Surprised I haven't reviewed Pasta House before now. Has it really been over four years--the time I've been on Yelp!--since I visited The Pasta House? After today's visit it may be another lengthy wait before returning. There wasn't much wrong with our visit, but there wasn't much recommending it either. There are a lot of dining options in O'Fallon and this visit just didn't stand out. We were greeted immediately but mistook the hostess' mumbled "follow me" for"just a moment." So, we were left standing until she waved us over from across the room. Communication with our sever was off also. We weren't quite following each other. It could have been me. It could have been her. Or both of us. However, our orders came correctly and quickly. All we wanted were salads. The house salad we remember as something special seemed less so--as if it were missing the ingredient that would have made it sparkle. The Caesar salad was a similar "meh;" although our server did take a moment to confirm ordered chicken was on it. Later, I had to track her down for Parmesan since she delivered our meals and didn't return. There was confusion with the gift card, which had an amount that exceeded our two meals. I wanted to apply the balance as part of the server's tip and add cash to that. I'm not sure she understood because she was focused on adding a dessert or side to use up the balance. Eventually, I left her the card plus a full tip in cash. I think she still failed to recognize either amount represented a standard tip and the combined figures added up to well over a generous tip. read more

We dined at Pasta House, and it was unforgettable--for all the wrong reasons. My husband's burger was so raw it practically mooed, and my pasta sauce tasted like plain heavy cream. After waiting over an hour, we were so hungry we nearly ate the napkins. When we asked for the inedible burger to be taken off the bill, the manager and our amazing waitress had a soap opera-worthy debate. Sadly, the manager never bothered to speak with us. If you're craving raw beef and a long wait, this is your place. Cons: the greasy red headed cook said the "F" word on more than one occasion, my husband's lobster and shrimp raviolis weren't plentiful for $21.99- he got maybe 6 with a bunch of sauce and 2 cut up cherry tomatoes on top, the menu is flimsy and has significantly decreased on options, lastly the waiter was cleaning prior to handing our food , didn't was his hands & would always put items far from me, so my husband would always have to hand me my items. Stopped by on a gorgeous evening to sit on their patio and have dinner. They were pretty dead on a weeknight. We sat down and ordered- I got the chicken flamingo unbreaded with broccoli- this also comes with a salad and fresh rolls. My boyfriend got the chicken parm with pasta with red sauce. The rolls were fresh and delicious and the salad was perfect as always. The food came out quickly and was done perfectly. Service was also really great. We even texted a number for a free order of cheesy garlic bread and it was delicious. Had no issues reminding our waitress to take it off our bill either which seems to always be an issue at restaurants. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and the food timeliness. Holy S**t. Almost $100 for two adults and one 13 yr old! Two soft drinks, one water, two appetizers; fried mushrooms and 6 Mozzarella sticks, two crappy iceberg lettuce salads ($5.99 ea?!) The lame spaghetti dinners didn't come w/ salad?, abt 8 raviolis on the dinner platter. I was brought a bowl of plain spaghetti noodles w/ about two table spoons of red sauce. I asked " um... could I please have some more sauce on my noodles? The waitress said "Oh sorry, I didn't even notice". It was ridiculously over priced and not horrible, but not worth a hundred bucks! Went in with husband & granddaughter and the waiter King was super!!! The manager fiddling around with no urgency or communication with guest. King had several tables and all at once - the manager never once stopped doing nothing to help King !! First time here in awhile and very disappointed in my pasta , very little taste and my husbands egg plant parm was not good as well. The rolls that they served could have been used as weapons. Not sure what is going on ?? The prices do not match the quality, maybe inject some warmth to add to a better experience. Pretty surprised to see so many 1 star ratings here. Thankfully, I disagree. Stopped by during the lunch hour and we were promptly seated. Their lunch menu has a great variety of options and reasonably priced. Excited to see the offer for a free garlic cheese bread if you opt in for text coupons...well, yes I will. I've been a longtime fan of Pasta House, but I don't visit very often. The rolls came out hot and fresh, melted the butter easily. Full order of the free cheese garlic bread and it did not disappoint. I opted for the lunch size (2 piece) Cannelloni and my friend got the lasagna, which more appeared to be the dinner size. All the flavors were great, everything was fresh and hot. Why the 3 stars you ask? Well, because it's Pasta House, it's a chain and for me that's a solid 3.5, but there's no .5 on the rating scale. I eat at various Pasta House locations all over St Louis pretty regularly. I met my O'Fallon friend for a quick Sunday lunch at this location which I had never been to before. At midday there were only about 2-3 tables occupied. When I walked in the servers and the manager were all congregated around a dining table in the dining room. I ended up ordering the Rigatoni Roma lunch special with no mushrooms. The salad was cool crisp and fresh. It was an excellent version of Pasta House salad. My pasta was kind of a hot mess. The rigatoni was over cooked. The sauce was thin and watery. I don't generally complain or send food back so I just kind of sat there. It's unfortunate the food was this bad when they weren't busy. I can't imagine what it would be like if they were actually busy. read more

