For a couple of years prior, she had been in other assisted living facilities more like apartment living, where she was isolated and alone, never knowing who would deliver meals or tend to her needs. At Northgate Senior Care, the staff lives onsite, and they are wonderful. In the 8 months she's been there, we've seen her kind of come out of her shell. She eats with others in the home, attends activities like music therapy sing-alongs, and is very happy with the caregivers. They take such amazing care of all the residents. The facility is very welcoming, always super clean, and it always smells like home-cooking! The caregivers are attentive, ready, and willing to do whatever is needed, and they do it with a happy attitude and smiles on their faces. We appreciate them so much for taking such great care of our mom. We feel very fortunate to have found this beautiful home for our mom to live out her life. Unlike some other care agencies that i've worked with,Husky not only comes in and provides a free consult with a care manager, they CONTINUE to have the managers monitor and communicate with the family and the healthcare team. Care managers Jennifer and Kris have been stellar in this way, and have found the most amazing caregiver, Michael, who visits them 2x weekly, each for 4 hours. They do it all, from driving the couple to errands and MD appts, to an outing at the lake, to meal prep, to light housekeeping, to personal care for our hospice patient. I'm paying you to send qualified people, not random folks off the street who don't know what they're doing. This is my mother's safety we're talking about. I called management multiple times trying to fix this mess. Talked to some woman named Needy who gave me the most fake, corporate apologies I've ever heard. No solutions, no changes, just "sorry you feel that way" bullshit while nothing got better. This company took our money and provided garbage care that made my mom's life worse. I was worried that maybe she had been in an accident or something. SHE didn't call Family Resource ever again. She just quit. I was so upset! And then I went through caregiver after caregiver after caregiver. I told Family Resource that they had one more chance or I would jump ship to another company. Oh, they begged me not to get another company. And they sent M., the most amazing and caring person I had ever met who was a caregiver. We hit it off from the first day and I requested that if she had any shifts she needed filled, I would love to have her. And it was great, until recently. She has children and wanted to spend more time with them in the summer, which I totally get. But...except for my Sunday caregiver, the company doesn't seem to be able to get a driver who isn't a complete flake. And the flakes are flaking out AFTER the company had assured me that they can get a person who drives. After a lot of "will they, won't they?" I am tentatively scheduled to have a driver tomorrow (Thursdays) to take me to a weekly medical procedure. IF no one bothers to show up or something else happens, I am going to find another home healthcare company. I have been dealing with the proverbial "bait and switch" crap for at least a year! This is soooo bad for my physical and mental health. This company never returns calls in a prompt manner.
