I had used this company about three years ago and had successful results with them setting up a tv and installing some surveillance cameras. Almost two moths ago, I called them to replace some of the cameras and take care of some other issues. A service representative came out and told me what needed to be done but no one ever called me back to set up a time to take care of the issue. I called them twice and no one ever returned my calls. My next communication with them was to get a bill for $280. I was charged what felt like a huge amount for them coming out and talking about the problems but they could not or would not fix the problems. If they had at least contacted me to tell me that they could not fix the problem, I probably would not have been so disappointed with this business. Great job installing & setup of my new smart TV and sound bar. Knowledgeable and efficient.

I had a door sensor not working. I called to tell them. We set a date and time for an appointment. The tech arrived about the end of the appointment time. He checked the sensor and simply moved it a 1/8th of an inch. He was in my home for maybe 5 min.. A week or 2 later I receive a bill for $121 and some change. The bill stated he was at my home for 45 min. He may have been parked outside for 40 minutes but not in my home for 45 minutes. I questioned the bill. Labor $95 1 hour min and $25 service charge plus tax. I do not have documentation that stated this ridiculous 1 hour minimum charge. I will never call them again even if the entire system goes down. A RIP OFF! They hook you in the beginning with their niceties and then screw you. I am looking to cancel. read more

I asked Protection and Audio/Video by Design to supply a quote to include an LG TV catalog number OLED65C7P along with the best receiver and surround sound speakers to complete the system. They recommended the Yamaha RX-V683BL receiver and an Episode series ES300 speaker system. I accepted and a date was set to install. Big Mistake! When the installers showed up, the TV they delivered was an older model than the one ordered. I called the salesman and he said that he could not get the model specified and that I would never know the difference between the old model and new model once it was installed. I told him that was not acceptable and that I would provide the TV specified. I purchased the correct model TV from a local retailer to be installed the same day. This year the Yamaha receiver went into safe mode. I took the receiver to a Yamaha service center along with the Episode speakers for testing. I picked up the receiver and was informed that the receiver was fine but that the Episode speakers did not meet the specifications recommended for use with the RX-V683BL receiver. Yamaha specifies 8 ohms speakers for use with RX-V683BL. The Episode speakers recommended and supplied are rated 6 ohms by Episode. I decided to replace the speakers with a system that met the Yamaha required specifications for use with the RX-V683BL. To do this, the front left and right speaker wires needed to be moved from the center of the mantel piece to the left and right edges. I hired Protection and Audio/Video by Design to move the wires. It took three visits and the tech manager was able to get the wiring straight on the third visit. Before he left, he told me to make sure that the speaker system I installed was rated 8 ohms, as that is what the Yamaha receiver required. Once paired with the right components the Yamaha receiver and new speaker system sounds great. If you want it done right, do it yourself. read more

We recently built a home and they spent more time up selling us on product we did not need. It was constant including border line harassment at certain points. After we moved in, we found that they did not put in long enough cables that would reach the TV. We reached back out to them to see if they would come back in and correct the situation and a different person proceeded to try and sell us on them coming back out to trim out the TV which in short means fix the problem and hang the TV for us - oh by the way - there's a charge. It sure seems like they left the cables short so that we had to call back. If there's another option for you to choose go elsewhere and save yourself a lot of frustration. These guys give car sales people a good name. read more
