First, they removed the mold from a wall in our back room, I started breathing easier immediately following the removal. They then removed mold from our living room and it turned out to be less than we thought!! Only thing I don't like with the company is they don't put plastic over insulation after the wall is cut out. I had a lot of insulation falling onto my floor after the work was done. But I just taped trash bags over it :). Thanks for all the hard work you and your team put in. I can comfortably live in my own home now after a 3 year battle of health issues from mold :)

We had water damage to our floor from a leaky fitting on our dishwasher. We didn't know how long it…read morehad been leaking. Water was squishing up through the laminate floor about 15 feet from the dishwasher and we didn't know why. We called on January 29 after a really cold snap. They came right away and identified the source. They removed the damaged floor and dried out our kitchen and living room. They got approval from our insurance company for a floor replacement. We decided, at our expense, to also have them replace our carpeted stairs with hard wood to match the new floor. There are separate crews for mitigation and restoration. Both were professional and reliable. This ended up being a big project which required additional floor leveling and replacement of insulation under the house. All of the floor had to be removed which required the kitchen countertops to be removed and re-installed along with most of the cabinets. They were able to save all the cabinets. The drying process can take a while and the fans are noisy. They won't repair the damage until it is completely dry, which makes total sense. We couldn't be happier with the result. The floor looks fantastic and the stairs are crisp and modern and meet current code. United Restoration treated us well during the mitigation and restoration. Just plan for it to take longer than you think because there are so many moving parts with demolition, plumbers, painters, etc. We recommend United Restoration wholeheartedly.

If you have USAA just call United Restoration. Lawton did a fantastic job walking me through the claim process, provided recommendations during demolition and rebuilding and expertly managed all of the trades (electrical, dry wall, plumbing, construction, painting, floor team, mitigation...). Lawton's thoroughness and attention to detail prevented any rework or mistakes. Our renovation was not simple - we removed the sub floor, removed a wall, all new flooring downstairs, extensive electrical work and got pre-existing issues up to code, rerouted plumbing, new counters, cabinets, ripped out a sliding glass, put in French door, side lights, a coffee bar and bourbon bar, all new appliances. Not to mention all the scheduling of City inspectors.

One was at my rental property, the second at my primary residence. When a new tenant moved into the rental property we found many things that weren't done correctly, some that cost me a large amount of money. Thank goodness there was a new project manager, who corrected many of the problems caused for the last project manager. There was a huge amount of leaking when my tenant took a bath. It caused water damage in both adjacent bathrooms. The master bath floor was to be taken down to the studs in the insurer payment. It wasn't. When the hall bathroom flooded, the workmen found asbestos that has been covered by layers of tile. My question was if the adjacent bathroom floor had been removed to the studs, wouldn't asbestos have been found there too? The Project Manager admitted Yes. Asbestos was then found. The company covered the asbestos removal in that one bathroom but not the other. If they had done the work correctly the first time they would have known both bathroom floors were the same. Then the source of the tub leak had to be found. The plumbing under the house wasn't going to the city's connection. More big bucks for me. The new project manager did correct some issues that the now no longer employed Project Manager didn't correct. He couldn't believe that he actually took the new toilet I ha recently replaced & replaced it with a cheap one. I saw it & said "Where is my toilet?" The next day what I thought was my toilet has been returned,. But when I tried it the lid wasn't solid like the one I had recently bought. My theory was that he was running his own business on the side & skimming from First Atlantic & its customers When I had a pipe break at my primary residence I panicked & called First Atlantic. To my chagrin they assigned that same Project Manager. On hindsight I should have requested someone else. I later learned that he was sub contracting work to companies not used by First Atlantic. They had to remove the tile from my master bathroom floor to mitigate the water damage. It was obviously not done correctly. A few years ago I had my front door removed. The stud it was connected to, which was directly under the worst of the water leak, was so rotten that it crumbled into pieces. The tile company didn't shield the bathroom correctly while they ground away the inches of hard insulating material under the tile. My vanity, closet & bedroom were coated with the residue. I had to throw many things away. When the cleaners he hired were asked about cleaning the area they indicated their instructions were to clean a path from the VA bathroom and down the front staircase . I later learned that First Atlantic has their own cleaning crew that would never have said that. I could go on and on. Suffice it to say that even with personnel changes, I would never hire this company again.

He returned three days later and opened the ceiling. Saw some mold and the UPSELLING began. After three days of disrupting, energy sucking drying equipment, I requested that they remove the stuff they wanted to leave for an additional two days. The plumber returned, looked at the area and requested that I cut holes in the HVAC ducting so that he can access the leaking drain. At this point I had, had enough and repaired the drain without cutting holes in the HVAC and it took 1.3 hours and $11.00. After a $1500.00 down payment for the drying they are now sweating me for an additional $500+ less than a week after invoicing me. Won't use them again because they just try to milk you and your insurance. Plus, $1200 to install a shower drain? They SUCK!

They had to rip out the little bit of work he did complete because they didn't trust it. Tile was done before plumbing was complete, for example. There are many outstanding lawsuits against him.
