Pasta
Catherine L.

Very friendly staff. The original name comes from the owner's brother. When kids the brother said "spegaties". The name stuck. I had pasta with meatballs and it was very good. I left happy.

Toasted Ravioli
Michelle L.

I'm a P'Sghetti's fan and I'm thrilled to see they recently opened up at 141 and I-44. I pass by this area pretty frequently on my way out to my farm. Today I was on my way back and had toasted ravioli for a late lunch/afternoon snack. I'm sure they don't make them but they were perfectly fried and I love their meat sauce. They were quite full when I was there considering it was a bit of an off time. Go out and support this local business. I'll be back.

Mediterranean Wrap
Zack G.

Fast casual counter service spot for sandwiches, salads, pastas, & other Italian dishes. Known for their bread. I got the Mediterranean wrap and it was fair. I also got the turkey and Swiss and it was very solid. All of the ingredients are fresh, and, although sandwiches comes on white bread, the bread is super soft, sweet, and delicious.

What is love? Well, that's easy. It's fresh pasta! If you adore Italian good...if you're a budding…read morechef or just want to up your pasta game on date night, this local business is your wingman. Midwest Pasta provides fresh pasta and flour to local restaurants. So they make their products in batches -- but anyone can walk in and purchase. There is always a supply of fresh pasta in the refrigerated section, as well as some frozen. I've had their mushroom ravioli, fettucini, gnocchi, pappardelle, and meat tortellini. Everything is DELICIOSO!! Their customer service is awesome. I stopped in to buy some fresh pasta, and was advised on what might pair best for my meal plan; and because I was traveling got an ice pack to help the pasta stay cooled. There is also a very small display of imported olives, olive oil, pesto, etc. However, the options are limited and display is limited to just a couple shelves. This is not a huge grocery, but it will accommodate small foodies out exploring the Cherokee Street Benton Park neighborhood. Double check store hours. They DO close early. So be sure to check hours and plan your visit accordingly. You'll miss out if you think you're stopping by after work or on the weekend.

I would love to get into the store and get my hands on a package of those, but alas, unless I shop between Monday and Friday, 11-4, I am out of luck. Imagine my horror as we pulled up at 2pm on a Saturday (after coming here on Saturdays before) after going to the store and buying everything my hubby needed to make me his amazing Lobster Ravioli, which is actually Midwest Pastas ravioli, but he makes a killer sauce for it, and its closed. So basically if you have a 9-5 job, you will never, ever be able to discover the wonderful things they offer here, which is a shame, and odd. Please for the love of God, open back up on Saturdays, thanks.

The St. Louis Cardinals were playing during the first time I tried to visit, and it was impossible to find a parking spot. So, if you're visiting Katie's Pizza & Pasta when there's a game, then maybe you shouldn't. Or, at least, figure out parking beforehand, or understand that you might not find parking, or you might pay $30 for parking. The second time I visited, I parked about a quarter of a mile away and walked into Ballpark Village. This time, I made it to the restaurant! I was sweaty and disheveled, but this restaurant welcomes all. It was me and a dude working on his computer, and two men who looked like talent agents, a family, and a couple celebrating something. Katie's is a great place for anyone to find a nice casual yet elevated Italian meal. I'm usually a Caesar salad purist, but I saw that the Caesar salad at Katie's is made with kale, so I was intrigued. It's a great salad! It also comes with whole anchovies on it (insert heart-eyes emoji) and a couple of whole Calabrian chili peppers, and a generous dousing of finely grated parmesan. I could have just made a meal of the kale Caesar, but I saw meatballs on the menu and thought those would be good with the salad. I love a good meatball! The meatballs here are made with beef and pork, and cooked in a San Marzano tomato sauce. They were good, but not quite as tender as I would have liked. I need my balls to crumble under the delicate weight of my fork! These required a little more pressure. They were very tasty, though. Katie's has a good wine list, and I found a nice Italian red wine to go with my lunch. The service here was a little slow, but I think that's just because they were very busy. This restaurant is located inside Ballpark Village, so it's pretty much always busy, and especially busy during game days. But the food is worth the wait.

