I had a really unpleasant experience here. I don't recommend this place to anyone!! Jesus christ, I don't even know where to begin. I had no problem with the receptionist, and she is not at fault. First, I came into the office to get an eye exam that is covered by my Medi-Cal insurance. I come in for my appointment, and he checks my eyes. Dr. Nehrebecki, kept rudely saying, "I need payment" as if i wasn't going to purchase eye glasses from his office.
His machines are extremely outdated, so it was hard for him to get the correct prescription. He kept telling me my vision was going bad and needed a second visit. Since I did not have glasses, he had to give me a pair of trial contact lenses after dilating and staining my eyes. Moreover, this doctor seriously sends me outside after dilating my eyes without any plastic UV protection cover or anything. I could barely walk home, I couldn't even open my eyes.
I come in the next day and he tells me a different story that my eyes are healthy. Checks my eyes again. And then again, under his breath tells me, "I need payment, I am doing so much for you.. blah blah blah". I pick some plastic glasses, and he charges me 161$. I paid half for deposit. Then he runs and tells the reception that he has to see me again. He does not tell me what for, and i'm over here thinking it's to check my eyes one last time to get the right prescription for the glasses.
But no, I arrive to my third appointment and he's giving me a contact eye exam in which I did not ask for. It's like this doctor just does what he wants and charges what he wants. In addition, he then tells me I have to come in for a fourth appointment, and that's were I had to draw the line. Told the receptionist on the phone that all I wanted was glasses, and that I was not coming to the fourth appointment. Couple days later, she calls and tells me my glasses are ready, and then tells me a fee of $100 bucks has been added for "trail lenses".
I felt like I was cheated. Never again. read more
