The park is a skinny little strip of trees and shade that runs east to west through downtown Saline, between the S. Ann Arbor St. / Pleasant Ridge Dr. intersection and Monroe Street opposite the Oakwood Cemetery. You can park on Pleasant Ridge and cross the street on foot, or you can go over to Monroe Street and park in the lot behind Annie's Children's Center. The baseball diamond, basketball court and tennis courts are behind Annie's off Monroe. The rest of the park consists of the shady trails that run mainly east to west through the trees, though there is an open area that might or might not be mowed. Perfect for flying a kite or RC plane. Sometimes the mosquitoes are pretty bad in the shade. You might want bug repellent. Also, be careful of the poison ivy, but the trails are wide and you won't have much danger of stepping in the P.I. if you stay on the trails.

My son joined the AAU league in April 2023. The cost was roughly $1000.00 to join the league. Coach…read moreMoose's son played on the 5 th grade team and he was the coach. Coach Moose exhibited favoritism towards his son during practice and games. Poor sportsmanship was exhibited as well. If the other children made mistakes in practice or during the game they were immediately taken out. Most times, he did not use those occurrences as teachable moments. Therefore, the children, did not learn from their mistakes. Basic basketball fundamentals were not taught regularly. Other parents spoke out about the favoritism, lack of fair play and poor coaching. Ultimately, after playing with the team for two months, through two tournaments and five games, the coach decided to cut kids. He cut three kids from the team and allowed a child who played with the older league to transition to the 5th grade team. After that, a parent meeting was called. At the parent meeting they insisted that the kids sit next to their parents. Coach Moose's wife was unprofessional at the meeting. After the meeting, I went to express my concerns (w/o children present) to the coach and his wife. They did not like that I felt the coach showed favoritism to his son although he was never taken out after blatantly refusing to take the ball out in every game, multiple times. They did not like that I expressed that the kids aren't learning from their mistake by being taken out of the game. During that conversation I was informed that Coach Mooses wife was also a coach and her opinion mattered as it related to the coaching techniques utilized. The coach's wife Nita had a very poor attitude. They kicked my son off of the team because they did not like that I had concerns, even though they asked if any of the parents had concerns at the parent meeting. Joining this team did more harm than good. He failed to teach the young men how to overcome adversity. He indicated that the kids who were cut, skills were not up to their standards after allowing them on the team. However, Coach Moose and Nita eventually informed me that they created this program for their children and if they get better treatment, oh well. After the coach attempted to gaslight me multiple times by informing me that I was not watching the games, he later indicated that my concerns were being addressed with their son at home. I will never trust Coach Moose with my child again. I understand this is a family grown business, but you can't take money from people and treat them any kind of way. It's not okay and ultimately the children suffered.

They have a playground (with bathrooms in the back) and the trail goes down a paved steep decline that then leads into the boardwalk path way. It is not the most stroller friendly mainly because you are dodging a TON of swan and geese poop the whole time. And it can be bumpy on some parts. But the whole pathway is pretty unique with bridges connecting it (at least 5 bridges) and there is one lookout spot you can go to. We went on a beautiful sunny and windy day and loved it!! Saw so many birds (I have never seen so many swans together before) and nests!! Lots of people fish here too. What a gem! Definitely coming back!

There are several spots with picnic tables and benches throughout the trail as well as workout equipment in different spots throughout the trails.
