Extremely disappointed, definitely glad we tried it out before taking our out of state friends there. I got the She Crab soup, $9 for what was supposed to be 8 ounces, my husband actually called to understand if the 4 ounces we got was really right! Taste was ok, nothing too exciting. Now, the crab cakes... $15.99 for the 2 SMALLEST crab cakes I've ever had! They did a nice job with the amount of crab; however, it was pretty flavorless, had they not had the crusting, it would've tasted like eating crab out of a can warmed up. We spend a lot of time eating at coastal restaurants, maybe I expected too much from Props, definitely not worth the price, learned my lesson, we won't be back. I want to love this place, but every time I've been there the service has been subpar. The food is delicious and high quality but it doesn't really match the atmosphere (if that makes sense). I had heard mixed reviews but decided to try it for my husbands birthday. We arrived at 6:45,on a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately. The dining room was full at the time. We ordered our drinks and decided what we wanted to order. My husband ordered a steak and I wanted to order the grilled grouper until I saw the table next to us complain about the grilled grouper served coated in breading. It looked more like a fried crab cake ! It ruined it so I ordered the blackened barramundi. It was a light ,delicate piece of fish however not very filling. The sides were delicious and my husband's steak was grilled perfectly. Our friends told us about the amazing Pecan Turtle Cheesecake but it's no longer on the menu and were so disappointed. Excellent service and food! We ordered chicken fingers and fries with carrots for my daughter and the chef came out to tell us they were out of carrots. Less than 5 mins he magically brought carrots. So I placed a to go order tonight. I spent 100 bucks and ordered four plates. When they took my order they quoted me 25 to 30 minutes before the food was ready. After 50 minutes, they brought out the hot food. Then, the girl had to go into the kitchen and spend another six minutes making the salads. We were looking forward to checking this place out, building is really cool and I love that they decorate and show appreciation for our military. Unfortunately the experience was terrible from start to finish. Had a reservation, checked in at the lobby and was cast aside mid sentence to check in someone without a reservation. Three different server's or bartenders came to our table to ask us again what ingredients we wanted after the initial order of a skinny margarita. Took nearly 30 minutes to get a beer and their attempt at a skinny margarita (still made wrong) even though we listed every ingredient needed every time they asked. I ordered a salad, wanted Italian dressing which I was told they don't carry, I asked if they had oil or balsamic vinaigrette, inexperienced waitress (her words) attempted to push their special parmesan, in which I clearly stated I didn't want and wouldn't eat a salad if Italian, oil, or balsamic vinaigrette wasn't an option. She left, returned nearly 10 minutes later and stated they had balsamic vinaigrette and I said great, I'll take it. When the salad arrived it was accompanied by their parmesan concoction which I clearly stated that I wouldn't eat. The unfortunate part is that the waitress new exactly what it was and served it to me anyways, in her words in hopes that I liked it because as it turned out, none of my three choices were available, so instead of telling me that so I could order something besides a salad, she decided to intentionally serve me something I clearly didn't want. Thank goodness I don't have a serious food allergy and didn't eat what I didn't order. The food was fine, didn't like the Mike Mule, and the service was terrible. Not only did we barely see our waitress, Hanah, but she didn't give my husband his card back after he paid!! When we finally brought it to someone's attention, she laughed about it with the other waitstaff behind our back!! This place is amazing! The atmosphere is also very nice and welcoming. Our waitress was Zykeyia and she was fantastic. She was very attentive and made sure that we had a pleasant experience. My husband and I came here for my birthday. He ordered a margarita and I ordered their mojito. Both came promptly and tasted great. For the appetizer we shared the crab and shrimp dip with the pita chips, it was rich and delectable. We both ordered steaks; his sides were a loaded baked potato and the baked macaroni and cheese, I had the sweet potato casserole and asparagus. All of the food was seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. We both also ordered a side of oysters, his were fried and mine was the Oysters Rockefeller. My oysters were baked with spinach, Parmesan cheese and topped with bacon pieces. It was absolutely amazing! This is the best restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. We couldn't even eat it all there and even after reheating it later at home the food was still amazing. If I could give Props 10 stars I would! If I could give this place no stars I would. My brother had a gender reveal party and Props destroyed it. We wanted a nice dinner and honestly the only good thing about this restaurant was our waitress Melissa and all the hard working staff besides the manager and owner. The made us wait almost hour to seat us which was fine because it was a large party. We waited over 45 min for water. Melissa was working so hard we felt bad for her. The manager on duty made her serve us alone when it was other staff available. We were sat at 7pm and didn't receive food until 8:30. Not once did the manager Grace come over to apologize for the wait. She instead was very condescending and rude and said "well you shouldn't have had such a large party. I was flabbergasted. So I asked for a discount and she took $4.20 off of a bill that was $125. We spent almost a $1,000 and we only received $20 max of a discount. When the food did arrive they gave everyone whatever side dishes they had left it wasn't even portioned correctly and still were charged full price. We all still payed and tipped Melissa well because this horrible experience wasn't her fault. My sister in law was in tears when she left because Props ruined her big day. When I asked Grace about the discount she said her boss Cathy said don't give a discount and she went against her wishes and gave it to us anyone and told us to excuse my language "get the **** out". Please whatever you do do not patronize this place. Cathy will steal your money and give you scraps that are leftover just so she can be greedy. I have never been treated like this. Cathy called my phone and called me a very nasty name and I will be filing a complaint. read more

