We decided to add a screen porch a few weeks later, which understandably kicked the can down the road a bit. This is when (much like the references in the other one star review) communication began to suffer greatly, and eventually stopped, ALL TOGETHER, once we asked for our money back. We got ONE phone call, then we were ghosted completely. We called and sent messages through their website. Nothing. Keep in mind that we can prove that nothing had been purchased for this project. NO REASON for not returning my money. Seems pretty shady. So, this "Veteran Owned" company, has completely shafted a 100% permanently and totally disabled veteran. Our deck is an absolute safety hazard for my wife and I. I made that clear in one of the messages I sent. That I needed my money to get my deck fixed before someone got hurt. Nothing. Steer clear unless you're independently wealthy and care nothing of morals. Also, if you look, you will see that I write a good number of positive reviews, so don't think this is a one off. I'll also be sending this to WAVY TV 10, and the Better Business Bureau. Right now.

Cannot fault these guys. From coming out to giving us a quote/consultation, to getting our fenced…read moregate put in, they were quick, efficient and kept us well informed the whole way. We heard about and saw in person all the work they've done at the AFB. So at the end of the consultation, we put a deposit down and within a couple of weeks (as per their timeline), the work was done - and done to a very good standard too. The price came to about the same amount my husband estimated to do it ourselves, as we put up our own fence, but as time was not on our side, we decided to call in the pros. It's a simple, yet sturdy privacy gate, the dog cannot slip under it but the rain will, as the yard is on a slight camber. We recommend them!

Update: the response to my review was a continuation of the condescension, to the point of actually…read morebeing aggressive about it. It was as if they were trying to bully me into changing my review, rather than addressing any concern I raised. It's also been 2 days since installation finished and our gate has already failed. They took the time to respond to my google review prior to responding about fixing our gate. No acknowledgement of that yet. The material they use looks good, that's about all I have positive to say after this experience. They will tell you lots of pretty things about the attention to detail and how much they care when you're getting the quote and then the entire attitude changes when they have your deposit. Rosenbaum was, by far, the most expensive company we got a quote from for fencing (we're talking thousands of dollars more than the next most expensive company). When I told them we were going to be getting other quotes, they offered to add in a 10x10 temporary fence for our dogs while we waited for our installation. This, paired with how much they talked about their attention to detail is why we chose them (despite how wildly expensive they are). The temporary fence took a lot longer to be put up than we were told, and they only put up a 4x4 fence, not the 10x10 we were promised. I asked about this change, and we were told it was because they didn't have a gate that could go with a 10x10 fence. They came and extended it a little bit (we ended up with a 4x8 or so temporary fence). This was the first irritating thing that happened, and there was a total lack of communication regarding the change, but we let it go because it was temporary. We had to get our permit changed and re-approved by the city--which isn't Rosenbaum's fault. The permit process took a while and by the time we had installation scheduled, the power lines needed to be re-marked for the installation crew. Rosenbaum failed to do this on their own, and I had to ask about it. They said they wouldn't risk the safety of their crew (which is reasonable, but they should have planned ahead for that) and that we needed to wait another week for the lines to be marked. They came this week to install our fence and gave a timeline (that they claimed was on the safe side) for it to be completed. They completed everything except our gate, and left for the day. Despite the fence not being complete, they took the temporary fence away with them. Our fence had a large gap underneath, and I reached out to ask how large of a gap was normal. The response was 2-4", and I let them know that we had gaps that were more than 5.5" and we were concerned about our dogs being able to get out. The response was that "maybe they could lower the posts a little bit" but that "the fence looks beautiful". I'm less concerned with aesthetics and more concerned about my dogs and young child not being able to get underneath our fence. They trimmed a tree while doing fence installation and left the branches sitting in our yard. Nobody said a word to us about trimming the branches being our responsibility. In fact, the crew that came out told us that they would not need to remove any branches. Despite all of this, their response to me asking them to remove these branches was that it was not their responsibility and that they actually did us a favor by trimming the tree. The tree that they told us wouldn't need to be trimmed at all. They also left metal stakes sticking out in the corners of our yard. Again, we have dogs and a 3 year old child, so this was a safety hazard. They said they would take the branches as a courtesy because they left the stakes. I reached out with my concerns about all of this, I stressed that I felt like the attention to detail disappeared after the initial quote and that we were really unhappy with a lot of the things that happened throughout this process, especially given that they were the most expensive company. The response was "we are the best" and to talk down on other companies. Absolutely no accountability at all, just pure condescension.