Surprised I haven't reviewed Pasta House before now. Has it really been over four years--the time…read moreI've been on Yelp!--since I visited The Pasta House? After today's visit it may be another lengthy wait before returning. There wasn't much wrong with our visit, but there wasn't much recommending it either. There are a lot of dining options in O'Fallon and this visit just didn't stand out. We were greeted immediately but mistook the hostess' mumbled "follow me" for"just a moment." So, we were left standing until she waved us over from across the room. Communication with our sever was off also. We weren't quite following each other. It could have been me. It could have been her. Or both of us. However, our orders came correctly and quickly. All we wanted were salads. The house salad we remember as something special seemed less so--as if it were missing the ingredient that would have made it sparkle. The Caesar salad was a similar "meh;" although our server did take a moment to confirm ordered chicken was on it. Later, I had to track her down for Parmesan since she delivered our meals and didn't return. There was confusion with the gift card, which had an amount that exceeded our two meals. I wanted to apply the balance as part of the server's tip and add cash to that. I'm not sure she understood because she was focused on adding a dessert or side to use up the balance. Eventually, I left her the card plus a full tip in cash. I think she still failed to recognize either amount represented a standard tip and the combined figures added up to well over a generous tip.

Is Chappy's a Fried Chicken Restaurant or is it a Smash Burger Restaurant?…read moreDoes it really matter, when they do both very well? Chappy's is a 50's diner themed restaurant that could make you feel like you're a guest star on Happy Days. My first visit, I had to go with the fried chicken. My cleaning lady and other friends raved about it and they were right. The chicken was super crispy, the inside was extra juicy and the seasoning was on point. I was excited to see they offer about 10 different canned beers. Sometimes you just need a cold beer and they have both national and craft brands to choose from. However, if you want the true 50's diner experience, they have hand-scooped milk shakes, too. A heads up to soda drinkers, Chappy's is a Pepsi product restaurant. Oh, I forgot to tell you about my appetizer. I am Fried Pickles addict and I really liked theirs. The basket was way to full of deliciousness for one person. So be sure to bring someone to share it with. Chappy's does offer table service, which surprised me and the servers are attentive and friendly. I'll be going back soon to try their burgers and milk shakes.

It tasted like no other strawberry esc milkshake I've ever had- it's a must try! (it's not on the menu, so you have to ask for it) To top it all off... free Hotwheels! If you let a waitress know it is your first time, they will bring out a bin full of Hotwheels for you to choose from. I believe kids meals also grant this. Had such a great time here- will definitely be coming back soon!

My husband and I ate here on a Friday night. The atmosphere was not great - it felt like it should be a nicer interior especially for the prices. The tables seemed like plastic card tables with tablecloth on them and the lighting was really dim, with fluorescent lighting. We were sat in a corner that was crammed too close by another table and unfortunately I was bumped into more than a few times - it was hard to get in and out of too. My husband ordered the burger and fries and I ordered a steak. We both ordered our dishes medium but they came well done. They took my steak back and made another, but it took a long time. By the time it returned, his dish was cold. They also didn't ask if his burger was cooked right so he just ate it. My sides were green beans (good) and baked potato (just okay) and it came with a caesar salad (too much dressing). Service left some to be desired. There are lots of food runners and water fillers, it seems, but we didn't see our server a lot nor was my water ever refilled. We had to ask for bread and had to wait awhile for it, as well. The prices especially for steaks are high. I got a 6oz sirloin I believe for $39. With my husbands burger, two waters (no drinks), tax and tip it was a $70 meal. Nothing offered for our delays, incorrectly cooked entrees, etc. Bummer that a nearby, locally owned spot didn't work as we love to support local when we can. If they could elevate some of the above mentioned components to match their prices and provide more consistent quality of dishes, that would vastly help!
