Way to expensive and they now will no longer warranty the job as they sold us on. The floor is falling through, the shelves are falling off the walls. The shower floor is stained with yellow glue, the side panels are scratched up, the toilet came unbolted from the pipe/floor. We will be seeing them in court this coming year once the 90 days is past and we can for the entire $30k cost of the bathroom since every panel must be removed to replace the shower pan, let alone the floor repairs. They do not have American workers, all foreign illegals it seems.

It was a renovation of the kitchen, living area and bathroom, HVAC and On-demand Hot Water. Plus some outside work - pouring a concrete pad for gazebo and RV Port. While I personally like everyone that we worked with, we did have some problems during construction. Demolition workers almost removed the support beam to the house before my husband asked them to stop and check with contractor. Each time we brought a concern to the foreman, the answer was always the same, "What do you want me to do?" The answer was always the same, "I want you to fix it." This included: Kitchen cabinets that were installed 2 inches from the ceiling. Kitchen island was off center and was only fixed when my husband measured and showed them the discrepancy. The concrete pour for the gazebo was not framed correctly and needed a second pour of concrete. One corner is still not square. The joint between the pours is now cracking and the owner has stopped communicating. Concrete overflow was scattered in the far backyard and was never cleaned up. The gazebo walls were installed backwards. One door they installed has a huge gap and let in lots of cold winter air. They were unwilling to run an electric line to the kitchen island because they would have to drill into the concrete slab. No drop cloth was put down when they were drilling new holes in the ceiling for the HVAC vents. After about 10 months, the grout in the bathroom and kitchen was cracking. Glue from the tile dried on the outside of the tile and looked unsightly. The contractor gave us a one-year warranty, and some things were fixed, but they have stopped communicating.

After multiple discoveries racking up in cost, we finally decided to email them. They were prompt with a response and a refund. We only asked for a refund for the work we found problems with, which was roughly 1/3 of the cost we paid for all of the work that they did.

We couldn't keep staying in hotels, so we were forced to move back in and terminate that contract. At the time, our toilette was literally in our living room, only ~30% flooring was laid down, and it turned out to be a mix of extremely cheap wood and (believe it or not) used boards they pulled up from a different project. Alvarado was the company - avoid them! We really did our homework this second time before choosing who to turn to, and we choose Haywood. Not only did they fit us in earlier than expected, and worked extra hours to get it done for us, but they did such an amazing job you couldn't tell the difference between the horrible work the first company had started (that they had to patch up heavily) and the new flooring they brought in. My wife and I were (and remain) completely amazed at what they were able to do, the really hard work the Haywood team put in, and the incredible results - its all seamless and beautiful looking throughout. An absolutely fantastic company…read more Haywood restored my really old heart pine floors. They made two hundred year old wood glisten without removing the character and history. Haywood also installed a new floor in a room that previously had nasty carpet in it. The new floor is also heart pine, reclaimed from a barn or warehouse, and they also refinished some floors that were about twenty years old. They did incredibly nice work, but they also are really nice people. They showed respect for my property with such things as making certain the gates were always secured to contain my dogs and letting me know what things were taking place each day, in case I needed to get something from a room that would be out of order for a while for product drying. The team working at my house, Wes, Frank, and Seth, are not technicians, but rather true craftsmen using decades of cumulative skills to deliver a perfect project, on time, and within budget.
