A salesperson from this company came to my house last week and asked to see my current security…read moresystem. I said okay, thinking it'd be quick, but he ended up coming inside, sitting at my dining table while I was literally in the middle of eating dinner with a guest, and kept trying to sell me for over an hour even though I told him multiple times I wasn't interested. I already have a system that I just installed a few months ago. I made it clear that I would only consider switching if it actually made sense, but there was no real benefit and I wasn't going to pay more for something that didn't add value. He kept pushing anyway and even tried to downplay my current setup like it was useless just to sell his system. Then today, another rep from the same company came back, ignored my "No Soliciting" sign AND my doorbell cover, and tried to say I was "interested" last time but just concerned about the price, which is not true at all. I clearly said no. The whole experience felt really pushy and invasive. I would not recommend dealing with them.

The quality of work reflects a serious lack of attention to detail and respect for the customer. Equally concerning was the conduct of the supervisor Jesus Tovar, whose unprofessionalism and failure to respond only compounded an already poor situation. After attempting to address these issues directly through calls and messages, I received no meaningful response. To make matters worse, when I attempted to complete the customer survey and provide honest negative feedback regarding my experience, the system conveniently removed me from the survey before I could submit it, and the link was no longer valid afterward. This only adds to the impression that customer concerns are neither welcomed nor properly addressed. Given the substandard workmanship, lack of accountability, poor customer service, and now an apparent inability to openly receive criticism, I have lost all confidence in this company's ability to fulfill its obligations. As a result, I believe canceling this contract is fully justified.

Reinstalled to over door in garage again surprise nothing still contact Vivint customer service to request refund for equipment. Get transferred around to five different people. They want me to help them troubleshoot their equipment. I purchased for $7.99 per month that if I had issue with their equipment someone would come out and fix any problem. April 7 contacted customer service and informed they that they have until Thursday to have a representative contact me or service will be cancelled here it is Wednesday and nothing and their equipment is not cheap. It is really expensive. Do believe all the 5 star reviews for their service. Better getting a guard dog don't be fooled by their lies of the best service in the business. Wish I had checked Yelp reviews prior to contact them.

I've wasted hours of my life just spinning in circles with agent after agent getting conflicting messages and little progress. The camera is good. The equipment is fine. Too bad they can't provide decent service. Update! After 12 times trying to have the problem resolved with customer support they are charging me $99 for a tech visit. Beware of these hidden charges.

We've had Vivint for over 4 years now i think and have not run into any of the issues the others are reporting on their reviews. Maybe we got lucky? The equipment is on the pricey side but i feel the quality is there. Customer service is top notch but I'm the 4 years I've called them maybe three times and that was just inquiries. Backyard camera sometimes would go offline but it resolved itself quickly so i didn't need to call anyone. Just like a PC or phone sometimes you just have to reboot the device. Their phone app is great, i can easily log in and check status of the house with no hiccup. Anyhow, we're moving and i requested our system to be uninstalled and booked the installation at our new house. That's how much i like their system, that I'm willing to continue using them. Hope i can shed some light on the positive side of their security system.

I have been with this security system for 4+years & im lucky that I live in a secure neighborhood because the cameras that I have lack times of the recording or don't even record. No one is helpful from this company. I URGE YOU TO NEVER GET VIVINT HOME SECURITY , they charge you outrageous prices,,, when you can go to another home security system that is more reliable. Because VIVINT AINT IT.

I will start this by saying what I like. I like the 24 hour recording rather than only recording…read morewhen it's triggered. I also like on the panel that you can view your doorbell camera, this is nice since I don't have a peephole. Unfortunately their tactics are shady. I had a rep come to my house offering a buyout from brinks. I was not unhappy with brinks, but the items above were convincing to me. I did not sign up right away, but when my in-laws were looking for a system I had gave them the number of the rep. They signed up and the rep told them to have me call and he would give me a referral credit if we signed up. The rep gave us the updated quote which ended up being $20 more and without a second camera, they told me the promo was over. Stupidly I still decided to sign on. They told me if I had the tech come that night they would waive the 1st 2 months, so I agreed. We started the buyout process, which was a total pain. We had to get a buyout letter from Brinks's, when we got the letter 2 weeks later, I sent it to the rep. Vivint sent a debit card that was supposed to cover the cost of the buyout so we could pay it, the debit card was about $400 short. It took 2 months and many phone calls to get the amount increased and it still didn't cover the amount I submitted. I ended up getting charged for 2 extra months of brinks and Vivint charged me the whole time as well. I asked for a refund on the 2 months of Vivint service and they told me I should have canceled even though I didn't have the spare money to pay for the buyout. I also asked why I didn't have the initial 2 months waived as agreed. They told me they just waive the equipment not the service. To which I said if they aren't paying the finance company, then they were misleading since I will still need to pay it on the backside anyway. It has been crickets since. When I am done paying this off I don't know if I will keep the service, I feel like I was scammed.

Then when you do finally get through the phone maze of number prompts, the representatives really don't listen to your issue. All they want to try to do is troubleshoot. Which i get if it was the first time calling in for an issue. But when it's the same issue and a customer is requesting for a technician to come out. Don't go 5 rounds with them!

I simply do not understand the level of vitriol here. The products are top notch in terms of…read morequality and this is not a difficult system to configure or understand. Our installation went quite smoothly, the tech was friendly and efficient, and the cords are well hidden. The detailed reporting logs and the high quality video feeds give me and my wife relative peace of mind when we're away from the house. I will say the default alarm settings for our outside cameras and motion detectors were a little trigger happy at first but we were able to quickly go into the system and re-define parameters for what triggers an "event". The only negatives I have thus far: -Too much upselling. It's okay to tell me what equipment and features are available. But when I say "no thanks", that's your queue to stop. -Customer service reps are a mixed bag. So far I've had two technical issues with my panel. The first was resolved in ~5 mins and the tech was very knowledgeable. The second took closer to 1 hour for a less complex issue and it was obvious the tech was confused and didn't have great knowledge of the systems. I ended up rebooting the system on my own and it was solved. Note to self....system reboots will often solve most panel problems.

Bless you if the call drops, they'll be clueless as to where you left off at. God bless your soul if you're calling after hours speaking to someone from a different country. You won't understand them and the language barrier will piss you off even more. A tech came out today to install a new camera and hours later when I armed away my house, they called me asking about a fire alarm going off on my house. My app never notified me about a fire alarm. I canceled the alarm from Vivnt but the fire dept still showed up. I don't even have smoke /CO sensors with Vivnt. If anyone fines a better house system (NOT ADT, they suck too) LMK and I'll leave Vivnt in a heart beat.
