Large Coal Fired Wings
Robert S.

We are a big fan of Providence Coal Fire Pizza. This time we got three pizzas and some wings and salad for take out.... The Caesar salad was fresh and well made with the right amount of parmesan cheese and other toppings, the dressing came on the side, which was great since many of us wanted to meter the amount of dressing on the salad. The wings were wonderful...they were coal fired and made with a nice marinate/sauce that was based on sea salt, rosemary and roasted onions...delish... The four cheese pizza was good but a bit plain for my taste. The meatball pizza was good, but not enough meatballs to make it memorable, the Rocket pizza, made with a base of a margherita pizza topped with arugula and pecorino was the crowd's favorite. Overall a solid place for pizza and wings, can't go wrong....

Had a fun date with my wife going to a place that I get to eat at more because it's in my sales territory. We got a great booth up front for a little secluded table! First the salad. The greens were fresh and so was the dressing. Very good! The wings here are a must. Salt, rosemary and onions in a 800° oven makes great wings! My favorite non-traditional Buffalo wing! The four cheese pizza is what we split. Great crunch on the thin crust, cheese and sauce are perfect. Definitely an apizza style to compete with any New Haven place. And what is better than cannoli and mousse to finish a perfect night out. Great food. Great service. Five stars!

Pizza to go.

Had to visit Newport again at the last minute and ended up booking a hotel a bit closer to Providence this time. The whole day was kinda busy visiting Brown University, a Zoo and a garden. The kids and kid-at-heart had fun and having fun requires to burn energy and to keep that energy going you need to refuel. By majority vote we ended up getting pizza and then some from here. Nothing too fancy pizza and yet not disappointing. Kids are all tired so dining in is not an option. They prefer to enjoy the food back in the hotel which we booked as suite with kitchen. We called ahead to pickup our food, the staff on the other line is courteous and everything is on time. Pizza is good, so is the pesto pasta and the salad. Would love to visit this place again in the future and dine-in perhaps to experience what the ambiance and what they have to offer.

This is a favorite local place that we haven't been to in years but chose for a birthday celebration with dear friends. What a treat! The pizza is excellent: gorgeous crust, savory toppings, and just the right size to fill up at the restaurant but have some to bring home. I finally got to have their specialty dessert, which is a favorite of mine and which I haven't had in years: homemade butterscotch pudding. Trust me when I say it is to die for. The ambience is casual and comfortable, and the service from Cam (I think I heard his name right) was top notch. This place is a gem!

Tried this pizza spot it wasn't really busy but steady....... I got the sangria it was delicious and a good amount of alcohol not too little and not too much just perfect.......I ordered their wings with onions ......The pizza I got was half check pesto and half pepperoni.... The pizza was tasty just a bit soggy....... The atmosphere was new clean and sleek........ The only thing I would say it was a bit pricey......The flavors were fresh and yummy.......

Mike and I stopped here one afternoon and we are big fans of their Providence location. We ordered pizza and of course their famous chicken wings. We were served water which was absolutely horrendous and we had to just put it aside. It's really not something that you should drink. But we each got a beverage and waited. I have to say that I have been very patient because I know that people don't want to work and everyone is looking for help. But we pretty much were the last table to be seated and everyone around us was served but we waited and waited and waited. So that was kind of uncomfortable. But the pizza was absolutely amazing and the crust was so delicious. The chicken wings were just as we remembered them from Providence. Smothered in fried onions and just wonderful.

Had takeout tonight, Caesar salad was very good. We also ordered 2lbs. of chicken wings, they were over cooked and very dry, lesson learned.

The bright orange sign is your beacon to delicious pizza! Pull in, find a spot and head inside to a gorgeous cafe-esque pizza shop. A beautiful slice display showcasing 6 different pizzas, and plenty of local options for soda, beer and wine. They make NY style pizza here at Rhody Slice. The staff here are always friendly and efficient. The person helping you is usually the one making it, so it's nice to be able to speak to your pizza maker directly if you have specific needs! We were pretty simple today, half pepperoni and half meatball. I love their crust the most. It has great texture, and it's so tasty. You can really taste the care they put in the dough. They tend to go lighter on the sauce, so keep that in mind if you are a sauce-forward pizza lover. The pepperoni are all beef and the meatballs are clearly homemade and tender. The pizza eats easily, it's so light! Between the two of us, we crushed the whole pie. Another satisfying lunch at Rhody Slice! It's not hard to overlook this place among the many plazas on Post Rd. Blink and you drive past it. So take it from me, keep your eyes peeled for the orange sign because you won't want to miss your turn.

The crust was thin, which I know is typical for gluten free, but mine was a bit burnt around the edges and a little light on sauce and cheese. The flavor itself was ok and it actually reheated well the next day, which I appreciated. My boyfriend ordered the 18" hot honey pizza and said it was solid. Not the best he's ever had, not the worst, just a good, straightforward pizza. It was on the pricier side, especially with the added card and app fees. Overall it was fine, just not a standout first impression. I'm willing to give it another try and hope for a better experience next time.

Escorted into the bar area, we chose a Counter style booth right next to the wood-burning stove. I found the additional warmth & cozy surroundings to be just terrific. That night, there was a jazz trio playing, and it added a real sense of flare to the place. My guest and I shared eggplant fries that were lightly coated & crisp absolutely delicious! For dinner he ordered a Caesar salad and lasagna and devoured every bit. I enjoyed the braised beef short ribs, which were tender, served with a rich velvety sauce & mashed potatoes. We added a side of roasted Brussel sprouts that were yummy! (though a bit over salted) Crispy cannolis with homemade ricotta filling were taken home to spoil our kiddos! I think I'm going to add it to my calamari now! The kids chicken cutlet meal with fresh cut fries were amazing! The three of us ate the fries and still took the rest to go. Chicken cutlet was thin, crispy and moist inside. We always get the same pizzas wherever we go. Naturally, it makes comparing different restaurants on a good baseline. We got a large NY style (thin crust) pepperoni with half sausage. I'm not a huge sausage fan but my boys are. However, this crumbled sausage was delicious. The pizza is put into a wood fire pizza oven, crust was perfect; thin and cooked well but not burnt. The undercarriage held its shape with a nice bite and crunch! I had to finish off the meal with a Nutella pizza and I have zero regrets. A thin pizza crust with decadent Nutella spread all over it and sprinkled with crushed hazelnuts ended the meal perfectly. Ambiance and decor is modern and beautiful, family friendly and the staff is fantastic! I can't wait to go back and try other types of pizza. They offer Neapolitan, Grandma's and NY; not to mention other foods as well. Ciao!

We sat at a high top in the bar and our waitress, who I called the Ice Queen, waited on us. Efficient but completely not friendly. We started with the Brussel Sprouts which were not great (my husband's are better), too much vinegar or something. For entrees, I had the chicken parm -- the chicken was super thick (not pounded out) and had very little flavor. The spaghetti was not fresh made -- felt like it was made yesterday and heated up -- the sauce wouldn't stick on it for some reason, weird. My husband had Eggplant parm and it was the worst he'd ever had - you couldn't even find the eggplant - it was just breading. Was sad, I'd picked the restaurant. Maybe it was an off night...?

It was a little messy to eat but hey, that's what the plate is for! I was very pleased with this pizza and I would get this again, or explore another combination on the menu.
