One of my biggest complaints about this place is the fact that their Açai bowls are so good, when you try to order açai from another place you are disappointed. They set the bar too high. I don't know what the peanut butter is made of, but it's so good I think it should be illegal. I hope with all my heart it's PB Fit (For calorie purposes) although my PB Fit taste nothing like this. Sometimes when I am dying in work out class, I promise myself protein Lab. I some how finish, and drag myself in for a protein filled delicious meal supplement. This place has been my go to place for acai for years! But today we decided to get something different than the usual acai bowl. We ordered the hermosa bowl and it was SUCH a big mistake. Do not get it!!! I will vouch for their normal acai bowl 100% (texture and flavor BOMB, better than blue bowl imo) but the hermosa bowl just is not it. The difference is the chocolate almond milk; it completely killed the texture of the acai! ): Made it soupy and droopy? None of us thought it would make that big of a difference but it did so it was just a bit of a disappointment. On the other hand our protein shakes were good. A little tart/sour but I actually really enjoyed the consistency and flavor of the smoothie overall. Wasn't able to taste the spinach whatsoever which is a definite plus. PL has a number of COVID safe ordering options, including online ordering through the Yelp app, contactless payment at the store, and call-ins for pick up. I went the old fashion route and placed my order at the register: one regular sized Wipe Out. The Wipe Out smoothie is the perfect blend of nonfat yogurt, pineapple, coconut, strawberry, and banana. This beverage was definitely on the sweeter side, but made a great addition to this sunny holiday by the pool. Like he did not hear me say thick & like he did not repeat the word after me. And then my bowl came out and it looked fine. I got home and ate the bowl & my stomach started feeling a little upset. I was feeling uncomfortable for a while & then had to use the restroom. And then had to throw up. My sister drank the smoothie & she's had her battles with the toilet. I don't know if the drinks & bowls here usually give that effect, OR maybe they accidentally used some expired ingredients BUT I'm hoping that man did not put something in our order because I did not tip on a TO-GO order. They need to do a better job with ordering ahead and customer service as a whole.
