We stumbled upon this place on our trip to Plymouth and it was such a great find! The country theme of the restaurant is awesome and so well put together - super cute and aesthetic - and the live music was also really great. Our waitress was super sweet and accommodating which was awesome. They didn't have any of the zero proof cocktails which was a little disappointing but she was super apologetic about it and offered other options :) Finally - the food? SO good and amazing for the price. The portion sizes are huge - we had a good amount of food to take home and were well fed! I hate to say that I wouldn't recommend this place, but if you want a place with average personality on service this is your spot. My wife ordered a Bloody Mary (Tito's vodka). The end result was a Mr & Mrs T mix. No accoutrements such as celery, olives, etc... BLAH!! Minimal effort.....This being a smokehouse I would expect some options or a wow factor. Love this place in downtown Plymouth. Great bar service and friendly. Always some entertainment to be had. Comfort food menu doesn't disappoint. Lean toward southern style. Ambiance is fun. Tried it the other day for lunch - at the very least I was underwhelmed Had the French Dip which literally had no flavor. What had less flavor was the dipping jus - watery with no flavor - added a lot of salt and pepper which didn't help . So I ate here for the first time yesterday (6/7/23). The menu looked like it had a lot of good looking things. I saw the burnt ends and given that I'm a bbq connoisseur, I knew I had to try them. I also got the bbq beans, the green beans and the beignets. So first the bad, the burnt ends lived up to their name, they were Burnt, super charred dry meat, no juice, they may have been edible if there was a sauce, but nope. The bbq beans were surprisingly good, they were not overly sweet, nice blend in between. The green beans were seasoned nicely and tasty. Now the beignets, OMG YUMMY! Absolutely a must try. read more

The ratings I've read that are bad are not warranted. Stopped here for lunch on way back to the city, got the buttermilk chicken sandwich. You can read my previous reviews, I don't hold back. This sandwich was easily the BEST buttermilk southern chicken sandwich I've had in ages. Got wifey one to go, and she ate it, (she's a worse critic then me) she LOVED it. Nice local place to grab sone great food. Great service especially if you seat at the bar!! They have different BBQ sauces to choose from they are great tasting! Fries are waffle fries , anything from fish tacos to pulled pork & slaw Haven't had any bad meals if anything eaten there. Sunday evenings tend to get busier with local Karaoke in the back. Please steer clear. This place seems to enable an unsafe space for many groups of people, including LGBTQ+, POC, and different body types. I was here with friends on a Sunday night for karaoke recently - my friend put in a slip to sing a song and was being repeatedly skipped over for other groups of girls, presumably because my friend is plus sized. There was a girl (white) singing a song and repeatedly belting the N word with no remorse whatsoever. While that was not necessarily an act of proof 22, they directly enable that behavior by not shutting the song down and asking her to leave entirely, or stop participating at the very least. This is a place that does not seem to care about the safety and respect of all it's patrons, and for that I would never feel safe returning or recommending it to others. read more

I desperately wanted to love this place. I was looking forward to it opening for a long time. I've given it 6-7 chances and it's just not good. The drinks aren't bad, the service is okay, and the food is below average. They're just missing the mark on a lot of fronts. The atmosphere was okay and the live music was decent, but nothing was really good. I hope they improve because there's a lot of people hoping that this place succeeds, including me. Was a big fan of T-Bones and just tried Proof 22 for an early dinner. Staff was nice, but dinner is best summarized by poor execution. Long wait for appetizers while our server talked to a friend (non customer) at empty table next to us. Like T-Bones- have self-serve condiment bottles on table- these were empty to start the night. We only had cocktails which were made by Morgan and they were so tasty, I highly recomment the dirty Martini!! Service & atmosphere was good at the bar. I don't like hating on places. I don't let a bad experience ruin a visit but this definitely is their habitual quality and has nothing to do with a bad day. I'm convinced you can get better ribs at a chain restaurant. We had to cut our ribs with a knife and fork, they were terribly dry and the seasoning was embedded on the skin with no flavor. Chicken skin was rubber and wet, I think an air fryer would even suffice to improve the texture. Corn bread seems like boxed quality served in a cupcake mold. Which would be fine if it wasn't dry as heck. Brisket normally has a nice crispy seasoned fat edge. Was mushy and tasteless. The 3 sauces we got were just sweet. Might as well have been from a Walmart brand of golden bbq and bourbon bbq. Def a place to go when you're drinking heavily and want a dive bar good time and don't care what you consume. Ordered delivery from this place for dinner - got the salad (bland), burnt ends (too salty), brisket platter (dry as a bone) and two of the flatbreads (also too salty). Wound up throwing most of it away rather than suffer through eating the rest. I've been looking forward to going to the newly opened Proof 22 formerly known as T-Bones. After looking at the menu at home, I decided on the steak and cheese turnovers described as a flaky puff pastry, when they arrived they were nothing as described they were heavy empanadas nothing light and flaky about them, the filling was tasteless. I then moved onto my entree Crispy southern fried fish sandwich crispy and flaky breaded fish on a toasted bun with tomato lettuce and Smokey tartar sauce, when it arrived it was so covered in coarse cornmeal and paper thin tomato the grit was to much for my teeth. I was done. My brother also had the fish and we left very disappointed. I will certainly come back for a beer and possibly good entertainment, but for now the foods not for me. read more