Well. I came in for a great dinner experience only to be HIGHLY disappointed. My waitress, Layne, was spectacular. The drinks were WAY to strong. had to send them back multiple times and came back worse each time. Eventually I gave up on them. After years of patronizing multiple different locations of Pasta House, our visit to the O'Fallon, MO this evening was very disappointing. 5/3/24. The cannelloni was under cooked. had very little sauce. the Strawberry salad had wilted greens, barely any feta cheese. The server messed up the order due to not clarifying our orders. The entrees came out first, followed by the salads and we only got our appetizer after everything was served and we asked for our appetizer . IMO they should have comped the appetizer since it was served last. we asked for Parmesan and were told that all the shakers had been put away for the night; it was 1 hour before closing time. In the ladies bathroom all the stalls had the toilet paper sitting on top of the dispenser. so gross! also, the paper towel roll was sitting in the counter by the sink, again .. not in the dispenser. So, we paid over $60 for our meal that we did not enjoy. so disappointing. read more

Wish there was less than one star. Been coming here 4 or five times a year for several years and this last trip was a real disappointment. Host starring at guests eating literally licking the glass devider, kitchen staff hollering back and forth from the open kitchen. Food raw on the inside and some how burnt on the outside. Clearly the grill had not been cleaned with the nasty burnt char marks on the chicken. Everyone at a table of 6 had complaints about their food. The only bright spot was the server who seemed marginally competent. Compared to the rest of the experience, competent is a rockstar here. All the problems point to a manager that has given up. When I dared to complain about the noise from the kitchen, he said next time he had a complaint he would send the kitchen staff out to the table to explain. As if guest want or should discipline the staff... It's a real shame, we used to enjoy going here occasionally. It won't be any surprise if they close their doors soon. 0 of 10, would not recommend. I love the 80s, but wowza. I asked our server twice, then waited about five minutes after the second time and finally, just walked up to the manager after not hearing any difference. It was then resolved immediately. I know that will come across as minor and nit-picky to some, but it's thoroughly annoying when you have to talk loudly over it. There was only one section open and there were about 10 tables with about two people each. So, not too full for it to be that loud, imho. I'm in my early 40s, btw. It's not like I don't like listening to 80s tunes cranked up sometimes, but, ya know, not during lunch with my mom! It reminds me of those trendy clothing stores with the pulsating music spilling out, the ones that make you feel like you're walking in to a club, versus going in to try on some jeans... But I digress. The place was neat and clean. We were greeted and seated by the manager right away. Our server was pleasant, but it seemed she may have been a bit overwhelmed when we first got there. The drinks came quickly, but getting used plates, napkins, etc. off the table wasn't her first priority. We moved them to the edge, as is the typical pick-up signal, but she came and left the table a few times before taking them to the kitchen. They may have been down a busser? I came here with my friend for a easy low key dinner after work one night. It wasn't busy, but the place looked like it needed a deep clean and it had a funky smell in the air. We were seated in a small booth close to the kitchen, which felt like an odd place to put us in a basically empty restaurant. The menu is standard high carb Italian- no frills. The vegetarian options are easily marked on the menu- so that is a plus! I ordered the house salad and a veggie pasta with olive oil and it came to the table cold... that was disappointing, and the salad was soggy like the dressing had been sitting on it for most of the day. I probably won't return here because there are so many more food options close by for me to choose from that I think will have better food. read more

We visited this Pasta House location on an early Sunday evening with no more than a dozen cars in the parking lot. I received my salad in under 15 minutes after placing my order. However, it took the kitchen over 90 minutes to make two pasta dishes. The only explanation received from management was "did you see the large party we just had leave? " My daughter's favorite restaurant is Pasta House but I can assure you that we will never visit this O'Fallon location again after this ridiculous wait time. read more

Have been eating at Pasta House for years and it just seems like it's gotten stale. Stopped in for the Monday night special, endless pasta. Tried a couple of the pastas and realize that the recipes are just plain. Seems like the salad wasn't very fresh l either. Highlight of the meal was the ravioli as usual they were excellent! My recommendation is to skip Pasta House and try a Restaurant that's not part of a chain. For instance Erio's Ristorante on Jungermann is excellent and costs about the same as pasta house but has awesome authentic food. read more

Went to the O'Fallon location for dinner with a friend. It was my suggestion because I have always loved Pasta House and she had never been there. I was very disappointed and was a little sorry I suggested eating there. The service was good but the food was just mediocre. The salad seemed like it had been prepared and dressed earlier in the day. Pretty much a plate of soggy lettuce. I ordered the manicotti which tasted ok but nothing special for the price. We also ordered the strawberry shortcake to share for dessert. Again, not very good. Not sure I will be returning. read more

Seems other's are getting more attention from our server due to getting beverages from the bar. Pasta House is kind of a mid step between fast food and fine dining. We always enjoy the salad, and often get it take out for dinner. Have to say it seems they raised the prices on entrees recently, and food just seems below Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, etc for that class of dining. Last time we went, we had horrific service despite few patrons dining: waited for water, waited to order, waited (literally) 15 minutes for salads which arrived only after I complained, followed 1 minute later by our entrees. The salads are already mixed in back, all prep cook does is throw them in serving bowls, so no clue why it took so long. Worst than the bad service was the manager's attitude. When I asked to speak with him (shortly after salads and dinners arrived simultaneously) he seemed put off, said "I'll take care of it" when I mentioned waiter's lack of interest in us. Manager didn't apologize, offer us dessert, or any acknowledgement of our complaint. To me, the only thing worse than bad service is a bad attitude from the boss when he becomes aware of his employees' mistakes....... read more

Our waitress Holli was exceptional, very professional and bubbly. All in all a much better experience since our last couple visits.
