreasonable to think food taking that long is wrong. He challenged us as our understanding of the restaurant business, me having over 10 years in far busier places. This was a horrible experience. I DONT NOT RECOMMEND EVERY EATING HERE, DRINKING HERE, OR SPENDING A DIME IN THIS PLACE!!!! CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!