They told us they had a COVID outbreak and could not perform the work as planned. Fine, we understood and waited for them to fully recover and perform the work. They lost their licensing and we could not let them work, as per our bylaws. Being that we paid them and wanted to get our money's worth, we asked them to do unlicensed work around the condominium equivalent to the amount we paid them. We were met with a resounding 'no' citing fees for material and restocking. We paid a lot of money to a company that did not make an effort to resolve this issue with us. They also changed the name of their company, so the name on our contract doesn't even match the name of the company we are dealing with. I will not and can not recommend this company. I have a pregnant wife, a 3 year old, a dog, a cat, and an R-32 HVAC system, installed brand new in 2024, that is still under warranty. It's leaking refrigerant, causing both the air handler and condenser to build up with ice. I called Kearny and Son's and they had a tech out the next day. He confirmed the isue was related to a faulty component that would need to be replaced, and I was quoted for around $1600 in repairs. I wasn't given an exact date, but I was given a loose estimate of about a week to the installation. I also signed up for their membership since that would waive the $90 diagnostic fee, provide bi-annual maintenance on my system, and provide me two window AC units to use while I waited. I paid half up front. After a few days, I get a call from the office telling me that the part they needed wasn't in stock and that they'd need to order it, which would run me an addition $200. Fine. About a week later, I receive another call from the office telling me that the part has not arrived, the installation is delayed, and they no longer have an ETA. Now I'm frustrated because I feel like I was lied to. Why would they take on the job knowing it could take several weeks to even get the part? I ask the rep on the phone if I can have the name of the part and to cancel the order because I'd like to see if another company in the area has it in stock to help me sooner. Afterall, it's July, and I'm hot. The rep tried to tell me that it would be very unlikely for another company have the part in stock since they quote, "all go through the same vendor for parts". This response made no sense to me. I just wanted to see if someone else had the part sitting on a shelf somewhere. I wasn't trying to see if someone else could somehow order it quicker. Ultimately I think this was just the rep trying to dissaude me from going to a competitor. I also asked if they'd be willing to waive the $200 shipping fee for my troubles, to which the answer was essentially, "probably not but I'll ask". I called around to other HVAC servicing companies in the area, none of which had the part in stock, but who all agreed that it was strange Kearny and Son's would take on the job without having the necessary equipment in stock in the first place. Go figure. The next day I called the office back around 4pm to see what the verdict was on waiving the $200 shipping fee. The rep, who was the same woman I spoke with prior, told me that she hadn't actually asked yet. We ended the call, and maybe an hour later I got a call back telling me that the asnwer was no. The following week, the part finally arrived (~2wks since the initial appointment). The tech replaces the part and things seem to work. However, 3 days later, I see ice buildup on the machine again. I call to have emergency service, which I explicitly pay for. The tech tells me they're tied up but can probably come check it out between 12-1pm. The window passes and I'm not able to get in contact with the tech until almost 2pm. The tech tells me that he won't be able to get out until almost 8pm and that I should just call in the morning to have someone come out during normal business hours. The next morning I call shortly after they open. A new rep tells me that they can get someone to come out to me the following day, or if needed, today after business hours around 5pm. I get pretty upset and I give the rep a distillation of everything that's going on, hoping for some sympathy or understanding. The rep simply repeats herself, and I begrudgingly agree to have someone come out the same day after business hours. Before we end the call, I ask to see if the tech that they dispatch to my address can be the same one whose been servicing my system this whole time since he will already know what's going on. The rep on the phone, for whatever reason, feels it's appropriate to tell me that he's not available because his child is in the hospital, which I assume was meant to make me feel bad for getting upset. All in all, working with Kearny and Son's has been nothing short of a nightmare. It seems like they're really busy. I understand that I am not their only customer. What I don't understand is why they took on my case if they fundamentally lack the resources to help me. They took $1800 and 3 weeks of my life and I have no resolution. This is too much.
