Pretty solid spot in downtown Middleboro under new ownership. Great selection of cocktails and rotating beers on tap. We just came for some light apps and drinks. The wait staff was friendly and kind and the downstairs was decked out in Christmas decor. The Buffalo chicken dip was delicious as were the shrimp. I would have like slightly bigger portion for the dip, but still was a good split amongst 4 people. The drinks were strong! And beers were cold and delicious. Pick up/Take out review: They messed up the order. I cannot quite write a review because I couldn't eat the pizza. I called ahead. I placed an order for one ghost pepper pizza and one pepperoni pizza. We get home (half hour away) and my husband identified which pizza is the ghost pepper (they looked alike) and I then grabbed a bit and bite in. MY LIPS AND TONGUE WERE ON FIRE! Both pizza's were ghost pepper! Then half the family missed out on what we had planned and paid for for dinner. (The host was super nice, young girl. The facility is very modern and sheik inside. This is a new-to-me establishment, and I've eaten here twice this week! At my first visit, I enjoyed the rooftop deck for lunch. The second occurred on a rainy day so we ate inside. The restaurant is quite large with two bars to accommodate the floors. They feature live music and Karaoke nights and I can imagine this place gets hopping. Both times our server was Kelly, who is super friendly and efficient--she monitors your drinks and brings refills before you have to ask! So far, what we've ordered has all been great. I was especially impressed by the generous Greek salad plus salmon add-on. No cheap iceberg but nice Romain and green/red leaf lettuces. The meatballs in the panini are homemade and reportedly delicious. I enjoyed the smash burger on my second trip, while my friend said the haddock BLT was great and they didn't skip on the bacon! There is a side parking lot if you're unable to snag a spot on the street. FYI: There are numerous flights of stairs if dining with older folks. read more

Ambiance was very nice, it's very small place & high top tables. When that door opens it's cold in there, I never took my coat off. No complaints on service, waitress was very nice & attentive. Food was also out in a timely manner. Where it falls short is the actual food. We got spinach artichoke dip, which was def cooked a bit too long as the edges were burnt. The chips were also on the edge of being stale. I got chix broccoli Alfredo. It was pretty bland, and cheese kinda clumped & stuck to the bottom of the plate. Husband got chix parm. Sauce was very watery, and chix was just okay, again just bland. Maybe we'll give it a second chance some day. And try something other than pasta. read more

The Christmas designs are very cool. The food was some of the best I've ever had. The waitress was very accommodating. The only downside/positive was my meal came out wrong. I ordered the ribeye and a steak tip plate came out. I told them no worries, I'll eat the steak. They apologized and had the chef make me the ribeye. While I waited the manager came and apologized and comped my meal and gave my wife and I a gift card for a future visit. We were shocked but pleased they recognized their mistake. The smash burger and quahog took about 40 minutes to get to me and there were not that many people in the restaurant. When my food did get to me it wasn't very good to be honest. The smash burger had no crust to it and was not very flavorful. I do want to mention that I am allergic to bees and there was an infestation of them inside and outside. I let the bartenders know this and they had no other accommodations or suggestions to me. They do have not seating downstairs that is not subjective to the bees but did not allow anyone to be seated down there. Not a great experience! read more

Wait staff couldn't care any less that you are there. Our waitress was either violently hungover or actively on dope. Some of the worst food I've ever been served. Took one bite of the chicken scampi and decided against anything else. If you'd like to pay 100$ for a stomach ache, this is your place! Also, having worked in the restaurant business for a few years, it is common sense to not drop a red hot plate with a molten bowl of mac and cheese in front of a young child without saying "hot plate". Like to start with the ceiling....amazing! It was decorated for the holidays on a spectacular way...whoever did that, bravo! We sat at the bar and unfortunately the door to the kitchen is left open with an obnoxiously bright light that shines directly in your face which kinda kills the beauty of the room. Another uncomfortable site is the bathroom which is right off the main dining area, like when someone goes in or out and opens the door, you can see (and smell) everything. Bartenders were mediocre, didn't really exactly greet us until about 10 min after we sat. There were fruit flies to tend with which Ik is tough to regulate at a bar, but not impossible. Nachos were underwhelming. My man order a "turkey dinner" the presentation was flat and colorless. Two slabs of turkey completely covering the mashed potatoes and a little corn. The forgot the cranberry sauce and when they brought it, it was literally a tablespoon size in a small plastic cup - cheesy a hell, all in all it looked like a hospital meal. I got a butternut salad which was delish! Butternut squash, mixed greens, chick peas, etc. hands down the best thing we got! We finished our meal and ordered another beer and our dirty plates stayed in front of us the entire time which is totally unacceptable. If the food was great and service sucked or Vice versa, I'd give it another shot, but nothing was outstanding enough to make me give it another chance. read more