I'll admit we almost didn't come because of the reviews but decided to roll the dice and give them a try. Glad we did! John was our server and was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the crab claws as an appetizer and they were so good. For entrees we had the low country boil, rib eye steak and shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. I thought the portion to price point was very generous. It's nice to have an option that is not fast food or a chain! We will be back to try some other items on the menu. read more

I am not a big seafood eater at all but I went into the restaurant to look at the menu and it smelled so good that I when I went out to show my husband the menu I told him we have to eat here it smells so good. We went about a month ago. No wait for a weekday evening. Great hostess staff. Kind of pricey. My ribeye steak had little flavor, was not seasoned at all, and there was a hunk of gristle in it. It was cooked correctly as ordered. The service was good but they got the wrong vegetables on the wrong plate and forgot to add mushrooms to the spinach. It was corrected, though. The beef short ribs were good and meaty. So between the price and errors, they didn't come close to the other steak houses in town which are chain restaurants. read more

The restaurant failed to deliver on an epic scale. There was a 45 minute wait to be seated. This was fine as it is a new restaurant, so we elected to sit at the bar. It took 15 minutes to get water. Another 10 to place an order. And 40 minutes later there was no sign of our salads, much less the actual meal. When the meal did arrive, it was cold and two of the three had mistakes. There were no dinner rolls in the interim. They were overbooked and understaffed severely. All of this might be overlooked and forgiven based on the restaurants newness. However, the Cherry on top of this poor experience was the owner/manager in operation on the Saturday evening. We brought him over to have a chat one hour into the meal with no food present. He was full of excuses and unapologetic. To make matters worse when the food did come out and was wrong he insulted my family while defending the poor quality of the food. The fries were so bad and over cooked that he actually said he would like to replace them. By this point it was far too late. The damage was done. He is the worst part of this restaurant hands down. We will not be going back nor will we be recommending this restaurant to anyone in the future. Poor experience from the top down. read more

We ordered through Door Dash so I cannot speak about the wait service. The food was okay but It wasn't what it was hyped up to be. I ordered the 9oz sirloin and for the most part it was okay, just lacking flavor. The fries I ordered with my steak were great. My wife ordered the low country boil and was not impressed. The potatoes were mushy, the corn she described as tasting like dirt, the sausage was pretty good, and the crab legs were small and didn't have much meat. She also order the she-crab soup and had to stop eating it because every bite had shells in it. For dessert we ordered the Coca Cola cake and it was VERY dry. We probably won't order there again because for the price it wasn't worth it. You can get much better for cheaper elsewhere. read more

Overpriced. I've been here 3 times and don't recommend the $32 steak(the best one) or the tiramisu. The steak is thin, go to a proper steakhouse like Longhorn for an amazing steak. The tiramisu is overpriced and small and is made improperly. My friends $9 Tiramisu was half the size of mine and when mentioned to the waiter the response was only "Don't shoot the messenger. " The pasta is good but I recommend the Olive Garden nearby if you want better pasta for a better price per amount of food, and also if you want the cheaper but better/bigger tiramisu. The French Toast here is exquisite if you must come here. The negative reviews on here are not exaggerated. read more

The restaurant is very modern in decor and the menu is themed after flights (passengers, first class etc) My friend ordered the fish & fries & I had the herb crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The food was delicious. Served hot. They also serve warm table bread & butter (melt in your mouth). But the highlight of this review is our server Deandre. We had dinner on Wednesday, February 6th. The food was great, but better than our food was our server. Her name was Mimi, but I think it might be spelled Meme. She is exactly the kind of server I hope to get. Completely easy going. Absolutely professional. Totally at ease and able to carry on a conversation that felt genuine and while staying on top of all of our needs and the needs of the tables around us. On to the food - we started with the garlic crab claws appetizer. They were amazing. Granted - they were teeny-tiny, but the flavor was fantastic. For my dinner I had the low country boil. I currently live in San Diego and love to go to all of the Louisianan style seafood places in the area. This was such a better bargain. I got two full clusters of snow crab, half-dozen large shrimp, a half a link of Kielbasa, a full ear of corn, four boiled potatoes and (strangely) a boiled egg. Every element of the meal was delicious, and I shudder to think what this entree would have cost me in San Diego! I'd be more than happy to return to Props anytime I'm in town again. read more

Bar tender was nice but over task with waiting on tables, making drinks, prep work to close, fixing my drink oups, making substitutions with my meal and finaly trying to find my lost meal. I know everyone wants to love Props because they are locally owned and we want so very much to support that. Since opening I have not reviewed "while they work the kinks out". Today, to make a long story of many short, the burger ordered medium was over cooked. My crab cake appetizer choice basically gave me indigestion for several hours, I think they have some kind of weird additive in it. The remoulade sauce had that same taste. I like the Ahi tuna but that side slaw is very heavy with kale or something or some thing... it's also thick cut. On a good note, your bartender Byron was the bomb!!! We sat at the bar because all seats were full, and thank goodness! Not only does he have an awesome personality, he is very conscientious about his job. I wish you all the best. read more
