I took my 13 year old daughter to get full set Jenny rushed, cut her finger til it bled then the blood got under polish and it looks horrible. I would not recommend Prospect Nails unless you don't value your time, don't mind being taken for granted, and are fine with just okay service. I used this salon for 10+ yrs through three owners. I gave the latest owner, the ex-wife of the previous owner, the benefit of the doubt through many concerns, for well over a year! I am a loyal customer and realize that everyone has bad days now and then; however, I have "always" had to wait anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment times, even though I am always about 5 minutes early for each appointment. Every now and then this can happen because of people before me running late, etc., but not "every single time", every 3 weeks, for a solid year! I began to realize that this owner was taking for granted that I would continue to return no matter how I was treated. There was a 50-minute wait at one appointment because she had taken a walk-in right before my appointment. that should have been the last straw for me, but I didn't have time to find another place and made one more appointment. I scheduled a 4:30 appointment a week in advance. The day of, because of a change in my plans I called to see if I could get in a little earlier, and was asked if I could come at 4:45!! I said, " So later, instead of earlier?!?" She said yes. I said okay, hung up, started looking at reviews and calling around until I found someone with great reviews who could take me right then. I called her back and canceled and will never return. That was finally the last straw because had I not called to see if I could get in a little earlier, and just shown up for my 4:30 appointment, I would have again been kept waiting at least 15 minutes if not more. She absolutely took my loyalty for granted! I am loyal, but I refuse to continue giving my hard-earned money to a business that doesn't respect my time and loyalty as a customer. read more

They were just in a rush the entire time I usually get my pedicure here and it's wonderful but whenever I get my nails here it's just very rushed and I paid $125 for nails that are not even close to $125 so I am officially changing my nail salon after almost 5 years of going here because of the past few times consistently not being up to standards like they usually are. The lines are supposed to be curved and not sharp. When I spoke up about how faded the nails looked. She sort of got an attitude which is what ever I can deal with that but I'm just very disappointed that I paid $125 for something that looks like a two-year-old drew it on my nails, I am very disappointed that I'm going to have to change my nail salon after five years. This is a secret because my husband bought this for me as a gift. Thankfully he doesn't use Yelp. Freaking terrible! Aesthetically the inside is nice so that's a plus. As for actually being able to follow through on a decent mani/pedi not so much. After 2 hours of a lackluster pedicure (but hey I could have lived with that) my person put my hand in a bowl of water and left me there for 30 minutes. I couldn't find him anywhere, I was essentially charged $65 for a long mediocre pedicure and a finger soak. Seriously, it got to the point that I just wanted to get out of there. I wasn't even going to complain, I was just like please let me leave. I'm starving and I feel like I've been held hostage because I'm too polite to say WTF is going on here?! . I've been here a few times so far. The first time, the wait ended up being over an hour so I had to leave. I got ombré acrylic nails the second time and a fill-in the third time. They really do a beautiful job. I'm sure I'll go back again. The only issue I have is the wait time, when I was told it wouldn't take long. The first time I went, I was told it would be about 20 minutes but I waited over an hour. The second time, I was told 5 minutes but I waited 30 minutes. I don't mind waiting. I'd just prefer to know in advance so I can plan accordingly (but to be fair, I went during the busy weekend time). Other than that, it's great. They know people by name here and are nice. Prospect nails is a really nice nail salon. A couple of my aunts come here often and always say great things about it. One of my aunts gave me a gift certificate here because she really wanted me to try it out. She also mentioned her go to tech was Jennifer and how wonderful she was. I came in to get a pink and white full set. This salon is a lot more expensive than average, which doesn't surprise me being right in the heart of Prospect. It was $45 for my service not including the tip. They were pretty busy for a Monday afternoon, I waited about 40 minutes, but they did tell me ahead of time so I was okay with that. I can't remember the name of my tech but she was very nice. The service was a painful during some points but she was very apologetic about it. In the end, I thought the nails turned out great. I probably won't be back anytime soon just because it is 30 minutes away from me, but if I am ever in the area again I would definitely come here. read more

