Such a cute little coffee shop/bakery right on Mill Avenue. It has a few cozy tables inside and some seating outside, plus a nice little touch with board games available, which adds to the relaxed, welcoming vibe. As the name suggests, their specialty is artisan bread, and most of their baked goods are sourdough-based. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but you can absolutely taste and see the quality -- everything looks beautiful and tastes delicious. Service is top-notch as well, friendly and attentive without being over the top. Don't expect to park right in front -- this stretch of Mill Avenue is known for limited or no parking. Ordered ecard online on 12/14 for 12/15 delivery. I have confirmation email, confirmed address with friend multiple times. She has checked email and spam folder numerous times 12/15 and 12/16. My credit card already charged. They did not email it. No corporate/main customer service to contact. I contacted Tempe location to attempt to solve their problem. Noone at store can resolve the issue. I have called twice. Emailed the help email on website twice with no response. Scammed out of $50 and my friend's Christmas surprise is ruined. Now have to file a claim on my credit card. Horrible automated system and noone held accountable. I am now going to consider my money stolen at this point. We visited this cute location in downtown Tempe on Friday afternoon. The gal working the cashier was very nice and enthusiastic about their products. We purchased a yummy mocha and a loaf of the multigrain bread. It's a very nice loaf of bread. We learned they named their sourdough starter Henrietta. If you want to get into sourdough bread, baking, they will sell you some starter. The only issue here, as in most downtown areas, is parking. There are Pay parking garages. We lucked out and found parking on the street. We used the app to pay $1.20 for 30 minutes. read more

Stumbled by during a work conference. Looked cute from outside. I was surprised they didn't offer many lunch options; just pizzas premade. I got a lemon curd danish and a rosemary croissant for the road. When I ate my pastries, I was surprised to find they were a bit dry and underwhelming. Felt almost like a day-old pastry; not stale or inedible, but definitely not fresh or flaky, either. Try the pizza slice! Tried the Genovese ( veggie). So yummy! Been here a few times and the service has been very nice and helpful. Not the quickest though so you may need to wait a little since I've only ever seen one person work the front at a time. Support local and grab some lovely sourdough while grabbing your morning coffee. They even have English muffins and hamburger buns. Noticed later on the website they offer a great lunch special for a slice, drink and a cookie for $12. I didn't ask or notice when in the shop. Sounds like a great deal though. I wanted to love the sourdough bread, but it was just OK. It was really tough to find parking here, and from what I saw, you can only pay for parking which makes trips here slightly inconvenient. I just wanted to get a loaf of sour dough bread to have with my homemade ham and bean soup at home. First, location is hard to access. Parking in downtown Tempe is difficult, especially when school is in session. Students are on Christmas break, so I decided to stop. Once I was finally parked, I walked in and was greeted by 3 young ladies. I asked for a loaf of sour dough bread, and then between them putting it in a bag and paying with my debit card (which they ask for a tip, but that's another story) I heard these young ladies say 'purrrfict' at least 8 times! Please, I'm just buying a loaf of bread, there is nothing 'purrrfict' about it! The bread was acceptable, not as good as I expected, or not as purrrfict as I hoped. Sorry, I won't go back. This place is great. The bread is delicious, and using a sourdough starter for pastries gives them a really unique flavor that you can't get most places. I also tried a couple coffees, both of which were very well made. The milk in the cappucino was frothed perfectly. The service was great each time I went in!
