Anytime we'd call, it felt like we were a burden. Mom had a bad fall. I reached out and asked for a call back. She said she would call, but did not. I had to call her after waiting so long. Mom was unconscious after that fall for 3 days, makes me so infuriated. We didn't want to switch hospices because we thought it would be too much of a hassle with mom in the condition she was in and having to switch out equipment. Looking back, we should have. After the fall, I moved mom in with me, and the nurse changed to Armie. One of the good things about that hospice is her. She genuinely cared and you could feel her sincerity. Eventually, we had to move her to an adult family home. The nurse switched to Pearl, and she was the only other good thing about this company. Mom began actively transitioning, and at one point, began aspirating. The caregiver called after hours. You'd think they would call back pretty quickly, but nope, I had to call in again and demand a nurse call. I would not recommend this hospice. Families deserve compassionate and responsive care during end-of-life moments, and this company simply did not deliver that

Subsequently, we found our she had fairly advanced terminal cancer. The level of care and kindness shown by the entire staff (thanks, Kelly, Nedra, Michael) really touched our hearts. It's not the fanciest place I've seen, but the kindness, love and level of care mean that your loved one will be well taken care of. Our mom ended up in hospice, and eventually passed away in January, 2020. Throughout her suffering and our grief, the staff was kind, supportive and always helpful. They took most excellent care of her, both physically and emotionally. Thanks to all of you.

I have no complaints regarding the care as it was adequate and communication from the care staff was consistent. My grandmother did well enough that she was discharged alive from their services. You would think this was a positive thing, but it has been a bureaucratic nightmare. On May 18, 2025, my grandmother was discharged alive from hospice, but reported DEAD to social security. This has caused her to no longer receive benefits from social security, her pension has been shut off, her bank account was suspended. As her power of attorney I have spent a minimum of 200 hours trying to remedy this situation. My grandma has no money, resulting in being unable to pay her caregiver the appropriate participation fee. She now faces potential homelessness at 95 years old. I am still working with SSI to have her deemed alive. I am still working to have her pension reinstated. I was able to get her bank account reopened. It has been over 4 months. I now have to pay out of pocket for her medications as she no longer has insurance, due to being reported as DEAD. My problem with Alpha Hospice is that they are so completely unhelpful. They provided a letter in June stating THEIR MISTAKE and that she is alive. Since then they have not returned my multiple messages for assistance. I would estimate more than 10. I am a hospice nurse for a different hospice and am absolutely APPALLED at their lack of accountability. I would never recommend this organization to my worst enemy. I cannot adequately describe the difficulty this hospice has caused me. 0/10 do not recommend

The first two had a corporate vibe, and sent me directly into a voicemail black hole. It was days before I heard back. When I called With A Little Help, within seconds, I was talking with Kacie, one of the owners, who was so kind and spent all of the time I needed talking with me about our situation and care needs. By the end of the phone call, we had a plan for an intake evaluation, and just a couple of days later, a new care team was in place...and just like that, the stress and worry that had been accumulating over many months lifted. This is just one example of the many, many I could share about the excellent care With A Little Help offers. They aren't a corporate-care behemoth. They are local, owner run, and some of the most caring people I've met in a long time. Kacie and Paul, the owners, worked with us to find the caregivers that are the best fit for our situation. The frosting on the cake was when I received a bill for the "services" I received, which was covered by Hospice. It took me talking to three people in order to get to a person who knew what an invoice actually was and to resolve the problem. I would think twice about hiring an aide from this company as the care was seriously lacking and the basic business proclivity left a lot to be desired.
