My landlord hired Handyman Contractor to replace a door on the garage that had a lot of dry rot…read more The handyman that did the work was a nice enough guy but his work is questionable. Main job was to replace the door and areas of dry rot. As you will see in the photos the dry rot was replaced, only to leave more places open for dry rot to occur. What's I see wrong. 1. No caulking in open and exposed fixed areas. 2. Screws sticking through the 2x4 next to a window causing a hazard. 3.uneven trim boards on the outside. 4. Left the dead bolt out of the job. 5. Used indoor trim to fix an outdoor job. Placed a 2x4 to close in the gap between the ground and the door with no metal flashing to protect the wood from water. See photos. But here is the kicker. I am an older woman in the customer service industry and just because I am an older woman doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about a thing or two. When the Handyman was about to leave I noticed the gate wouldn't close because it was hitting the bottom of the downspout. I mentioned it to him and his reply was astounding. Well, he said. " The roofer should have done something better with the at downspout." I said, "the gate shut just fine before you started working. It looks like to me, you didn't screw that gate mounting hook in far enough when you replaced it, in order for the gate to close properly." He agreed with me and gave me the instructions on how to remove the gate to screw the hook in farther and then left the scene. Yes, I did remove the gate, rotated the screw one turn and amazingly the gate cleared the downspout. Poor customer service. My Landlord was unhappy with the job as well and hired a different company to redo the entire job correctly costing Her double the money. Unacceptable. No rating Yelp required at least 1star.

A quick look up on BBB tells you a lot. Flat Roof Pros did my roof a few years ago and we had issues as soon as they "finished" the job. They left a mess and we were told when they finished they would be back to clean up and they never returned, leaving us to clean up their mess. They also scraped a bunch of gravel into our pool which took months to clean out ourselves. The leak we had before we hired them to redo our entire roof was still there after they left and the entire roof material they put on was cracking all over the place. It took months of calling, emailing, and even showing up at their office to get anyone to respond to come back out to repair the leak. When they finally came out we asked about the cracks thinking that was not normal and they said as long as it wasn't leaking it was fine. They patched the leaking area and left, however it still leaked AGAIN and in the months it took us to get them back out for a second patch a new leak sprung up and started leaking into our house. This time when they finally returned they patched both leaks, however only one is fixed and the second newer leak is still leaking into our house. I called and emailed for months and months again with no response and now have found out that the owner has moved out of state and it appears Flat Roof Pros is no longer in business, which also appears means they also aren't honoring any of their 20 year contracts they have with their customers. So after years of terrible service and a crappy roof job and thousands of dollars, I'm stuck with a cracked and leaking roof with buckets inside my house to catch the water. According to BBB, Flat Roof Pros alternate business name is Roofchecks.com. I contacted them and found the owner is Flat Roof Pros' brother and the two companies used to be affiliated, however Roofchecks.com also doesn't honor Flat Roof Pros contracts and also doesn't repair flat roofs. In speaking to a third non-affiliated roofing company, they are even questioning whether Flat Roof Pros even used the materials as stated in our contract. They think they may have used a discontinued and defective product instead of the one listed in our contract.

Awesome experience from start to finish. Had to have a chimney and fireplace removed due to a leak…read more(and because it looked ugly af) and Caldwell did an excellent job. Estimate was very fair and what I really appreciated is that they delivered on their promises. I never once felt like there was going to be a catch or an upsell. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know everyone that came to do the work and they were extremely professional. For an invasive job such as this they did a great job minimizing the disruption. Clean up afterwards was really thorough. If (IF) I was to find any flaw in the experience it would be that communication was not 100% perfect throughout, but it was really nothing major at all. They manage big projects all the time and I just had to learn to relax and trust that they knew what they were doing. The quality of their work was top notch and in the end they made a big (ger) job go as smooth as possible. I genuinely look forward to working with Caldwell Construction again in the very near future!!!

Once we finally did the consult (which was nearly 1 hour), I was impressed with Gunn's ideas on several projects I have and looked forward to working with him. He asked me to send an email listing out the various projects so he could quote them. I never got the quote. He would eventually respond to my follow up emails, texts, and calls promsing to send the estimate and get started, but it never happened. I waited patiently as he said he was dealing with family issues, continued to follow up, and he continued to play me---saying he'd get back to me but never doing so. Ultimately, Gunn ghosted my projects without so much as an apology. Not reliable, not professional.
