Charming park with two different gardens and a cute farm themed playground! And of course lots of trails. Loved the flowers they had (some were as big as my face)! Will definitely be coming back! read more

Nice town park and child playground. We liked the community garden right next to the play area. Very kid friendly and educational.

Well I have set a target of 13k steps every day and every weekend exploring the local trails for my target . Did my walking today at this park and it was amazing. This park has acres of installed landscapes, and hundreds of planted specimen trees (oaks, black-gums, maples, ashes and more!) There are great sensory opportunities in a special octagonal perennial garden; diverse and vernacular vegetable and flower displays. Good part is they rent out small parts of land to do gardening(PROJECT GROW) Pros: ------- Picnic Shelters walking/jogging/biking trails Clean restrooms Kids play area Parking available off of Platt and Medford Roads Edible nuts and berries may be sampled, but may not be collected in bulk and removed from the park read more

I first visited this park with a friend, and quickly came back a couple of days later to explore some more. Like many people this year, I have sought both adventure and solace in the outdoors as the pandemic has raged on. Visiting outside with friends, especially if we discover new places as we visit, has proven to be one of the best ways to keep cabin fever at bay. A friend and I met here to wander some of the paths one weekday evening. I loved seeing the transition here from a large playground for kids, to walking paths that roll through wooded areas, meadows, and finally pass by a community garden. It feels like a peaceful oasis from the bustle of Washtenaw Ave just along the way. My partner in crime and I returned a couple of days later to explore the walking paths some more. We took the outer loop and saw where some trails connected to outside neighborhoods (more places we can walk if we get the itch), and ran into quite a number of deer that evening. Most of them were happy to munch on leaves, while others eyed us warily before jumping off into the woods. Along the way we ran into other walkers and runners, and we were all able to keep a courteous social distance as we enjoyed our time in the great outdoors. If you're looking for a new place to enjoy some time in nature, visit County Farm Park for a little break from the day-to-day. read more

The play area alone for the place is worth 5 stars. Sooo cute! This park is clean and just so peaceful. Plenty of seating areas, the landscaping is just beautiful and I really consider this a hidden gem. None of my friends knew about this place until I told them all about it. We love doing meetups with the kids here when weather permits. read more

As far as parks go I'm particularly partial to this one because of all the options you have while being there. Gardens, trails, picnic tables, playground... Near the Platt entrance there's a modern playground replete with a children's mini climbing wall, fancy slides, and all sorts of things I was deprived of as a child of the '80s (when there were tire swing chains to get your head caught in and slides to give you tetanus). There's a community garden you can walk through that's part of "project grow" - I believe parts are maintained by groups from the juvenile detention center - you can also rent a plot for your own gardening needs. If picnic'ing is your thing, there are few pavilions onsite, first-come first-served basis. There are restrooms and a drinking fountain (but no dog fountain). The most magical area for me is the gazebo-like skeletal structure near the perennial gardens. It is completely covered in grape vines and standing in the middle of it makes the whole world melt away for a moment. The use of this park is fairly constant but I've never encountered more than one person on any of the paths. Speaking of paths, they are all loops and some of them even intersect one another. This gives you a good variety of distances from which to choose. They wind through a nice selection of wooded flora and fauna (rabbit, birds, and deer are fairly common sights). If you have dogs, there are multiple dog waste stations with bags and garbage cans along the way. There are also benches along the way to sit and rest or daydream. There is a narrow foot path where bicycles and dogs are prohibited that is great on the knees for trail running. And there are fairly wide graveled paths (I'd say about 5 ft. wide?) that is multi-use. Be warned, though, there isn't a lot of shade in the inner and outer loops. All in all, the grounds are well-maintained. Whether running, walking, biking, gardening or playing - whether flying solo, with dogs, with family, with friends - whether you want to exercise or just hang out - this park has it all without being crowded. read more

This place is an old favorite. I was so happy to return with my kids after a few years away and see that it's still the wonderful little spot I remember. It's tucked away not far from Washtenaw. I picked up my coffee from Mighty Good Coffee and went over here. The walking trails are beautiful and the playground, while it's more geared toward the littler kiddos, my son still had fun running around and playing. There are some nice shady spots for parents to sit and chat while their kids play. Such a great little spot. read more

Great park and playground especially if you have children in tow. So clean and well kept. All the structures in area shape and a variety of styles and sizes to accommodate all ages. We saw a few birthday party groups with space to play and celebrate with food. Parking was ample the day we were there. Gardens and big trees give this place shade and a real feel of green space. Our hosts go there regularly and it appeared that this is a favorite place of Ann Arbor area locals. I'm sure we will visit there again. read more