This place is extremely unprofessional and dirty. The manager is rude as can be and will argue with customers. they have cut my fingers and skin before with clippers and filing so hard it has broken skin around my nail, then blamed me for it. They never give you the color you ask for and get mad when you correct them. The designs are sloppy and the whole experience is rushed and uneasy. I wanted gel acrylics, and instead was forced to get the dip powder despite being adamant I did not want that. The manager caused a scene arguing with me on what I wanted done. I knew the price of the acrylics and wanted that price, and told them I would not be paying more and they ensured me dip was the same price. my nails looked horrible and they attempted to charge me $20 more than what they said. I've been coming to Prospect Nails for quite a few years now and I can't recommend them enough! I've sat in just about everyone's chair at some point or another and they all do a terrific job. I typically book with Jennifer just because her attention to detail is so refined. She puts so much effort into my nails and it shows! This is going to be long winded - but needs to be shared. I NEVER write negative reviews but this one is necessary. I went today for a fillin and pedicure. Nails- as always look great. I will say this place does a great job on nails. However , this was my first pedicure here (and will be my last) .... The woman used the cheese grater tool on my foot and went in first on the tips of my toes with it ! OUCH! I jerk back as to let her know it hurts, so she moved on. As she's massaging my feet, she investigated my toe again and squeezed on it. So I'm like 'ok is this bleeding??' I pay - $100 for a fill in, with designs and a pedicure after being there for 2 hours- and go to my car and my skin is broken and bleeding. There is blood in my sandal. So I call, because I'm not one to make a scene and this man apologizes, and that's basically it. So, I said 'I just want to make you aware because she broke skin so that instrument is grossly contaminated' he proceeds to tell me they're all sterile and such .... Little does he know I have a degree in surgical technology so I explained to him unless it's in a sealed peel-pack with an indicator that has changed color- it's not sterile. I wasn't even going to make a fuss about that until I saw an opportunity for education. Anyway- enter this place at your own risk. He seemed to care but not really. read more

This was my first visit to Prospect Nails and I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. The color I requested for my toes is not even close to what I got. I recognize that I should have said something and I chose not to. While my nails and toes were painted well, the nail tech cut my finger. I also didn't get any lotion or oil with the manicure I paid for. The place seems overpriced but maybe that comes with the location. I also didn't see any cleaning of tools or surfaces. read more

I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the service here. I was a returning customer and will no longer be attending anymore after almost a year of going to this salon only. I wanted ombré nails and showed them a picture before the lady started and confirmed she could do it. She asked me if I wanted the base to be a nude (like the photo I showed) or a pink nude for the base. I appreciated her asking and I said I preferred the pink nude. Throughout getting my nails done I noticed it looked nothing like ombré nails, each one was different and they were basically just a pink, which is not the ombré look where it's suppose to fade into a white. I showed her the picture and told her that it didn't look like ombré she agreed and had the manager come over to "redo" them. At this point I had already been there over an hour and the manager recognized they were bad when she came over to fix them. She knows me and knows I have been coming to the salon for a while and I have never asked them to fix anything cause I usually just get a color but wanted something different this time. She was incredibly rough with my hands and grabbing and yanking them as she "fixed" them. I think my nails were filed 3 times and drilled at least 4 and are very brittle now since I use my natural nail. I told her I was not satisfied as she was trying to redo the ombré I had asked for. It has now almost been two hours and 15 minutes since I have been sitting in that chair and clearly am unhappy with the service. My fingers were cut and bleeding from her rushing just to get me out and some of the fingers were still different looking but at least I'd walk out with them unlike before. I'm assuming since she knew me and I was a returning customer, always tipped, and had never asked for my nails to be redone; she would obviously give me a discount because I told her I wasn't satisfied and had been sitting there forever and had acknowledged it. Well I was wrong, she charges me $70 dollars and I respond saying "$70"? The manager then raises her voice at me with people all around in HER salon, tells me how it's my fault that I chose a nude pink as the base and not a nude like the photo I showed. Which doesn't make a difference at all and without her even knowing her employee asked me which one I wanted. She tells that she will give me a $5 dollar discount and I honestly was so embarrassed for her I was not about to argue with this woman who obviously needed the money more than me, I payed and will never be going back again. read more

Great location. I've been twice now and both times I was a walk-in and was seen within 5 minutes of waiting. The prices are very reasonable and they're experienced and fast here with several choices. I'm one who still gets the old fashioned acrylic and no gel. Some places that isn't even an option anymore. This last visit, my nails had grown at least 6 weeks since my last fill-in and my previous salon would've gotten on me for that, but he didn't. He just fixed them for me and went about my fill in. I have been pleased with my nails after each appointment.....today was a different experience altogether. Arrived early, noticed Lynn had just begun to polish someone else's nails and I ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes. I have gone multiple times over the past few years and have had good experiences. But this past time I went I got cut on 6 of my fingers while getting dip nails. Today I have had them bleeding and sore. I'm not sure what happened that was different other than just lack of caution. We have been getting our nails done for a while now and it's always an extremely long wait. We made our appointment today for 2:30 and verbalized which techs we wanted. As we were sitting there two walk in clients were taken ahead of us even though they had no appointments and given to our requested technicians. At 3:10 we got up after a quick phone call and decided to go to another salon which seated us with a tech right away. I have had Lin multiple times who cuts me and makes my fingers extremely sore and bleed every time. I ask her not to do something that hurts and she does it anyway.