I've been to the new Hideaway a few times now and have been happy with the food and service. The ambiance is great especially around the holidays, beautiful. Last night I ordered the " Angus Beef Brisket Dinner $26 slow smoked tender beef brisket topped with sweet bbq sauce." Unfortunately, I received tough roast beef with some BBQ sauce on it. Unless you're making real brisket you should probably remove this item from your menu. read more

Atmosphere is different, been going since new ownership, always had a pleasant experience. But now lots of new faces and not sure where our favorite bartenders are ! The steps in the establishment are the worst ! Was there last Thursday and the waitstaff was either all brand new or drunk ! I didn't see any one who was in a manager mode or even trying to help this staff , it's unfortunate as the food is good but when I go out to eat the expectation is for the service to be attentive and not some could care less attitude and if you are new as we all have been you should have a team captain / manager to help smooth things out , with food costs up service is where the owners need to focus ! Wow what a great place a treat if you will . We are From Syracuse New York . And happened upon this on yelp. We stopped in we were asked if we had a reservation and responded no ,we were told the wait would be 45 minutes . We were hesitant at first ,well I was ,then we said we will wait . We went to the bar by the way the place is decorated beautifully and the lighting was bright . I guess im saying not a dive . The bar tender was pleasant and attentive. The customers were as well . We only had to wait about 15 minutes and led upstairs by the host who was pleasant as well . to the outdoor deck ( it was a lovely evening) .a wonderful singer was singing beautifully . The patrons were pleasant as well like we were long lost friends. We ordered the smash burger and fish tacos. The smash burger was so good if you go you have to have that . Probably one of the. Food and drinks are on the expensive side, slow and unorganized service. Server greeted our table and then didn't return to take our drink order until 20 minutes later. Drinks served about 20 minutes after putting in the order. We have been seated for about an hour before the server finally returned to take our food order. Soup, appetizers and main course arrive literally together. Curiously, the place was maybe at 10-15% capacity. Makes me wonder why the service was so slow and the delivery was so rushed. Wanted to get in the Holiday spirit so I Googled restaurants decorated for Christmas and came across the Hideaway Restaurant in Middleboro. Couldn't have made a better choice! The decorations were beautifully done definitely rivaling The Venetian in Weymouth! Super cute pub atmosphere with very updated Christmas music and every detail was covered including little stocking caps on the bottles behind the bar! It is a small, cozy room! Tim was our server/bartender & he couldn't have been more accommodating & informative. We went for lunch and the food was both creative and well thought out. Enjoyed every bite! Upon arriving, we got excited noticing the large outdoor 2nd story patio which would seem like a great place for drinks in the warmer months. We enjoyed the festive atmosphere inside w/the ceiling covered in Christmas ornaments. We had a reservation so we were seated immediately (although not crowded for a Friday night)and our waitress was very friendly. Ordered 2 Sangrias & one Hideaway IPA to start. Beer was OK, the Sangrias were 1/4 foam, 1/2 ice & 1/4 juice mixture which the least of which appeared to be any kind of wine. Wasn't really excited by the online menu but figure they must have specials. The website had a specials category but said that section was coming. That led me to believe that there were in fact specials, but they weren't posted online. I was wrong, the menu was the menu. I ordered calamari based upon the waitress saying it was "amazing" as long as I didn't mind that it included the tentacles, no problem. The majority of the order was very crunchy peppers with maybe 4 to 5 calamari in an overdone, very crunchy coating. My husband ordered Chili which came as a chili flavored crumbled Hamburg dip with tortilla chips, barely warm. Onto entrees-chicken parm which was ok, the best part of the meal being the garlic bread, a cheeseburger which I had to send back because it was a hamburger w/shredded cheese placed on top, not melted. I order w/out bread so the cheese situation was in plain sight, the French fries did not have a taste and seemed dry, lastly the meatball panini was large, stuffed with plenty of meatballs but was lukewarm and again the fries were tasteless. Many people seemed to be ordering the pub pizza so that may have been the go to. It was not a busy night so we did not see an excuse for the kitchen to turn out that quality of food, Very disappointed and for a pub, the prices for both drinks and the below average food seemed unusually high. Right down the street is Harry's and a little further The Cabin, which are both 1,000% better in every aspect. Although the outdoor space looks nice, it's a 1 and done. read more

Service was not great and that was the highlight of our time here. My husband asked what they had for bourbon and our waitresses response was "I'm not great with knowing alcohol". We ordered a quahog to start and it was tiny and not great. Also, it took about 20 minutes for that one app to be served when there was only one other table with people when we sat down. The entrees took 50 minutes to be served and my husbands fish tacos were cold, like they had been sitting out for a while. I got the chicken kabobs, and not sure you could even call them chicken kabobs since there was barely any chicken on them. They also forgot some of the key ingredients for the rest of the dish. We sat with empty wine glasses for approx 10 minutes without the waitress asking if we needed another. All while there were no more 3-4 other tables of people in the entire restaurant! Needless to say, this place was one of our worst dining experiences in quite some time and I wouldnt be surprised if they were out of business within the year. Do not recommend! read more