This has been a favorite park for many years. However, the trails could be potentially dangerous. There seems to be an invasive species killing a lot of the trees and "hollowing" them out. Many are near the trails. In fact, I recently had to climb over a heavy dead branch on the trail. It really is that bad, so please be aware. I have been all over the metro area and I am seeing the same thing...so sad :(! read more

My favorite Ann Arbor park to exercise in! It's beautifully maintained with running trails of varying elevation interwoven throughout fields and woods, and there's a fun playground for kids with benches on the side for their parents/guardians to sit on. There are also several garden plots provided through Project Grow you can register for through their website if you're interested in testing your green thumb (sadly moldy in my case). I would suggest signing up as soon as registration opens around January - it seems to be a popular plot! This park is also great for dog owners as there are several stations that provide bags for dog waste and a receptacle to place your trash in. I love that there are little exercise stations (for instance, a balance beam to walk across) placed throughout the trails if you want a break from walking or running. There are also picnic tables and bird feeding stations spread throughout grassy patches in the park and BBQ grills nearby the entrances for visitors to use. Sometimes you'll see birds, deer, and rabbits darting throughout the trails. It's just a really peaceful and restful park to be in. read more

No earphones required! This place is an awesome run! You get lost in the sounds of the trees and the squirrels and the birds. And there is shade! There so many variations in this writing that I'm sure you'll never get bored! There are plenty of people having birthday parties and picnics. The grounds are so well maintained and the flowers are beautiful. read more

Nice wood-chip loops through hilly, wooded terrain. There is a large community garden. It's fun to watch people working their plots, and to see the variety of produce they're growing. I suppose if I had a plot of vegetables, I'd feel a lot of pride and positivity about the park. Even as a visitor, it seems worth three stars. read more

County Farm is an oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Washtenaw Avenue. There is an awesome playground for kids - so awesome it makes me wish I had a kid so I could climb on the equipment without being stared at! Other features include a covered picnic area with washrooms, BBQs, drinking fountains... Community gardens courtesy of Project Grow... a few miles of trails that lead you through shady trees, open valleys, wild gardens... a "dog free" nature trail... An "exercise trail" which is mostly shaded and had exercise stations along the way (my personal favourite- an easy way to walk AND work out). It is right next to the Rec Centre and Arbor Hills shopping so you can stroll around after indulging at Zola Bistro or Bigalora. read more

Love this park! This is yet another reason Ann Arbor is a great place to live. The park is very well maintained. This park has great trails which are soft for running/walking. They are wide for easy sharing with others. There are 18 fitness spots along the trail that you can do if you so desire, things like pull up bars, crunch ramps, sand pits for jumping jacks. There are even a couple of decent hills, it's great! It is a great place for exercising, walking dogs, enjoying nature, bird watching and much more. There is a large play area for kids, a community garden area, a pavillion! read more

The area is really well manicured and has some really nice trails running through the park. My husband and I like to run here. I saw a ground hog here once and an older couple catching butterflies. So it's a pleasant place to be! The only thing that could make it better is if there was a pond of some sort. read more

Best park in the area! Lots of features and amenities for visitors. Has a great playground for children. I really like the flower garden they have in the middle of the park featuring local plants. I've participated in the community gardens for about 5 years now. It's run by Project Grow, which oversees community gardens in a large number of parks and other locations in the general Ann Arbor area. I'm really grateful that County Farm works with Project Grow. For 3 years I lived in an apartment within walking distance of County Farm park. It's such a great resource - a beautiful oasis in the middle of an otherwise urban area. The trails are great and the forest is a beautiful, calm spot that feels like stepping into an alternate dimension. I've been there in the middle of summer as well as the dead of winter. Walking through the forest during a snowstorm was an unforgettable experience. There is a small section that is a little lower and swampier than the rest of the park - you'll want to pick up your pace through this area. Lots of mosquitoes. The trails are generally up-kept with care but I'm personally just not a fan of the big white gravel rocks used on some portions. They hurt my feet sometimes and can make the terrain a little uneven. I try to walk on the grassy edge in these areas. read more

What an amazing place! It is set back from the road so you don't have to worry about your children running around and playing near the streets. This also means you don't have to listen to traffic going by while you are trying to enjoy nature. This park has the largest playscape in Ann Arbor (as far as I know). They also have these giant structures in the shapes of flowers and butterflies which serve to provide shade for the playscape which is a lifesaver during the summer months. There are also plenty of trees for shade around the perimeter of the playscape and benches/chairs and BBQ pits for picnic-ing. They have a large community garden in which you can rent and plant your own crops. It is also just a lovely place to stroll around and educate your child about the different types of plants/crops and how they grow. They also use the a foam type substance under the play structure which I find to be safer then your average wood chips. Can't wait to try out some of the walking trails when the weather cools a bit. read more

Great place to do some circuit training mixed with cross country running. Has some hills as well which is nice.
